On the February 26 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show, after playing an audio clip of the beginning of singer Melissa Etheridge's acceptance speech at the Academy Awards in which she thanked her wife and four children, Michael Savage said: "I don't like a woman married to a woman. It makes me want to puke. ... I want to vomit when I hear it. I think it's child abuse." Savage later similarly stated: "I want to puke when I hear about a woman married to a woman raising children because, frankly, I think that it's child abuse to do that to children without their permission. What does a child know? Ask them when they're 16 whether they want to be raised by two lesbians or two men," adding: "What are the two men doing behind the other wall? You think the children don't hear it?"

During the same broadcast, in response to a caller who asked, "How do we answer our kids when we're forced to [sic] -- this homosexuality upon us?" Savage said: "You say there are people who are sexually confused, who think that they're men when they're women. They're not normal. Normal people are not like that. Normal people are like Mommy and Daddy. Mommy and Daddy are normal. There are people who are not normal." He concluded by saying, "That's what you have to say to them otherwise a child will grow up confused."

The Savage Nation reaches more than 8 million listeners each week, according to Talkers Magazine, making it the third most-listened-to talk radio show in the nation, behind only The Rush Limbaugh Show and The Sean Hannity Show. The Creative Artists Agency, one of the world's leading talent and literary agencies, recently announced that it had signed Savage for "representation in all areas," including television and film.

From the February 26 edition of Talk Radio Network's The Savage Nation:

ETHERIDGE: I have to thank my incredible wife, Tammy, and our four children, Becky and Bailey and Johnnie Rose and Miller, and everyone --

SAVAGE: Turn it off. Get her off my show. I don't care what her name is. I don't like a woman married to a woman. It makes me want to puke. How's that? I want to vomit when I hear it. I think it's child abuse. That's my opinion -- one man's opinion. If it's illegal, tell me it's illegal to have an opinion in America. Maybe I can be excommunicated for having an opinion.

I want to puke when I hear about a woman married to a woman raising children because, frankly, I think that it's child abuse to do that to children without their permission. What does a child know? Ask them when they're 16 whether they want to be raised by two lesbians or two men. What are the two men doing behind the other wall? You think the children don't hear it?

You know, everything's sanitized for you. Islamofascism is sanitized. You don't know what they really do. Go on my website, you'll see what they really do to people. You'll hear the holler and the scream of people dying. You want to know what homosexuals do with each other? You don't have to guess, you can figure it out.

What are you people crazy? What world do you live in? Every day, brainwashing 'til you don't know the difference between right and wrong, family and a fake family, real science and morons who are on drugs inventing science -- science fiction, that is. You don't know anything anymore in this country. You've been brainwashed by the liberal elite -- the establishment -- if you want to call them elite. How can you call drug addicts elite?

[...]

SAVAGE: Portland, Oregon, [caller], KXL, you're on The Savage Nation.

CALLER: My wife was sitting on the couch with our 7-year-old daughter when Etheridge got up and did her piece thanking her wife and four kids, and our daughter looked over at our -- at Mom and said: "Was that a man?" And how do we answer our kids when we're forced to [sic] -- this homosexuality upon us?

SAVAGE: I will tell you how you answer it: You say there are people who are sexually confused, who think that they're men when they're women. They're not normal. Normal people are not like that. Normal people are like Mommy and Daddy. Mommy and Daddy are normal. There are people who are not normal, who have a confusion in their head, and they think they're a man even though they look like a woman. That's what you have to say to them otherwise the child will grow up confused.

CALLER: Yeah, that caused confusion. Thanks for your input, Doctor.

SAVAGE: Yeah, I mean, why be ashamed to tell your child what reality is? You can't tell a child what reality is? Maybe in a few years you won't be able to tell your child that. Maybe they could turn you in like in Nazi Germany -- "Mommy told me that two women are not normal." Maybe the police will come and take your child away in a few years if these scum-sucking vermin continue this brainwashing garbage.

Everywhere I turn I've never seen anything like it. From the high to the low, from the top to the bottom, from East to West, the vermin are brainwashing all of you all the time. I am one of a few, and there are some really good people out there, with the last bridge of reality -- us, we.

Very broad minded point of view Pithaugen.  But I think you may sell Savage short.  What Savage and so many others on the Right do is point out public examples of this controversial stance, thereby reminding everyone of who politically is for it (Democrats). Implicitly they call into question the Democratic Partys' judgement or wisdom.

"What would they do when confronted with something of real consequence?", goes the thinking of the casual listener.

Hard to say what is going through the mind of the casual listener of this .... I don't even know what to call it. Grand Junction has a station that plays a constant stream of Savage, Limbaugh, Beck etc. I, in the spirit of giving all viewpoints a fair shot, have tried to listen to Savage, and I can't. I get this feeling that I will be infected with an awful debilitating disease like Lou Gerhigs disease if I let his words into my brain, and I tune in the classical channel for awhile to purge my brain. It's hard for me to imagine someone is a repeat listener by choice of his program.

Don't know that we have advanced very much from cavemen in this fundamental way. In the movie 2001, by Stanly Kubrick, the first thing apes did when discovering the ability to use bones as tools was to kill other apes in order to acquire land and resources (a water hole).

The only difference is we don't use bones now a days.

Although a bit off topic perhaps, but did you read recently that a population of chimpanzees has been discovered in Senegal in which the female chimps have learned to  fashion hunting spears from tree branches? They clean the selected branches of leaves and then gnaw the ends into points with their teeth. They use the spears to kill bushbabies, smaller primates hiding in holes in trees, and then eat them.

Considering that chimpanzee and human precursors branched off from each other about 5 million years ago and that humans and chimps share about 98% of the same DNA scientists sometimes look to chimpanzee behavior for possible clues regarding early human behavior such as the development of the use of tools.

Considering that chimpanzees have been known to kill one another, how long do you think it will take for chimps in the Senegal population to figure out that their hunting spears can be used to kill other chimps?  Hmmm... the more things change, the more they stay the same.

"You want to know what homosexuals do with each other?"

Not really interested in that Mr. Savage... but apparently you are.

I wonder if Mr. Savage is concerned about the welfare of children of happily married heterosexual couples who lovingly pleasure each other in every creative way they can imagine... behind their closed bedroom door.

I'm not a certified expert but having raised three children and observed the rearing of many other children I would suggest that how much love, understanding, support and wisdom a parent can provide to a child are the important things. I wonder if Mr. Savage has any children... and, if so, how they turned out.

He is truly amazing, isn't he? The idea that two individuals are less capable of raising a child than that of a single individual based on the fact that they are of the same sex doesn't hold any water. If anything, it forces the child to grow up in an environment submerged in open mindedness and acceptability. Two attributes that would definitely constitute "Child Abuse" in the home. You would think his male machismo would take over, implying that two men would DEFEINITELY be more suitable to raise a child than a single mother.

I listen to enough righty radio that I can't laugh it off. Callers to the shows eat it up, complaining about the persecution they suffer. Like not being able to tell people they're going to hell/evil/wrong without getting a response from those people.

Weiner is himself a repressed & self loathing gay man, who has simply turned his self hatred outwardly, spewing the bile that bubbles up from his id upon others. By scapegoating others, he seeks to atone for his own self percieved sins. Appropriately, he projects a eerie similarity to Ernst Rohm, the brutal, hate-filled head of Hitler's Brown Shirts.

And I think I know what Michael Savage REALLY wants to do with children under the "abusive influence" of gay/lesbian parents:

Have them "resettled" in Industrial Schools of the infamous Irish model, replete with deliberate sexual abuse by houseparents and pseudoreligious "minders."

Deliberately-cooked-up "accidents" which can officially be put down to "ignorance of safety regulations," not to mention the supervisors warning those eventually caught up in same "we can get more of you where you came from," reinforced by offensive epithets.

"Manual Training" having no relation to modern socioeconomic realities, and "Practical Training" heavy on pseudoreligiopolitical bromides and patsies.

Which, in the end, will leave those afflicted with warped minds and equally-warped delusions of Reality which may require psychiatric treatment.

But Rusty, its sort of fun. Every time Weiner does something like this, the "underbelly" of human kind appear and post here.

Shows you how far we still need to go before humanity evolves past hate and fear of the unknown.

(Plus, it provides me with great examples to use during presentations on hate. (yes, I've copied and pasted random hate filled comments, without the user's name attached and used them as examples.) I would say 95-98% of the students who talk to me after reading some of the materials I provide say things like, "wow, I never knew it was that bad." Or "how could intelligent people say things like that?")

You've got rich material here, McCain.  If I were you I'd highlight that Weiner called Melissa Etheridge and her partner "scum-sucking vermin."

Well, I also printed one of the posts from this morning, that got flagged/deleted.

The one where that guy talked about how he misses gay bashing in Houston in the good old days.

Those provide more impact because they are not paid mouth pieces like Weiner, just posters on a blog.

I especially like Savage's whining aloud about the legality (or not) of his opinion. He's right. Regardless of how steeped in ignorance and hatred, how Neanderthal-like and backward, how dim-witted and bigoted, having an opinion is a legally protected right, just as it is MY right, EVERYONE'S right to point out what a waste of human meat you are, Mr. Savage. And if you don't like my opinion or the opinions of others who have posted on MMFA, then say something intelligent for once. Pretend it is opposite day, every day, and act like a product of the 21st century thinking, not 17th century fear.

That guy should be a character on South Park... There's a place for everyone in this lil' mountain town. Then he would be there for the amusement of millions. He could be Cartman's dad-- that would explain so much. And since all non-Mormons in the South Park world go to hell, and Satan is gay, savage would eventually be ruled by a gay person. That would be hillarious. I wonder I can get rich by selling that idea to "Matt n' Trey". Bets anyone?

Good idea!  (But before you go see Matt and Trey, remember that Cartman's mom is Cartman's dad.)

Savage/Weiner has something against women too.  Last week he was saying disparaging remarks against Anna Nicole Smith.  He kept saying how glad he was that she was dead, and essentially calling her negative names and even saying that it's good she died, so that Islamic people will look more favorably on the US culture, without her around.  But that's just one instance of his hate-filled, misogynistic stance towards women.

I've stopped listening to his stupid show, I don't need to fill my head with his garbage any more.

A seriously hatefilled moron. I wonder what happened to him to make him so vile, hateful, disgusting thing?

      He certainly isn't human.

But what is really and truly disturbing is the agency promoting his hatred. Further proof that money and hatred triumph over honesty and reasonable people any time.

      Disney is truly disgusting.
