CNN's, ABC's Beck on Clinton: "[S]he's the stereotypical bitch"
On the March 15 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show, Glenn Beck said: "Hillary Clinton cannot be elected president because ... there's something about her vocal range." He went on to say, "There's something about her voice that just drives me -- it's not what she says, it's how she says it," adding, "She is like the stereotypical -- excuse the expression, but this is the way to -- she's the stereotypical bitch, you know what I mean?" Beck also asked: "[A]fter four years, don't you think every man in America will go insane?" and pleaded, "I'm sorry for being such a pig. But please, America. Please. I don't think I could do it for four years. I mean, sure the country is going to go to hell in a handbasket, but could we make this about me for a second? I just don't think I could take it from her." He also said that "there is a range in women's voices that experts say is just the chalk, I mean, the fingernails on the blackboard."
In the same broadcast, in reference to the confessions of alleged 9-11 mastermind Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, Beck said: "You know Khalid Shaikh Mohammed has confessed to 9-11 and trying to kill President Carter. Why would you try to kill President Carter? He's on your side, for the love of Pete." He went on to say, "[I]f Jimmy Carter's son could just be elected president, then all of us in talk radio could get on and say, 'We're only going to war because Jimmy Carter's son wants to repay these people.' "
As Media Matters for America has noted, ABC News recently hired Beck as a "regular commentator" on Good Morning America. He also hosts a talk show on CNN Headline News. Premiere Radio Networks, which syndicates Beck's radio show, says the program is heard on more than 230 radio stations nationwide. According to Talkers Magazine, the program reaches more than 3 million listeners each week.
From the March 15 edition of Premiere Radio Networks' The Glenn Beck Program:
BECK: I don't want to sound like the old ball-and-chain guy, but Hillary Clinton cannot be elected president because -- am I wrong in feeling, am I the only one in America that feels this way? -- that there's something about her vocal range. There's something about her voice that just drives me -- it's not what she says, it's how she says it. She is like the stereotypical -- excuse the expression, but this is the way to -- she's the stereotypical bitch, you know what I mean? She's that stereotypical, nagging, [unintelligible], you know what I mean? And she doesn't have to be saying -- she could be saying happy things, but after four years, don't you think every man in America will go insane? Is it just me? I mean, I know this is horrible to say, but I mean it not -- I would say this if she were Condi Rice and she sounded like that. Condi Rice doesn't have that grate to her voice. You know what I need to do? I need to talk to a vocal expert, because there is a range in women's voices that experts say is just the chalk, I mean, the fingernails on the blackboard. And I don't know if she's using that range or what it is, but I've heard her in speeches where I can't take it.
[...]
BECK: Am I alone? Dan [Andros, producer]? Have you noticed that about her?
ANDROS: Oh my gosh, she could be talking about how she's giving every American a million dollars, and I'm hearing, "Could you take out the garbage now, please?"
BECK: That really is what it is. I just, I don't -- I thought it was just me. And maybe it is.
[...]
BECK: I'm sorry for being such a pig. But please, America. Please. I don't think I could do it for four years. I mean, sure the country is going to go to hell in a handbasket, but could we make this about me for a second? I just don't think I could take it from her.
[...]
BECK: You know Khalid Shaikh Mohammed has confessed to 9-11 and trying to kill President Carter. Why would you try to kill President Carter? He's on your side, for the love of Pete. No, he -- that hasn't been confirmed? We should check into it because I read it on a blog someplace. Why would you -- if Jimmy Carter's son could just be elected president, then all of us in talk radio could get on and say, "We're only going to war because Jimmy Carter's son wants to repay these people." "Daddy. They tried to kill Daddy."

Glenn Beck is the stereotypical conservative troglodyte.
THANK YOU.
njguy93@yahoo.com
..and bitch!
"B*tch" and "f*ggot". The GOPigs are sooooo classy. Good to see the "morality" of the republic party exposed.
Get your facts straight before posting little comments. While Coulter is a Republican, Beck is not. He is just more conservative than liberal. Being conservative does not limit one to a particular party nor does being liberal.
1 You are so brainwashed it is nearing the level of insanity. What evidence do you have that the WMDs went to Syria? Oh none whatsoever, some trucks went across the border. Except Kay and Duelfer who investigated this very issue didnt SAY they were moved to Syria but that Iraq hadnt had them since 1995 at the LATEST. This a dog at my weapons of mass destruction defense is laughable, we have just as much evidence that Martians whisked them away, for sheer entertainment value I prefer the Fairies took them delusion. The only reason you guys even keep MAKING this ludicrous argument is for propaganda purposes along with your overall hostility to reality itself.
2 Actually we have what the PENTAGON said and THEY didnt call it a guess. They said you dont train terrorists in planes you train them in basements, they said directly it was a COUNTERTERRORISM training center which we knew when WE HELPED BUILD IT.
3 Ever hear of FALLUJAH? Man are you ever easy, you get that you arent very good at this dont you?
4 Lets see more than 80% of the IRAQIS want us gone according to the poll taken by the BRITISH, if you have a point its a really dumb one.
5 Reasoning? You dont do reasoning you do talking points most of which were debunked long ago and now only used by the most DESPERATE and low watt bulb sychophantic propaganda parrots. If you had the slighest intellectual honesty you would admit you got shredded by Vysotsky instead of this laughable and pathetic, you wont accept any weak assed stupid thing I say so why should I bother nonsense. I am getting bored now and losing IQ points from the vapidity of your propaganda so I will skip right to...
10 Oh yeah so you are saying that Osamb Ben Laden who killed about people on 9/11 will be lulled into being careless because of something Bush says. Wow you take being a brainwashed bushbot to all new levels of insanity. Bush said that because he left OFF chasing Osama and put his efforts into a more profit friendly war in Iraq and wants people to stop bothering him about one, among many, of his abject failures that just about everyone but the most committed to insane reality denial ideologues know very well
Yeah, because her voice is really an important political issue.
Dumb a@@!
THe way one speaks is VERY important in politics. Like it or not.
I wish. Bush can mangle the English language and it's hands off with the press. Kerry botches a joke and is skewered for it.
One of my first problems with Bushwas the way HE CAN NOT ralley the people.
...and he's extremely INARTICULATE. You can't rally the people if number 1: The people don’t understand what the heck you’re talking about and number 2: They can't sit through a presidential press conference with out laughing at something idiotic that the president just said.
LOLOLOLOL.......
Yes, Yes and Yes.......
Belive you me, I can not wait for 2008.
THe way one speaks is VERY important in politics. Like it or not.
Beck is talking about her voice. Not the way in which she speaks. There's a HUGE difference.
When you speak, what happens? Your VOICE projects.
Evil,
What are you trying to say? It really isn't clear.
Only TWO words...
Beck's description of himself as "a pig" are the only words to remember from his quotes.
That said, it's too bad that he’s denigrated the noble porcine.Which one? It's a long list.
A vocal expert is not the kind of expert this boy needs.
He needs a mental health expert or maybe a little fatherly ass kicking expert to teach him to be a little more respectful of women. He's a cretin.
I'll listen to any disagreement that his cretin followers have now.
Since he was raised a Mormon, I think what Beck really needs is a de-programming.
You feel his religious background is the reason for his name calling?
"The great liberal John Stuart Mill was correct when he said not all stupid people are conservatives, but most conservatives are stupid people. I would add that many who call themselves conservatives are reactionary and ruled by their hate and fears."
- Mike Hersh
Yeah...if the foundation of his thinking is embedded in the beginning with Mormonism..yeah. Mormonism is a racist religion since they believe the mark of Cain is being of dark skin and when you become white you are pure again so they feel chosen and superior to others...yeah.
Michael this is unfair
I am offended that you would attack a person's religion. As much as I dislike and unapprove of Glenn's views, his religion is irrelavent. People have a RIGHT to worship whatever they choose and if you have a problem with that then I recommend a trip to IRAN!
That's funny... they say the same thing in most other countries about the US. We are ruled by a dry-drunk and his cronies, most of which pretend to be Christian for the sake of the votes. Then they have to pile heaps of religious crap on the people to maintain the favors.
Weird, eh? The US becomes the example of how not to run a country. Never mix politics and religion. Are you beginning to wonder why our country was started with clear demand for separation of church and state? Religious freedom was a reason to be in the US 200+ years ago. Now, if you are not into W's religion (one he obviously does not understand) then you are treated differently.
If you think a person's religious beliefs have no bearing on a their politics then you're sound asleep. Religion has EVERYTHING to do with one's poltical outlook.
Go find me a liberal Mormon. LOL
A religeon is nothing more thana worldview; it is an ideology. there's nothing "bigoted" about opposing an ideology. There's nothing tying any human being intrinsically to any ideology.
It is no more "bigoted" to oppose Catholics or Mormons than it is to oppose Capitalism or Communism.
Exactly right. It is nonsensical to claim that an ideology enjoys special immunity from criticism just because it's a religious ideology.
In all fairness, if a key part of your religion's doctrine involves hatred of minorities built into the dogma, your religion is fair game. For example, the second class (third class?) status of women in Islam had been a feminist talking point for years before the towers ever fell.
Wow!! What a job you did of taking a snipit of something that dosen't necissarily apply and making it sound all inclusive. It is comments like this that really skew ideas and ideals so far out of proportion. Your comment was ignorant, reckless and careless.
I agree Evillib...
Some posters here for some reason have a huge problem with religion. I am an atheist personally, but some of the things some people here post about people of faith is well, disqusting...
I would not put anything past a hardcore Muslim.
- evillib1727 / Thursday March 15, 2007 06:34:56 PM ESTHe wasn't raised Mormon, he converted later in life, after all the coke binging and such. Anyways, the LDS church doesn't really "program" this into people. I don't know if your comment was a joke or not, but either way it falls flat.
Beck wasn't raised Mormon. He converted.
DRAFTED:
Correction. Beck was not RAISED a Mormon. He adopted a religion when he set his sights on rightwing talk radio ... having GOD behind your comments is important to that audience.
Prior to "finding religion" in a talk-show quest conversion, Beck was a failed DJ and alcoholic/drug addict. This seems the proper resume for rightwing radio hosts, and fills their audience with confidence about their expertise on, well, EVERYTHING.
Of course, the people the rightwing invest with great knowledge of the MILITARY are all chickenhawks who never were NEAR a shot fired in battle, so we expect the rightwing to embrace the ignorant and flawed and cowardly. After all, one LIKES people who are most like oneself. It's human nature.
Rightwing, thy name is incompetence, thy credo is willful ignorance, and thy demeanor is arrogant hatred. Great. Beck's your guy, as is Rush, Sean, Ann, Savage, etc, etc. Imagine having all these guys on the simplest of tasks ... say a "decoration committee". They couldn't produce anything but animosity. They are non-performers. Worthless, as anything but paid propagandists.
He adopted a religion when he set his sights on rightwing talk radio...
If that's true, than he's even dumber than I thought. He should have chosen some generic form of protestant Christianity because it is likely that many of his conservative Christian listeners would be suspicious of a Mormon.
Ha, ha! I would love those who think that Beck has been "programmed" by the Mormons to tell us how that works. Mormons teach against using profanity, but Glenn Beck swears all the time. I guess the "programming" just didn't take this time around.
While I agree that Beck's neocon slant is anti-Constitutional and anti-liberty, when he is defending true religious values and principles he is a good salesman. The only problem is that he then repudiates all that he's said through his use of foul language. While we are all fallen short of perfection, there are some simple things--like controlling your language--that tend to publicly demonstrate broader character flaws within an individual. While I think Beck is an entertaining person to listen to, when he intentionally uses inapropriate language he is showing a blatant disregard to the morals that he supposedly espouses. Shame on him for generating this debate and for not even attempting to rise to a higher standard.
A vocal expert is not the kind of expert this boy needs.
He needs a mental health expert or maybe a little fatherly ass kicking expert to teach him to be a little more respectful of women. He's a cretin.
I'll listen to any disagreement that his cretin followers have now.
- worrierking
Not all women deserve respect. Some women deserve disdain. As for you WorrierKing I can tell your vocabulary is very limited. Mr. Beck's just following the Boortz method: "Somebody's Got to Say It!"
I understand that being disrespectful of women is the new plank in your parties platform. I was raised better. I give every person respect until they show they're not deserving of my respect.
Your hero Mr. Beck, has shown time and again that he is not deserving of my respect. He says vile and hateful things. Any one who defends his use of this type of speech is as unworthy of my respect as he is.
I am one of those "Cretin Followers" that regualarly listen to Glenn Beck and have posted a few things on this site.
I heard the whole thing on the radio and when he said the "B" word in reference Mrs. Clinton, it made me cringe. He doesn't need to go down that road and I wish he wouldn't have said it.
And Glenn Beck, with his phony "radio announcer'" voice is a stereotypical a$$hole. I can't wait to see how the Glenn Beck apologists defend this one.
I tried listening once, and found his voice appualing.
Isn't Beck a (supposed) recovering alcoholic?
If so, or even if not, he's on the sauce again.
No one sane, or sober, can be that stupid.
This just reinforces my theory that the Right Wing liars are in full Kamikaze mode. They are saying and doing the most outrageous things they can think of so that we won't pay attention to the failure and corruption of Puddinhead George that is being revealed daily.
Does anyone really believe it's a coincidence that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed's "confession" was just released? Does anyone believe that one man really did all that crap?
I agree. there's an all out assault the last few weeks. Each day it seems to be getting more vicious. It's like after all these years the right can finally show their true feelings, no more sucking up to women and minorities.
I think they're playing to their base and know that at this point they'll lose more than they'll ever gain if they accept Obama, Clinton, Edwards etc. as real human beings, not the things they've called them the last week or so.
Since there hasn't been an overwhelming refutation of the hate speech from the right, it shows me that the rank and file accepts this.
I would not put anything past a hardcore Muslim.
They just had the first military tribunals to determine the status of each gitmo prisoner.
When do you think they would release it? Don't you think the week of the election would have been a better strategy?
"we should check into it because I read it on a blog someplace"
CNN, how could you?
Hillary should make a campaign commercial out of this and then decry it as typical right-wing rhetoric. She can use people like Beck as liabilities for the right.
No, Glenn. It's not just you. It's also all those other Hillary haters who concentrate on superficial personal traits, because consideration of outside ideas to any depth scares them. And only concrete moral and political axioms founded in "acceptable" facts allow them to ignore reality and help them feel safe.
No, Glenn. You're not alone. There are plenty of useless Americans out there whose only saving grace is that there are others willing to make the critical decisions so that this country doesn't have to try to survive on the fruits of your ignorance.
Agreed, Neondesert. Can somebody name one trait that W has that has anything to do with Presidential material? One trait! Anything. Please somebody, name one.
He's inarticulate. He's arrogant. Lies (but not about a bj so he's still in office). Pushes religion, but doesn't understand it at all. His foreign policy consists of "yee haw" and "mission accomplished" while our young military dies for... sorry, I forget what we are fighting for. Oil.
What is W good for?
"One trait!"
He's kinda tall, and can wear a suit and tie without tripping over himself... more than a couple of times?
Right. They can't make a real argument against Hillary because she has supported all the right-wing policies.
Ain't that the truth.
[link to www.nytimes.com]
"She said in the interview that there were “remaining vital national security interests in Iraq” that would require a continuing deployment of American troops.
The United States’ security would be undermined if parts of Iraq turned into a failed state “that serves as a petri dish for insurgents and Al Qaeda,” she said. “It is right in the heart of the oil region,” she said. “It is directly in opposition to our interests, to the interests of regimes, to Israel’s interests.” -HRC, RNC, DLC. Doesn't matter though she lost my vote a while ago.
It is strange that the right has such contempt for her, were she not pro-choice, she could be one of their own. She's pro-war, pro-corporate interest and offers very few discernable differences from Republicans concerning foreign policy. She's not authentic in my humble estimation.
All that matters to them is she has the hated D behind her name. To a Republican, that's heresy in the first degree. The fact that she actually supports all their policies is lost in their fantasy world of propaganda and lies.
The US is pushing new laws on Iraq that allows the oil giants to come in and buy up all the oil fields right now. That's the "US interests" that Hillary would keep the mass murder going for. She's war criminal scum, a killer of children for profit and campaign contributions....like most of her party. Like 99% of the US political establishment.
Guess who's gonna get a "Worst Person in the World" award tonight...
And the crowd goes wild....
O'Reilly will be sooo disappointed.
But hey. There's always next time!
What a slimy piece of filth.
Journalism has never gone lower in the United States of America.
That is just it. These guys are ENTERTAINERS. Not journalists. BUt you are as well right about them. Most are lowlifes.
Does it make a difference if we distinguish between the status of journalist and entertainer? The bottom line is that they are OPINION MAKERS. People like Beck, Hannity, O'Reilley etc. have no credibility as journalists and prove it time and time again - so, ok they're not journalists - problem is that they comment at length on current affairs issues. A clear and informed discussion of these issues is vital to the proper functioning of democracy in the U.S - when the bias or incredible ignorance of Beck, Hannity, O'Reilly etc. inhibits that discussion, society has a big problem. So yeah, let's accept that these guys aren't journalists and move on to the real problem - they are a threat to the health of U.S democracy! If all they are is entertainers, let them talk about Christina Aguillera's voice and stop meddling in politics!
Wow between Beck calling her a B and Imus who calls her Satan its amazing how hateful these guys are.
Jimmy Carter does support terrorists. Did you read his book?
"It is imperative that the general Arab community and all significant Palestinian groups make it clear that they will end the suicide bombings and other acts of terrorism when international laws and the ultimate goals of the Roadmap for Peace are accepted by Israel."
He says it is ok to have suicide bombers blow up women and children until Israel capitulates.
He also has supported Hamas and other terror groups in general elections. Beck is dead on right when he said Khalid was trying to kill one of his own.
"He says it is ok to have suicide bombers blow up women and children until Israel capitulates."
<>Can you give us a page number where he says that?
Liar.
<>Page 213.
I haven't read Carter's book, but if page 213 is the page from which you quoted, then this doesn't constitute an endorsement or support of "terrorists." Carter is arguing that it is the responsibility of the general Arab community and of all significant Palestinian groups to guarantee an end to suicide bombings if peace is to be achieved. I can't imagine that you would disagree with that, would you?
You do know that one of the top ten "my bads" is to bear false witness correct?
I gave you the quote. Can you read the part that says they can stop the suicide bombers AFTER Israel decides to accept the peace plan??
This is why many of Carters staff members quit.
That's also how Melvin Konner read it. He's a respected anthropology professor at Emory University and had been asked to be part of an academic group meant to advise the former president and the Carter Center on how to respond to criticism of the book.
As Konner wrote to John Hardman, the center's executive director, in declining the invitation: "I cannot find any way to read this sentence that does not condone the murder of Jews until such time as Israel unilaterally follows President Carter's prescription for peace. The sentence, simply put, makes President Carter an apologist for terrorists and places my children, along with all Jews everywhere, in greater danger."
http://www.nypost.com/seven/01152007/postopinion/editorials/jimmy_for_terror_editorials_.htm
Certainly this is somehow Clinton's fault. How can you bring up Carter when it is always Clinton's (great economy, lowest unemployment, all indicators pointing in the right direction) fault.
This is why many of Carters staff members quit.
First, define "many." I'll help. It was 14. They were staff members. They were members of an advisory board to Carter's humanitarian aid organization. Wish I can find a total number of those involved with that organization, but I'll betcha it's a good bit more than 14.
And while I don't blame these advisors for quitting, as I understand it there's a fairly clear reason as to why those 14 quit. Further, I wish more Republicans had quit the Bush Administration over the past seven years.
Carter is entitled to his opinion, you yours, and Beck his. But Beck's isn't terribly well thought out.
They were staff members.
Dammit. They were NOT staff members, is what I meant. It's this keyboard. Not me. Really.
You are a liar there is nothing in that statement that implies support for terrorism. What they are doing is wrong but it IS happening and his point is obvious, that they make clear they will STOP their terrorism if dealt with fairly. They have every RIGHT be international law to armed resistance to occupation, they have NO right to terrorism but it IS happening, pretending it isnt wont address the point he was making. YOU ARE A LIAR.
Oh, them poor widdle Israelis. There they were, minding their own business, stealing other people's lands and walling them up in ghettos, when the big bad Palestinians suddenly attack them for no reason at all. Why can't those mean old Palestinians just let the Israelis beat, torture and abuse them in peace? Why must they struggle so?!
You know how you can tell a racist? They support brutal war criminal occupations.
I gave you the quote. Can you read the part that says they can stop the suicide bombers AFTER Israel decides to accept the peace plan??"It is imperative that the general Arab community and all significant Palestinian groups make it clear that they will end the suicide bombings and other acts of terrorism when international laws and the ultimate goals of the Roadmap for Peace are accepted by Israel."
If this is honestly the only way you see to parse this statement, you're making a serious error in logic. It says "when", not "when and only when".
The way an honest, thinking person would interpret the quote is that the Palestinians have to make it clear that if Israel plays ball with them they will stop the terrorism--almost, but not entirely, the exact opposite of what you're suggesting. The inverse of a statement does not logically follow from the stastement.
Dear LH,
"Hamas and other terror groups" is propaganda that you have swallowed whole. In the mid east they are considered heroes and defenders of the weak and oppressed, obviously the truth lies somewhere in the middle. Just because we hear "terrorist, terroorist" a thousand times a day does not change how the local population feels about Hamas. To not engage Hamas, to demonize them at every oppurtunity only prolongs the conflict.
"He says it is ok to have suicide bombers blow up women and children until Israel capitulates."
No, that is NOT what it says, although you're obviously not going to change your opinion of it. He's saying that it is imperative for the groups doing the suicide bombings to promise that those bombings will stop. Why would Israel want to sign a peace accord with these people if they're going to continue bombing ever after a peace agreement is signed?
Your intentional ignorance and drive to demonize anything left of center is absolutely sickening.
What's funny is that in about a week this dipstick will piss and moan about the "unprecedented hatred" the Left shows toward George Bush...watch for it.
Strangely, now when I try to imagine the embodiment of stereotypical bitchiness, the only person I come up with is Glenn Beck.
So if we were playing Family Feud and the question was "Name the Biggest Bitch in America" you don't think Hillary would be one of the top five answers?
Isn't that something that would be said by... Beck? Hey Becky Boy, i just knew you were posting on MMFA. Only a follower would say something that stupid and think it had any merit whatsoever.
You know, I might actually watch Family Feud if that was one of their survey questions.
Maybe if it was Inbred Family Feud...
Of course it would. You've got dozens upon dozens of right wing radio and TV programs promoting that meme, making Senator Clinton out to be anything from a bitch to the Boogey Man to a brilliant scheming murderer and a wimpy lesbian.
And pointing out that that sort of right wing propoganda WORKS is essentially THE PURPOSE OF THIS SITE.
So thanks for making that point. You did it quite well.
Well, she is a murderer....her votes have killed LOTS of people in Iraq.
With all due respect: no. And, frankly, to claim that a senator's vote is equivalent to murder is totally antidemocratic. Voting badly isn't murder, nor should it be considered so. It would be like saying that the bank teller who cashed a check for a guy who took the money and used it to buy a gun to shoot someone is guilty of murder. At worst, you can accurately say that the senator's votes contributed to the provision of political legitimacy for actions that resulted in deaths... but that's a far cry from murder.
I have no quarrel with you if you disagree with Clinton's vote; nor would I disagree that her vote contributed to a chain of events that resulted in unnecessary bloodshed. But I see no virtue in claiming that voting is murder.
"It would be like saying that the bank teller who cashed a check for a guy who took the money and used it to buy a gun to shoot someone is guilty of murder."
No, but giving a loaded gun to a psychopath would make you an accessory to murder, and that's what every politician in Washington did when they gave the Cowboy the ability to do anything he wanted in the name of "Tarrur." Yes, the Cowboy said he needed the gun to go kill a pest out in the backyard and that he'd use it responsibly, but it doesn't change the fact that they should have known better, should have asked more questions, and failed in their responsibility to both protect this nation and to consider the lives of hundreds of thousands of people overseas that would be destroyed by a series of piss-poor decisions in crafting American foreign policy.
She was one of many that wrote this administration a blank check when they knew he wasn't worthy of their trust. All of them need to be held accountable for the damage they've contributed to.
Top five....
1 Ann Coulter
2 Katherine Harris
3 Barbara Bush
4 Kyle's Mom from South Park
5 Dick Morris
*sings*
She's the biggest bitch in the whole wide world, a bitch to all the boys and girls!
True. I put Kyle's mom at number 1 personally.
(Warning: link contains Beck-type language)
The first name I think of is Ann Coulter.
Hillary was second on my list, Rosie O'Donnell was #1.
Even though I like Anne Coulter, I'd still probably put her
at #3.
Dick Chenney and Donald Rumsfeld would have to be two of the biggest bitches, hands down.
"So if we were playing Family Feud and the question was 'Name the Biggest Bitch in America' you don't think Hillary would be one of the top five answers?"
-----
Perhaps, if the contestants were idiots.
c'mon, love hillary but her voice is a bit shrill. far less distasteful than the shrubs with his pseudo yankee west texas dysphonic syntax, but the worst is becks who seems likes he's pinching off a foot long turd. ickkkkkkkk
We have the Unholy Trinity in the White House of Bush, Cheney and Rove and now we can add the Unholy Trinity of Television Pundits.....Patty, (Beck) Maxie (O'Rielly) and Laverne (Limbaugh) commentators...
Wonder how these good ole boys would feel if some one called their mom a "bitch"....Sure wish we had Edward R Murrow back on the news..
Do not understand why this news group feel we care what they think and you have to wonder what type of person feels they have anything valuable to say?
"and now we can add the Unholy Trinity of Television Pundits.....Patty, (Beck) Maxie (O'Rielly) and Laverne (Limbaugh) commentators..."
-----
Patty, Maxine, and Laverne: The Android Sisters.
If Beck had used any other bigoted slur about a person's race or religion he would be off the air. If he had a daughter or wife running for political office, would he want their opponents to refer to them in a similar fashion? Yet he can denigrate women in general & Clinton in particular with impunity. How does this misogynistic talk contribute to political discourse? If his disagreements with Clinton are so shallow that he can't generate intelligent arguments without resorting to a 6th grade tactic, he shouldn't have a forum on TV or radio news. He is clearly overpaid for this tripe.
by "I don't think i could take it" is he implying suicide or migrateing to another country?
If voteing for Hillary gets the nut jobs on the right to self destruct then I'm game.
ps. Hey progressives...quit bashing on Hillary (young turks) stay focused. We still have to win.
But Hillary is on the enemy's side. She's not a liberal progressive, she's a right-wing reactionary in the pay of corporate fascism and Isreal. Putting her into any office is not victory...she's not for the cause. She's against it.
"Hey progressives...quit bashing on Hillary"
Unlike the Right-wingers, you'll find that the left wing of American politics expects some form of integrity from their leaders, and will criticize them when they rightly deserve it. This is not "bashing" - this is discussion and should never be silenced. Just because the Right will circle their wagons around crooks and liars does not mean that we should be expected to do the same with candidates of lesser integrity and quality.
No, Glenn, we can not make this about you. The 300 millionth piece of the country that is (metaphorically) yours as a citizen is still more than you deserve. You are the stereotypical sexist. Go to America, where it's still okay to say stuff like that!
Oh, wait, we're in...
Hillary's voice isn't bitchy enough, IMO. Too bad she doesn't have Rosie O'Donnell's booming voice.
CNNs' resident clown speaks (sadly) yet again.
Alleged "thinker", Christian (he models good Christian values don't you think?) and certifiable coward Glenn Beck now admits he's a pig.
Glenn - honesty is the first step towards recovery...and yes you are a pig.
I should say that Mr. Beck has really irritated me for quite some time now but lately I've started laughing at his comments. Dig deep into the MMFA archives for the stories about Mr. Beck starting his show on CNN. IIRC he made the comment, something along the lines of, "CNN will fire me in four months, guaranteed." But it never happened (Why the hell not?) They should have never hired this guy in the first place but he's here *throws arms up into the air* and CNN doesn't seem to care what he says. And I think that's what I'm laughing at, laughing at what this guy can say and get away with... of course maybe it's CNN I'm laughing at.To be honest, this story had me rolling on the floor laughing. It's so Jerry Springer'ish, everything about it is juvenile and third grade. I can only imagine the fits of laughter that Glenn and the producers of the show find themselves in before each show. There must be a fatalist attitude in the studio, the run they've had has been good and anything more is just gravy; it's all on borrowed time anyways.RIP Ted Turner.. You built a half-decent network cable channel years ago, tried your best and had to leave. Now look at what's happened since those days.
They're too busy selling Time/Warner products to care.
That is almost enough to get this Democrat to vote for Hillery. If it means we would get rid of Glen Beck, I say let's go for it.
i heard beck say that while driving today. my kids sounded more mature than this guy when they were 12. but he figures running that inane babble was infinately better than facing up to any of the 9 scandals currently plaguing the repubs. good way to waste time on his show.
Poor Glenn Beck. We've been forced to listen to Dubya for the past six years, and he is completely unlistenable to. When Dubya starts talking, I tune out. He is such a weasely dishonest lying snake oil salesman. Now Glenn Beck knows what the rest of us have been forced to put up with for the past six years.
Glenn should start getting used to listening to Hillary for the next eight years. At least, as president, she will try to communicate honestly and intelligently with the American people. Unlike the present incumbent.
It's high time to Put a Brain Back in the White House.
So Premiere Radio is after the buzz caused by Ann Coulter's FG bomb hurled at Edwards, huh? They need a boost in Beck's ratings or something? Perhaps hoping to catch a secondary wind if Beck can get higher speaking fees for being the center of a media blitz on calling a US Senator a "bitch"?
Good to know. Glad I don't listen to any Premiere Radio Network program as it is.
The Pot Call The Kettle Black
If you listen closely, Glen Beck is referring to himself when he talks about Hillary Clinton. Especially when he mimics Carter's son voice. Well Beck has nothing substantial so he is resorted to name calling and begging. Is that a first? I mean the begging?
I remember when CNN had class. Beck's kind did not have a place among the quality associated with the network back in the day.
Today, Beck is all CNN can come up with since they found out racist people watch a lot of TV. Name calling is the fad the racist use to feel good about. For them, it is a form of self esteem building. Whatever Becks says you are, he is not. The only thing bad about such a dysfunctional form of self esteem building is you always need to have someone with a fault to talk about. When they have no one to talk about, they resort to their gut, in this case self, and project their own character flaws on to others. "I don't want it you take it."
Joseph
Right on, Glenn!!! Call 'em like you see 'em. Don't stop being you just because you're getting flack from all these linguine-spined liberals.
YES you go Glen, call it like you see it! WHOOT WHOOT WHOOT!
Don't talk about her platform, her voting record or anything of substance. Let's just talk about all the potential candidates based off of how we feel about them personally, what their voice sounds like, how much time they spend combing their hair, or how fa**gotty they might be.
This shouldn't surprise..... Wasn't there some survey about the number of people that vote for Bush because he is likeable and they could imagine drinking a beer with him?
Yes! It sure takes a helluva manly man, with a lotta spine, backbone, and a big, big d!ck to call a woman a "bitch" from the seclusion of a radio studio and not to her face.
That's right Glenn, keep it up. The Republicans need more political distraction. We just learned that Republican Congressmen were tossed off of committees because they had the audacity to request increased VA funding back in 2004. Keep those asinine sophomoric statements coming, Glenn...we wouldn't want gullible people like Leatherhelmnut and Freakycreep to realize they've been duped.
Glen clearly has a problem with strong women. I suspect he's one of those henpecked types who blames his misery on the women in his life rather than on his personal lack of fortitude. If he were more confident in his masculinity he wouldn't make statements like this.
Hey Glenn, if you don't like Hillary, tell us why. And don't say "It's her vocal range." I've got no problem with you calling her a bit**, as long as you can back up why you are calling her that. OK, I do have a problem with you calling her that, but at least come up with some valid criticisms as opposed to how she sounds you stupid imp. This is the discourse being pushed by the right wingers on TV and radio? Tragically, it's sad, and tragically, it will be listened to and regurgitated and some will listen and believe.
Well, the level of discourse on this thread is about equal to the weightiness of this issue.
I don't believe jokes made at the expense of a candidate constitute right-wing, or left-wing misinformation, unless they are egregiously in bad tast (the one about Carter being on Khalid Shaikh Mohammed's side is, or comes close). In point of fact, I think there is something vaguely irritating about Hillary's voice. It may have to do with not being naturally loud, but being forced.
I think MMFA is a little too quick to come to Hillary's defense, though they were certainly right to do so when, for example, the spurious "madrassa" story about Obama was attributed to her.
(BTW if Leatherhelmet can't read that passage from Carter's book any way other than condoning terrorism--so emphatically *NOT* what this book is about--he has serious comprehension problems. I tend to think, though, that it is more in the way of the very sort of malicious slander this site was founded to prevent. In other words, the exerpt this thread refers to may not contain right-wing misinformation, but the comments do).
I would argue that part of MMFA's job is to keep the spotlight on the Rightwing liars in general, even if they are only making outrageous statements. Certainly, Glenn Beck has every right to make such statements, but the fact that a major news network gives this douchebag a nightly forum is, I think, a symptom of the overall decay of journalism in this country. I know they have a lot of space to fill, but can't they do better than him?
Gives this douchebag a nightly forum? Hell, they PAY him to say such things. glen beck is living in a big house that he pays someone else to maintain, drives nice cars, doesn't have to worry about saving for retirement, and doesn't care about the cost of medical insurance precisely because someone thought paying him to say ignorant things would be a good investment, bringing in lots of viewers, and resulting in mountains of advertising revenue.
Give people straight news? That's just treading water. CNN could probably hire 3 reporters to fill his time slot for less than they're paying him, but they wouldn't get the viewers. People can get their news from any of a dozen news networks, plus newspapers, radio, magazines, and they can use the google on the internets. CNN needs an exclusive source of viewers, one that nobody else has. That's beck. They're following the Fox model which fills large gaps of factual news with exclusive sources of controversial opinion, (o'reilly, hannity, cavuto, hume, etc.). They have no sense of responsibility to inform the public, their "real news" segments are only there to impart a sense of credibility. And with the hiring of each "commentator", they slip farther from being news networks and more toward the "reality show" realm, on par with fear factor and survivor.
So for their purposes, CNN could maybe do better than him - but only with, say, a coulter, or limbaugh, or malkin, or hewitt, or....?
It's a sad state of affairs, to be sure. You'd think that a hard-hitting investigative show would do well, especially if they had the balls to turn the microscope on the Bush administration and expose, once and for all, how they lied and manipulated the intelligence leading up to the Iraq War. Maybe the public at large just doesn't want to know.
HELP! Glenn just called Hillary a bitch on the radio. Write to CNN, tell them you are not watching their network as long as he is on. Write to thier sponsors. We have to stop this a-hole. Enough hate is ENOUGH!!!
I am fairly new to this website so forgive me if this question seems way out of line but - Is there a single thread that talks about the Correct things Glenn Beck has said?? Regardless of all the nonsense he say on a regular basis, there are some issues that he seems to genuinely feels strong about and he beleives in what he says. Should he get credit where credit is deserved? or does the stupid things he says cancel those out??
Click "About Us" and read this site's mission statement.
To hear about what a great, wonderful human being Glenn Beck is, just listen to Glenn Beck.
...there are some issues that he seems to genuinely feels strong about and he beleives in what he says.
Just like the drunken nut on the street corner.
Is he back from South America and Mexico already?
No one should be surprised that this program is successful, we live in a country where "31% of the public believes in astrology". Why such a high number? I don't know for sure, but they are obviously idiots. Every astrology publication at the check out counter has disclaimer that the publication is for "entertainment purposes" only. Yet, for 40 years I have seen the valuable space allotted for these astrology pamphlets increase. Americans love to hear that all the bad news in the world is not thier fault and not their responsibility, what really matters is why Spears shaved her head. We deserve Glenn Beck, one can hear conversations that sound like a transcript of his show at almost any bar in rural areas. Maybe suburban and urban too, but I don't frequent bars except here in west bum Fu67K Colorado.

Lack of education is what drives all this drivel. If you don't know that gravity is inversely proportional how will you know that your wallet exerts millions of times more force on you than Mars?
If you don't know that gravity is inversely proportional how will you know that your wallet exerts millions of times more force on you than Mars?
Awesome! I plan to use that analogy under the Fair Use doctrine.
Carter has said repeatedly he decries terrorism. He's been slandered because he had the audacity to say the Palestinians might have a grievance. But Carter is a true Christian, and Christ said people would revile those who followed his teachings. Glen Beck is annoying because he thinks he is so funny. He says "Here's what I know," and then delivers some illogical conclusion, marveling at his brilliant insight. Could you imagine working with a dingbat like that?
