Savage on "hate group" Media Matters: "The noose will wind up around their neck, not mine"
On the July 13 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio program, Michael Savage responded to controversy surrounding remarks he made on his July 5 broadcast about a hunger strike by a group of California students that was highlighted in an item by Media Matters for America. The hunger strike was in support of a federal provision in the recently defeated immigration reform bill (S.1639) called the DREAM Act, which would provide a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants who arrived in the U.S. as children. After playing an audio clip of a student stating that some of the illegal immigrant students were studying engineering, Savage said, "[L]et them fast until they starve to death" and "Go make a bomb where you came from." The San Francisco Chronicle reported July 13 that more than 30 demonstrators appeared outside San Jose City Hall and called for local radio stations that air Savage's program to apologize for Savage's comments. Savage responded to the article, which quoted Media Matters Media Relations Director Karl Frisch, by describing Media Matters as "a radical homosexual group that continuously tries to get me fired, and they're never going to succeed. The noose will wind up around their neck, not mine."
Savage played the audio clip of his original remarks from the Media Matters website, saying, "I'm actually going to play what I said because it was recorded by a hate group that records much of my show and distorts it. But I want to thank this hate group run by homosexual radical activists for recording it because we wouldn't have it otherwise." Later, Savage responded to a caller who mentioned the quote from Frisch that appeared in the Chronicle article by saying, "[T]his character that they quote is from a radical homosexual group that continuously tries to get me fired, and they're never going to succeed. The noose will wind up around their neck, not mine." Savage has previously referred to Media Matters as "a group of gay Mafioso" and "a gay smear sheet."
The Savage Nation reaches more than 8 million listeners each week, according to Talkers Magazine, making it the third-most-listened-to talk radio show in the nation, behind only The Rush Limbaugh Show and The Sean Hannity Show.
From the July 13 edition of Talk Radio Network's The Savage Nation:
SAVAGE: A couple of weeks ago, on July whatever, 3rd, 4th, 5th -- I don't remember what -- a group of illegal alien students were protesting. They wanted something for nothing. They wanted something they're not entitled to. They wanted us to cater to them, and they went on a hunger strike. Well, hunger strikes -- I don't know how many -- have any people ever died from a hunger strike that you know of? As far as I can tell, the very same people who wanted us to be shocked by their hunger strike are nicely fed right now and protesting, demanding that Michael Savage be fired after saying on the air about fasting supporters of an immigration reform bill, "Let them fast till they starve to death." Now, I didn't actually say that they should be killed. I never said we should starve them to death. I said that if they want to martyr themselves by fasting, let them martyr themselves by fasting. They're on their own self-destructive path. They were starving themselves, I wasn't starving them, and they have every right to starve themselves to death. And apparently that got the illegal alien community stirred up because Mark Silverman, the so-called attorney who is behind all of this, as far as I can tell, has told them that I'm scheduled -- I should be fired.
[...]
SAVAGE: Well, I'll tell you what I'm going to have to do. I'm actually going to play what I said because it was recorded by a hate group that records much of my show and distorts it. But I want to thank this hate group run by homosexual radical activists for recording it because we wouldn't have it otherwise.
[...]
SAVAGE: Now we're going to actually play the statement that I made on July 5th. Let me think -- tell you what: You listen to it. I play, you decide. Go ahead.
SAVAGE [audio clip]: Then there's the story of college students who are fasting out here in the Bay Area. They're illegal aliens and they want green cards simply because they're students. I don't understand what -- how this two and two adds up. I would say, let them fast until they starve to death, then that solves the problem. Because then we won't have a problem about giving them green cards because they're illegal aliens; they don't belong here to begin with. They broke into the country; they're criminals. Why do I owe them a green card? Because they're going to my colleges for free? This makes no sense at all.
SAVAGE: All right, well there it is. So -- oh, there's more? Go ahead, listen to this.
[begin audio clip]
UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: -- want Congress to pass an immigration reform bill that includes the DREAM Act, a clause that would give undocumented college graduates the opportunity to become legal. They are fasting for four days to show solidarity.
UNIDENTIFIED STUDENT: We have engineers who are still waiters. And they are just waiting for the DREAM Act to be enacted --
[end audio clip]
SAVAGE: All right, we've heard enough of the sob-sister stuff.
[...]
CALLER: Dr. Savage, I'm completely outraged today, the Silverman thing aside, that in the Chronicle, they failed to -- well, they allowed the distortion of your view when they're quoting Karl Frisch in that you are known as a person for his anti-immigration views. It doesn't even -- they don't even take the time to note that it's illegal immigration, and the clue that it's illegal immigration --
SAVAGE: Yeah, this character that they quote is from a radical homosexual group that continuously tries to get me fired, and they're never going to succeed. The noose will wind up around their neck, not mine, I can guarantee you. If they keep trying this, that train is going to go in the tunnel, they're going to come out, and the noose will be on their neck, not mine.
CALLER: Well, I appreciate your outrage today, because when read that, I was hoping that you would hit the wire as live and as hot as you are today. I appreciate it.
SAVAGE: Well, who's going to defend me if I don't? Tell me who's going to stand up for me, my representative Barbara Boxer?

Weiner dog just sounds attention starved.
MMFA documents Savage's own words, verbatim, with taped evidence of what he has said.
This qualifies MMFA as a "HATE GROUP."
"I'm actually going to play what I said because it was recorded by a hate group that records much of my show and distorts it."
And HOW do you distort an actual recording of a show?
The way I distort him is to do thing where you move the record album back and forth on the turn table at the start of his monologues. Makes those neat VRRP VRRP sounds.
Ever notice that almost every time a right-wing wacko (such as Savage/Weiner, Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, etc) gets caught in a lie or saying something outlandish (like suggesting that a Supreme Courth Justice be poisoned or that Mecca should be nuked), they claim they were "quoted out of context"?
I think the way I would do it is decontextualize the fragment I record, and recontextualize by adding editorial content. I'm not defending Savage, I'm saying that by adding editorial content with a distinct bias against the person quoted it's not difficult to distort what that person said without changing a word. It's a subtle distortion, but effective.
There's not enough gay in the whole world to make Weiner sound fabulous. He'll have to be satisfied with sounding like a school teacher in a Peanuts cartoon: "Wamp wamp wamp wamp wamp."
Uhhhhh......mixed metaphors.
Can you hang a train?
"If they keep trying this, that train is going to go in the tunnel, they're going to come out, and the noose will be on their neck, not mine."
Well after reading Weiner's metaphor and the claimed number of people who listen to him (I did a little research and seriously question the "8 million" number), on thing is apparent.
Our nation's educational system is in deep trouble. If this passes for "logic" on the right wing......I see this image of the afterlife, a great room filled with Socrates, Shakespeare, Twain and others weeping.
"Yeah, this character that they quote is from a radical homosexual group that continuously tries to get me fired, and they're never going to succeed. The noose will wind up around their neck, not mine, I can guarantee you."
That to me sounds like an extreme right-wing homophobic megalomaniac in distress.
Savage was right about the protesting illegal immigrants.
Illegal immigrants should not be allowed to get in-state tuition when Americans from other states don't. It is common sense.
Moreover, these illegals get minority status and therefore affirmative action benefits. That's insane!!!
If they want to start a hunger strike. I hope they starve too.
"I hope they starve too."
Hence the word "compassionate" in "compassionate conservative"...
Don't you think the Native Americans would've loved some border control to prevent the white illegal immigration, while we're at it? You reap what you sow - now THAT'S common sense!
so, the most powerful nation in the world should not enforce the border and immigration laws because 16th century native Americans couldn't do it? That's insane thinking my friend.
Nice read. I'm sure that classes are offered at your nearby community college that would help you hone your common sense skills.
Aren't you guys at all embarrassed that you'll follow any bigot with a radio show? "DOCTOR" Savage's degree is in nutrition. So he is basically a vitamin peddler. That would make you a bigoted-vitamin-peddler follower.
And by the way, this isn't an ad hominem attack, his message is as bogus as he is.
Hey, "mega-dolt" stated "you reap what you sow - now thats common sense." That clearly shows that our friend thinks America is getting what it deserves with illegal immigrants running rampant. Since we are getting what we deserve according to megadolt, he is basically stating that we should be as inefficient as the indians because we deserve it. Asinine.
Yet you fail to aknowledge any of my points concernig Savage, and those foolish enough to follow him. . .
You don't have any points. You just made fun of him for having a doctorate in nutrition, calling him a vitamin peddler. Thats all you people on here do until a Savage supporter comes on here and actually brings up the issue at hand. Seriously, next Savage article that gets posted on here...try to catch about the first 20 comments made. They are typically just personal attacks and dumb jokes such as vitamin peddler. Unless you are claiming something like that is point?
My point is this:
The far right wing is so desperate to find sombody--anybody who will lend some sort of credability to their bigoted nutty viewpoints that they are willing to folow; Micahel Savage--a closeted, golddigging, herb doctor; Rush Limbaugh--a draft dodging, drug addicted, womanizing, bigoted, college dropout; Bill O'reilly--a phone sex addict who seldom get's his facts right.
Sometimes it's just too easy.
Again, attacks on personal shortcomings. I fail to see how just because someone is an herb doctor or a womanizer, it means they somehow are unable to present news. I mean, I truely believe if you listened to Savage's show every day and heard some of the investigative reports and current events that are brought to the table, you would start to see reality. Tune out the hard-right bias from Savage and Rush, and look at the current events...you might begin to realize their are more important things to talk about than gays and 30 illegal protestors.
If I listen, can you promise me that I won't have to become a bigot?
Yes, really you dont have to. I'm done arguing here because I think you're a good person even though I don't agree with most of what you believe in. Its a funny thing...I used to be an agnostic liberal, and I feel that I was more intolerant during that point in my life because I got stuck up in my liberal ways. I started listening to Savage and Limbaugh, and they brought forward reality to me in the form of non-PC news stories and non-PC commentary. So, I'm changed, and I realize that some of what Savage says can be very offensive to people, but thats what free speech is all about. It's a shame that MMFA isn't in the business of occasionally pointing out when Savage defends the innocent, minorities, various religions, the environment, and animal rights...because it happens quite often.
You used to be a "agnostic liberal?" You are a liar.
You claim you were "more intolerant" because you were "stuck up" in your liberal ways. Then you started listening to two racist, homophobic, xenophobic, hypocrites and you became...? The way you write it would seem that "more tolerant" would be what you were hinting at but since that's a ludicrous outcome you simply say "non-PC?" But you do say you're less intolerant now. How does that work exactly?
And why do you righties always whine about "PC" things anyway? And why does that whining always seem to go hand-in-hand with wanting to say something extremely racist, homophobic etc. What "PC" stuff made you "intolerant?" I want to know. But I assume you're full of it so I don't expect a real answer.
It sounds like ALL the whining is coming from the left, not the right. WHAT did Dr. Savage say that was incorrect or even misinformation? The whining is coming from you and the others because what he said is his personal opinion and there are 8 million listeners who appreciate to hear what he has to say. Maybe none of them agree with him, but at least they are willing to give him a forum to express his opinions. You don't like it? Don't listen to him. That is certainly your right. You left-wingers whine like little girls everyday he is on because you say he spews hate, yet every left-winger on this forum spews as much if not more hatred and bigotry toward him and his listeners than would be allowed on public airwaves. And you call him the bigot!?!
I guess the old saying comes into play on this one.... it takes one to know one.
"...radical homosexual group" --Savage.
Hmmm? No misinformation?
He smears those with whom he disagrees, spreads hate, and lies by saying he was taken out of context.
MMFA plays an actual clip of what he said, then we express our dislike for his hatred and intollerance.
NOW, you say we're the haters because we write things he could never get away with saying on the air. I'll remind you that WE ARE NOT ON THE AIR !!!
You guys are one odd collective piece of work. In essence you're saying Savage should be able to say whatever he wants since it's his opinion, but MMFA posters (with whom you disagree) are vile and shouldn't speak out against him. It baffles me why so many of you will defend the right to spread AM hate.
I have nothing against this webiste existing, or the people who post on here; despite the fact that I disagree with everything this site stands for. They are more than welcome to hold views as far left as Savage is far right. However, what I fail to see any good liberal/progressive on this site mention is that Savage is protected by freedom of speech, and we should celebrate the fact that we all have that. Instead, I see "Savage should be thrown off the radio waves." If you believe that, you need to move to Venezuela where chavez shuts down opposition media outlets...thats right up your alley!
Oh Johnny, even if you had some information to share that would explaing your use of the phrase "illegal immigrants running rampant.", there still would remain the FACT, that Savage expressly advocated the death of lawful protesters. You can seriously support him in is desire to see some kids die?
If someone is stupid enough to starve themself to death because the government of the country they do not belong to won't give them a free pass to citizenship, then they will inevitably die because of their freely chosen actions. Don't twist the words, Savage only said "let them die." In a free country, those illegals freely chose to starve themselves, therefore freely chose to starve to death for their "cause." Of course, they werent really committed to their cause because they did not finish their protest. Maybe the extreme hunger knocked some common sense into them.
Extreme hunger brought them here in the first place ! ! !
And now since they have lived off the fat of our land, they should return to their home country with the skills and talents they have gained here.
Right, like they don't have to eat NEXT week.
Apparently not since they are voluntarily starving themselves.
What person with a brain would take this course of action? "I'm in this country illegally, and i just got a great education here. This man offended me when he used his freedom to speech. I'm offended and illegal, so i'm not going to eat until he gets fired!"
Are we sure these bright youngsters graduated college?
If they are Latino, since latino are a minority group in the US ofcourse they would be classified as such. Not that they should be allowed to do such, but the logic behind them doing so is not complicated.
SAVAGE: Well, who's going to defend me if I don't? Tell me who's going to stand up for me
Savage in response to your statement above I would like to use your own words:
SAVAGE: All right, we've heard enough of the sob-sister stuff.
The nice thing about Savage is that you really don't have to say much about him....he skewers himself with his own words, time and time again.
Dr Savage? That has got to be a Joke!
Read my post above
You see, a hate group is any group that Savage hates.
His hat is on too tight.
Well I guess the good news is, he didn't call MMFA a bunch of Nazis.
So let me get this straight [no pun intended] These radical homosexuals are going to go through a train tunnel and end up hanging themselves along the way.
All righty then...
Seriously this guy actually has a huge audience?
While my views on ILLEGAL immigration do somewhat mirror Savage's...I certainly do not wish for anyone to starve to death.
I demand that Michael Savage be fired... The guy can't even put together a good metaphor. Beyond that... he adds absolutely nothing to the discourse. To the powers that be... PLEASE fire Michael Savage. Thank you.
Not to mention... as if it weren't already painfully apparent... this guy has a SERIOUS problem with homosexuals -- ah, can you say closeted? Weiner needs to find himself a good therapist... better yet, a good, sympathetic boyfriend (if he doesn't already have one) and ... just HEAL. This man is a walking DSM.
what is it with you left wingers and your obsession with acusing savage of being gay? There isn't a hidden meaning behind his words, he just does not agree with the homosexual movement. I have the same views on gays as him, and I can verify that I'm straight as an arrow... Also, mmfa constantly avoids posting any audio clips of conservative gays that call in and agree with savage on various issues...and when savage explicitly states that he does not hate gay individuals, he just despises their far left movements that most American families do not support.
You're kidding...right?
Let's see, oh where to start...
MSNBC fired him after he told a gay caller to "Get aids and die."
Need more?
You forget to mention that Savage was provoked when the caller took a personal shot at him on national television, and the AIDS line was in response to that. I'm not excusing that kind of talk on television, but I hear much more disturbing things said by my liberal friends, and liberal protestors for various causes. You people jsut like to crucify Savage for 1 measly line because you disagree with him. Thats fine, he's got a bigger audience now than he did on MSNBC.
One line? Check MMFA's web site for all of the anti-gay insults this sorry excuse for a human has uttered on the air, not to mention his hate filled rhetoric about anyone or anything he doesn't agree with.
Bigger audience? So what? That just means there's a lot of bigots out there who crave this type of speech. Instead of defending him, you should be speaking out against him--unless of course you agree with him. If that's the case--shame on you!
Yes, shame on me for only supporting the traditional family, its such a terrible thing. Shame on me for wanting all the illegals in America deported. They drain us socially and economically, and all they do in return is spit in our face and call us racists for not agreeing with their every demand. Shame on me for agreeing with Savage when he points out that those carrying out terrorist attacks are young muslim men of mostly middle eastern decent, and that they should be viewed as more of a threat than an irish nun. Shame on me for living in the real world rather than the liberal utopia.
Okay, now I agree with everyhing you just wrote.
Haha.
"I may disagree with what you have to say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." - If we can all just remind ourselves of this every once and a while, we could get along much easier.
Lets change a couple of words in that quote:
"I may disagree with who you are, but I will defend to the death your right to be who you are."
Doe's that still work for you?
In a nutshell, yes it does actually.
"I'm not excusing that kind of talk on television, but I hear much more disturbing things said by my liberal friends, and liberal protestors for various causes."
Really Like what?
"A huge noose with tons of leftists somehow stuck in it would be a truely humorous kodak moment."
john174541842 / Tuesday July 17, 2007 11:10:05 AM EST
I've seen protestors in chicago holding signs promoting the death penatly for george bush for "war crimes." I hear and see numerous hate filled comments and signs/bumper stickers attacking bush/cheney, conservatives in general. Those just come to my mind quickly....
www.hannity.com/forums/
I've seen far worse from the right. Would you like me to start a list? I will if you really want it.
It's not right on either side, but don't pretend that the right is justified and the left is evil and hateful.
Neither do I, but your question "Really Like what?" made it seem like you were unaware of the left making hatefilled comments and calling for death of individuals.
For every verified incident you could provide, I'm sure I would easily find 3 equally if not worse incidents from your side. You brought up the fact that you see far worse from the left as to imply the the left is worse which makes the right's offenses excusable.
Well, it was not my intention to imply that. I simply wanted to point out that we could go back and forth with hateful comments from each side.
The left is nowhere NEAR the right in the hate arena. Wienerdog called for us to kill one hundred million Muslims beceaus he was tired of hearing there wre one billion of them. Ann Coulter said the way to talk to a liberal is AFTER you beat them with a baseball bat. Cough up an example of leftists IN THE MEDIA, that was a nice dodge equating anonymous protesters advocating execution through the legal system with the hatred spewed by the right calling for outright murder but it doesnt stand up to scrutiny. The right OWNS hate and advocation of violence. The left isnt even on the radar.
Neocons on a Cruise: What Conservatives Say When They Think We Aren't Listening
Wow! I read the entire article and it is fascinating and very very disturbing. These obviously disturbed people attending this cruise are the very same people that write and read books calling Liberals mentally ill, boy the irony;and is Ward Connelly a pathetic figure or what? He's arguing on behalf of the downtrodden KKK, the very people had they had their way would have shipped Connelly's Black ass to Africa, where he would have been among Black people that he's so contemptuous of. This was a floating mental asylum.
Definitely an insight into the sick and twisted racist minds of the "conservative" movement. Thank you for the link.
How much were those protesters getting paid, and how much air time were they given to air their views?
In Weiner's case, it's six figures and three hours a day, no?
"I can verify that I'm straight as an arrow..."- john174541842
That's OK.No verification needed.
I don't know HBL, maybe we should get a verifier who could just give us a nod afterward. Otherwise, how can we really be sure?
"I can verify that I'm straight as an arrow..."
I don't knowww... if you feel the need to have to SAY it and qualify yourself says alot about your insecurity in both yourself and your sexual orientation...
Just sayin...
"I have the same views on gays as him, and I can verify that I'm straight as an arrow"-john
Just exactly what are you going to do to "verify" that?
Do you really want to know?!
Have you SEEN his big stack of porn?
"Methinks thou dost protest too much..." Ever heard that? The fact that you claim Weiner's behavior is 'normal' says much more about you than any so-called 'lefty' commenting on the obvious.
One of his books was a work of fiction called Vital Signs, in which the protagonist wrestles with his attraction to masculine beauty. "I choose to override my desires for men when they swell in me", Weiner wrote, "waiting out the passions like a storm, below decks."
The "doctor" is IN
LoL! Awesome. In his own words, no less!
It would have to be one heck of a big noose to get all of us together. Anybody know where he graduated from ?
what a pointless comment that failed to be funny or add anything constructive to the conversation
Uh, excuse me Johnny, but we'll decide what is funny around here. ;)
Your right, I did just see the humor in it. A huge noose with tons of leftists somehow stuck in it would be a truely humorous kodak moment.
You see, what really gets to me is that you people take this gay stuff so seriously. Never mind that every terrorism expert agrees that Al-Queda is now stronger than pre-9/11 and will carry out another attack. Let's not worry about addressing a real threat to our human rights...our right to life! Let's talk about how the gays might be offended because Ole' Savage said some offensive things. And I know at least one of you scum will respond by saying "boo-hoo, the mean terrorists, time to cry and run to mommy." I'm going to fly through the roof when i see that. Addressing real threats to the American way of life has nothing to do with fear, you blockheads. If you ever want to be able to marry your boyfriends, you might want to focus on de-railing potential dirty bombs from going off in your city first. I can't believe how activist people like you are so out of touch with the realities that face this country.
Now you're sounding like a scared little man. 'Boo hoo the terrorists are coming, better run to mommy.'
The fact is, this tread is about Savage calling this web site a gay smear site--it's not about terrorists.
Now, that doesn't mean that there shouldn't be a discussion concerning terrorism, but this isn't the place. There will be plenty of threads exposing right wing nut cases misinformation about terrorism in the future, and I'll rip you up on those when the time is right.
But for now, how does it feel to be a follower of a bigoted herb doctor. If he started saying; "Quack, quack," would you too?
If anybody needs a real life illustration of the effectiveness of propaganda, check out our friend john767647366.
Pretty easy for the government to convince some Americans that certain civil rights are trivial by creating a little "terror".
They've got him wondering how anybody could be concerned about discrimination by telling him there's a dirty bomb around every corner.
Here's Johnny, Guess what Juany? Poke around here and you will see the same posters putting up detailed, well thought out and factualy based opinions on many subjects. It's called multi tasking. Just because we get all in a dither over Savage and his ridiculous rants does'nt mean we are'nt constantly vigilant for young middle eastern men in mercedes or big yellow Ryder trucks, lurking around.
"Al-Queda is now stronger than pre-9/11 and will carry out another attack."
Yes, well, that happens when we have a leader that vows to get bin Laden "dead or alive" and instead grants him safe passage to Pakistan, abandons the hunt for him, and creates a leadership and security void in Iraq, enrages Muslims everywhere by torturing and occupying them, and establishes a perfect al Qaeda recruiting station (where 5 years ago they were nowhere to be found) in the dregs of what was once a stable, secular, disarmed Iraq.
You bet we'll have another attack while this administration greases the wheels. It will be the only way W's cabal will be able to gut the rest of our freedoms.
"Yes, well, that happens when we have a leader that vows to get bin Laden "dead or alive" and instead grants him safe passage to Pakistan, abandons the hunt for him"
- I think you may have forgotten about when we had bin laden in our crosshairs during the Clinton administration, and our men were told to hold fire as bin laden got away. So, although Bush has been a complete failure when it comes to handling this war...you need to ask yourself "How would history be different if Clinton had ordered bin laden shot dead when we had him?"
All politicians fail to serve and protect the American people.
So... you're saying we should support our President as he implements policies which have and will contribute to the increasing threat?
That would be stupid.
Actually I tried to find out and all that came up is that he sells balloons.
I have to agree, John. Although Wolf's was good, your previous self verifying post about your being "Straight as an arrow" takes the humor prize for this thread.
After all, if you can't believe an anonymous poster, who can you believe?
OK, all of you ! I'm warming up my Straight Arrow Express RV, and will be going on a cross country tour to verify the heterosexuality of each and every one of you !
Especially my own, which I will verify with my own signed statement and authentic-looking testimonials from thousands and thousands of satisfied and exhausted dames.
What hope is there for me and Val?
Both of us outed over the weekend. I'm going to see my preacher and see if the Lord can drive me back to the straight and narrow. It worked for Ted Haggard, why not for me?
Welcome back, worrierking. Yes, you and Valentinian were both conspicuously absent from this site right around fabulous gay hat day.Sorry we had to out you, but it's the first step towards getting "repaired".
The next question is what have you done with Duncan and Col. Roy Campbell ? If you're recruiting here, we may need to step up the straight-as-an-arrow verification program.
Step over to window 8.
I'm just hoping that I won't be "straight as an arrow" during my pre-verification physical exam. I've heard the doctor giving the exams is one handsome man.
And I've got some sad news to report. Col. Roy had a complete mental breakdown and is now institutionalized. He is on a suicide watch due to Microsoft's refusal to release "Metal Gear 4" for the Xbox 360 and their consistent reliability problems with the new console.
You are wrong Michael Savage. The noose WILL wind up around YOUR neck by advertisers who will pull their ads from your nutty show. The market will decide your fate.
Your right, its been deciding it since 1994, and his business is booming you fool.
Lots of bucks in the bigotry game isn't there?
If they keep trying this, that train is going to go in the tunnel, they're going to come out, and the noose will be on their neck, not mine.
I'm so used to his constant Nazi metaphors, accusations and comparisons, that I immediately assumed that he was making a reference to how Jews, liberals and homosexuals were rounded up, put on trains and sent to death camps.
It sounds like his metaphor got hijacked by his fascination with trains going into tunnels.
Has there been a high profile homophobe rethug hatemonger who *hasn't* turned out to be a closet case? I'm gonna play the odds and bet the Weiner dog is another self-hater who protesteth too much.
Look up Michael Savage at wikkipedia, it's interesting how he spent his time during the 70's. He is most certainly a self-loather who followed whatever trend was popular, including but not limited to handing out a photo that showed him swimming naked with gay poet--Allen Ginsberg.
When Rush found an audience-Weiner jumped on the bandwagon. He'll do anything to make a buck, including selling his soul. He must have sold it--he obviousely is souless.
The sources for that information are David Gilson of salon.com, a gay website; and Ron Russell of the SF Weekly, who I'm sure has an unbiased viewpoint when reporting on Savage. Putting aside the fact that any left-wing hack can post "facts" on wikipedia, I fail to see anyone ever obtain this fabled photo. I mean, if it was handed out as a "calling card" I'm sure at least one of Savage's many enemies would have it online to humiliate him. However, if it did exist, people on here should celebrate that kind of activity as one's personal choice that should be tolerated and celebrated as true freedom. Do you hate people who swim naked?
No! But I'm not big on hypocrites.
Following your logic, a former drug user who goes to schools and speaks out against drug use is a hypocrite because they used to use drugs themselves? People can and do legitimately change they way they live their lives.
The difference is that a former drug addict who counsels students at a school would start his sessions with the words: "I am a drug addict".
His ability to inform comes from his admission to the transgression he is warning against.
Has Dr. Weiner acknowledged his "youthful indiscretions"?
Yes, he has acknowledged his "youthful indiscretions" on the air a number of times. Matter of fact, within the first week I started listening to him, he went into a discussion about how his critics try to smear him for having liberal views in his youth. His basic answer was: "I grew up, unlike them," and that he realized his liberalism was not going to make America a better place for his kids.
". . . People can and do legitimately change they way they live their lives."--John[something-or-other]
Ah, but where Savage's probem lies, is that he's said there's actually something wrong with gays and Liberals. Truth is, he's an intollerant creighton who thinks his is the only opinion that matters. The fact is, he is patently stupid, which makes his message more than stupid, which leaves his followers undefinably stupid.
Excuse the intrusion, but Savage calls Gay people mentally ill people with a death fetish, he obviously has great contempt for them. So it's just strange to me that he felt close enough to a person he would charcterize like this to swim naked with him. Isn't that a little odd?
1. People who have the innate inability to pair with another person with whom they can reproduce with and carry on a family are suffering from a mental illness.
2. Being gay is a death fetish. Again, these people cannot reproduce with their significant other, therefore when they die, no children are around to carry on the life of that family, hence death.
3. So, if that event actually happened (it only has reportedly happened...from 2 biased sourced), who is to say that 2 or more girls weren't skinny dipping with them? There is no conclusive evidence in this fabled smear attack.
So..
The gay people Savage hates should NOT be tolerated, but Savage's own gay behavior SHOULD be tolerated?
More GOP Vitter logic.
I'd like to talk more about this liberal utopia, where:
--Government money is not spent giving Halliburton no-bid contracts and Blackwater the means to torture and murder outside the law
--We actually still have a living Constitution and respected Geneva conventions
--There are limits on just how much of the PUBLIC airwaves one corporate interest can buy up and dominate
--the money spent on oil wars, oil occupations, and subsidizing arms companies, mercenaries and transnational oil companies is spent paying AMERICANS to cultivate and foster alternative energy resources like ethanol, wind, solar and biofuel
--the money spent trying to occupy Iraq is spent on police, firemen, teachers and (yes) doctors serving the health and well-being of AMERICANS
--tax breaks no longer pay companies to outsource labor and import foreign (and illegal) serf labor
--tax breaks for organic growers, rather than mass corporate growers who are flooding the product market and poisoning the air, water and soil
--stable families are celebrated regardless of their gender makeup
--government gets the HELL out of the marriage business altogether
--the joke of a "War on Drugs" is eliminated. Drugs are treated as a social disease and not a crime, thus eliminating drug lords, the drug trade, and freeing up our prisons for violent criminals
--we stop treating the air, water, soil and atmosphere like a free garbage disposal
--we actually let the government negotiate drug prices
--we stop actively pissing off (and on) every Muslim in the Middle East and instead tend to our own ailing neck of the woods
--we get our ports back from freaking Dubai, which helped finance 9/11
--we actually have checks and balances and an executive that puts country ahead of party
--we actually re-instate things like exit polls, that let us know when an election has been stolen
--we have publicly funded elections, so our lawmakers are no longer bought and paid-for
--we make war profiteering ILLEGAL
I like this utopia!
I will apply for citizenship there!
You have a few good points that most conservatives would agree with. You also have a few that we would obviously disagree with. The 2 best points you make are:
"--tax breaks no longer pay companies to outsource labor and import foreign (and illegal) serf labor" -I am right with you on this. Although just over 8 million jobs have been created since 2003, we could still use more, and definately an end to outsourcing and importing of foreign labor.
"--we make war profiteering ILLEGAL" -YES, YES, YES! As President Eisenhower warned us, "Beware, the military-industrial complex." I just wish California voters would throw Feinstein out of office, and then out of the country with her husband, just to make the example that these activities will no longer be tolerated.
Seriously, I think that if I were to make a list of conservative utopia, a fair amount would be similar to your list. We could come to a 50/50 compromise, and have a better nation because of it. However, all of our politicians are out of touch with reality...leaving us to argue and pay taxes.
THis jackass asks, has anybody ever starved to death in a hunger strike........... remember: BOBBY SANDS?!?!?!?!?
The Savage train may go Choo choo.
but, we know his words are all koo koo,
His mouth will get him in deep doo doo.
and when he cries, we'll all say "Booo Whoooo".
Nice poem, what liberal pot-smoking college professor taught you to write like that? Maybe you should try a hunger strike until Savage's mouth gets him in deep "doo-doo," I guarantee you wont be around anymore. Matter of fact, on the air yesterday, he continued to bash those starving illegal fools for trying to mess with him. I was cheering out loud while he was doing it. He isn't getting in any trouble.
Yeah, like Savage did anything other than bltch obout thm. What a big little man.
This man is so hateful. Why do stations across America carry this hatrer?
Here Doris, I'll give you a conservative type answer to why Weiner is allowed on the air.
Because of the Affirmative Action, our poor radio stations are forced to follow quotas! Each station is now forced to give air time to at least one crazy person! What's next? Giving air time to homosexuals?
Mikey S,
Until you refer to those on this website as verminazi's, I will not acknowledge the self-proclaimed stupidy of your listeners. You are all over the board. Nazis, gay mafia, radical homosexuals....sounds like your listeners in a sense.. I may be alone on this but vermin is the word. ( and those gay mafia-types thought that Grease is the word).
Here is a quote of context for Savage and his fans "let them fast until they starve to death, then that solves the problem" Solving problems by "others" dying. That is an American principle or the principle of an evil regime we had to stamp out 65 years ago.
Like we always do here in the "Gay Mafia Metropolis" with the Weiner Dog, hit ctrl-alt-delete or IGNORE IGNORE INGORE
Somehow, he is Hitler reincarnated as an East Coast Jew. Go figure, yet what else could surprise us.
Um...... Savage,
Your own words used to prove your racist ignorant ways is NOT hateful attacks against you!
I would call you scum but I wouldn't want to insult all the scum found on the planet!
See, now that might be construde as hate speech..... from me to you!
He isn't getting in any trouble. The powers that be like MIKE. But does that make his scapegoating right?
Note to Savage: when you are expressing your hate for the "hate group", you might as well join it....
