Gibson responds to Media Matters "attack" on his "black devil"/"white devil" comment
During the September 25 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show, Fox News host John Gibson responded to a recent Media Matters for America item documenting his September 21 statement that while there are "black devils stalking their streets," those protesting in support of the so-called Jena 6 only "wanna fight the white devil." Gibson said that he is being "targeted, now, by the left." He continued: "Media Matters for America, the George Soros-funded operation that feels it can criticize everybody in the media ... attacked me over this."
Earlier in the broadcast, Gibson aired an audio clip of a recent appearance by Bill Cosby, in which Cosby told African-American parents: "You have every right to go in and search [your child's bedroom]. You have every right to read on the child's wall what he or she is reading." Introducing the clip, Gibson said that Cosby addressed the "issue of kids locking their bedroom door, so their parents can't see what they're doing in there. You know, loading the clips for their nine; you know, breaking down a pound." After airing the clip, Gibson added, "The kids that Bill Cosby are talking about are in that room, behind closed doors, not privately texting their best friend, but loading the clip in their gun."
Furthermore, contrary to Gibson's assertion that Media Matters is "Soros-funded," philanthropist George Soros has never given money to Media Matters, either directly or through another organization, as has been repeatedly and exhaustively demonstrated.
From the September 25 broadcast of Fox News Radio's The John Gibson Show:
GIBSON: It seems like I'm in trouble.
ANGRY RICH: You're in the doghouse, John.
GIBSON: Yeah, I'm in the doghouse again. What did I do that was so wrong? We were talking about the Jena, Louisiana, situation, and the Reverend Al [Sharpton] heading down to Jena, when he should be doing what Bill Cosby did. Did you hear what Bill Cosby said today, Angry Rich?
ANGRY RICH: No, I didn't.
GIBSON: You didn't?
ANGRY RICH: I was too busy reading the Media Matters website about you, John.
GIBSON: Ah, well, we're going to get to that. Bill Cosby is holding one of those town hall meetings. Our friend Juan Williams was hosting it. And Cosby talking to African-American parents about how to deal with their kids and the issue of kids locking their bedroom door, so their parents can't see what they're doing in there. You know, loading the clips for their nine; you know, breaking down a pound --
ANGRY RICH: Smokin' that badass weed.
GIBSON: You can always smell that through the door, but if you're busting it up into bags, you probably can't see that.
COSBY (audio clip): Where do your children get off? "Will you please knock on my bedroom door before" -- I locked my door once. I swear to God, my father was the town drunk, but he knew that there was going to be no locked door. And he knocked -- with his foot -- and the door came apart. You have every right to go in and search. You have every right to read on the child's wall what he or she is reading.
GIBSON: Please. Hillary Clinton should be making ads like that. There's a crisis in this community. The kids that Bill Cosby are talking about are in that room, behind closed doors, not privately texting their best friend, but loading the clip in their gun.

When Janet and Jermaine was hmm hmm kissing
I was baggin' one thousand grams in my kitchen
Puffy just tellin' Kim, I love you boo
I was shining my nine, you know how I doGIBSON: You know how I do. You know how I do.
COSBY (audio clip): We need -- need, not want -- sure enough, real, black, teaching males.
GIBSON: Black men.
COSBY (audio clip): And the reason is, the black male student sees the mother in the home, sees the female in front of the classroom. He doesn't get a chance to see Mr. McFarland doin' the math. And so he is able to say, "That's a woman thing."
GIBSON: Math is a woman thing. Christine?
CHRISTINE: I'm not so good at math.
GIBSON: Two and two?
CHRISTINE: Four.
GIBSON: Four times nine?
CHRISTINE: Told you, I'm not so good at math. He's wrong.
GIBSON: That was a trick question. So anyway, this is all leading up to the fact that I have been targeted, now, by the left. Media Matters for America, the George Soros-funded operation that feels it can criticize everybody in the media -- is that who attacked me?
ANGRY RICH: Yes.
GIBSON: They attacked me over this. Now, it was -- we were talking about Jena, Louisiana, and the fact that so many black leaders were organizing people to go to Jena to protest the segregated school there and all the fallout that came from that. Nothing wrong with protesting a segregated school. What're they doing still segregating a school this late day in age? However, some of the cities where they were loading people up in buses have some of the worst murder rates in the country. And the people getting killed are black people. And I thought that there was a certain kind of piquant irony to the fact that we're leaving a town on buses to go protest in another town, and the town we're coming from is undergoing a wave of murder, and the victims are all black. And I said this:
[begin audio clip]
GIBSON: What's the murder number in Baltimore right now? Just up the road.
ANGRY RICH: It's hard to tell, because there are two or three more every night. I think it's hovering around a hundred and sixty.
GIBSON: And they're all young black men -- right?
ANGRY RICH: For the most part.
GIBSON: Who're being killed by young black men.
ANRGY RICH: That's right.
GIBSON: So, this is -- what they're worried about is a mirage of 1950s-style American segregation, racism from the South. They wanna fight the white devil. I -- you know, there's no -- you can't go fight the black devil. Black devils stalking their streets every night gunning down their own people -- can't go fight that. That would be snitchin'.
ANGRY RICH: New benchmark in Philly last night.
GIBSON: Philly hit three hundred.
[end audio clip]
GIBSON: Philly did hit three hundred. Baltimore at 225. New Orleans, a 149. Jacksonville, Florida, 110. D.C., 137. L.A. city, 287. L.A. county, 225. New York City, five times bigger than Philly, has only 40 more murders. Something is going wrong in the black community, and what is the reaction from the people who say they support the black community?
AUDIO CLIP: The War Against Gibson Continues!
GIBSON: They launch a war against me. Did I get called a racist again?
ANGRY RICH: Yes.
GIBSON: How many times in a given week am I called a racist these days?
ANGRY RICH: Often.
GIBSON: More days than -- more times than there are days in the week, right?
CHARLES BARRON (New York City councilman, audio clip): The murder rate in the cities are irrelevant to 21st century Jim Crowism, 21st century racism. Why can't you just deal straight up with racism without talking about the murder in some cities? Listen, you're not making sense. You're a protector of racism -- let the guest talk, John, be nice. You're a stone racist. You're worse -- the worst part about you -- not only are you a racist, you're a protector of racism. You are definitely a racist. You need therapy. You need racial therapy. You need racial therapy. You need racial therapy. You need --
GIBSON: Triple eight --
BARRON: -- racial therapy. Yeah, you need to have racial therapy --
GIBSON: Triple eight --
BARRON: --'cause you're not in touch with your racism. You're in denial of it --
GIBSON: Triple eight --
BARRON: --which is why it continues to come out on your program.
GIBSON: Triple-eight 788-9910. Is Gibson a racist for saying Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson and Charles Barron are more worried about a noose hanging from a tree in Louisiana than the fact that there's 300 dead black kids in Philadelphia?
BARRON: You're just a racist.
GIBSON: Am I the racist here? Am I -- am I the problem? The whitest man in America -- am I the racist? Triple eight --
AUDIO CLIP: The whitest man in America is the black man's best friend.
GIBSON: That's right. That's true. Triple eight, 788-9910. I say Cosby's on my side. Can we reach him? Triple eight, 788-9910. They say I'm the racist. OMG. How could that be? It's Gibson on Fox.

Now here is one Fox minion that absolutely pimps himself in any possible way for publicity, of any sort. It's so obvious, one almost feels sorry for his pathetic irrelvancy in many aspects.
MMFA should really ignore this one.
I very much agree with Tommy. This guy is desperate for attention.
I've called in to the show before (very easy to get on) and asked him how it felt "to be just taking up space" and it was obvious from his reaction that I struck a nerve. I kind of felt bad afterwards.
Fox just gave him a female co-host on his TV hour to help with ratings. Everyone should get together and pick a day to call his radio show to repeatedly ask him about her.
So let it be written.
The Tommy has spoken.
Notice how he NEVER comments on where MMFA went wrong. He never shows where they took him out of context. All he does is bitch about MMFA, while throwing in a few more racial bigoted statements.
Great defense Gibson.
Did you notice the stereotypes? They are breaking down the pounds, loading the clips?
Yeah, and did you see who said it? Duh.
Jimminy, how many of these old white guys at FOX also have radio shows? All of them? Does Geraldo not have one? Who listens to hours on end of this? Is the mobility scooter market that huge????
Once again Gibby shows no proof that these people who got on the buses aren't doing something about the murder rates in their community. Besides, they went in support of these 6 young black men who were being treated unfairly simply because they're black. Gibson is missing the whole point as to way these people who got on the buses went in the first place!
They have to cover the Jena 6 story this way because it's the only thing that sounds like legitimate journalism (if you don't listen too closely) that doesn't force them to address the fact that racism is alive and well in 21st century America.
The right really needs to educate themselves about what is happening in Jena. They can tell you that one of the offending youths had prior convictions, but ignore the fact that those prior convictions came from a confrontation between him and 5 friends who ran into a single white dude who was part of the group who refused entry to them at a party the previous night. There was a shotgun involved (owned by the white youth). Two stories - the black youths said they wrestled the gun from the guy because they threatened them. The White youth said he had to run and get the gun because the black youths threatened him. The cops had 5 people saying one thing, and 1 person saying something else, so they went with the white kid's version.
Justice?
Snoopy you said it's right..it's like the right wing is actually offended that people are actually going to Jena to help support these young men who were basically railroaded by the Jena justice system.
Did Gibby feel left out when O'Reilly got attacked by MMFA? You can almost hear him crying, "Me too! me too!"
Gibson! It's o.k. to be second or third or tenth fiddle to an ignorant, racist, condescending person like O'Lielly- please do not try to emulate him as you come off as an oaf... again.
This guy is more racist than Imus, and even more of a sleaze than O'Reilly (if such a thing is possible).
The 9mm comment is like the 3rd or 4th documented comment on this site that (to me) is far worse than calling anyone "Nappy-headed ho's".
GIBSON: Am I the racist here? Am I -- am I the problem? The whitest man in America -- am I the racist? Triple eight --
And the answer is ................
The You-Tube video "John Gibson, Racist" pretty much sums up Gibson's feelings about minorities.
From MMFA May 12, 2006:
Summary: On The Big Story, John Gibson urged viewers to "[d]o your duty. Make more babies," because he had found out, from a recently released report, that nearly half of all children under the age of five in the United States are minorities. Gibson added: "You know what that means? Twenty-five years and the majority of the population is Hispanic." Gibson later repeated: "To put it bluntly, we need more babies."
Good one. How much more obvious could someone be about their racism than to say we need more white babies to keep ahead of hispanics? If he doesn't hate them, and thinks they're equal to white people, then obviously there's no pressing concern there.
I wonder how these people live with themselves.
GIBSON: I have been targeted, now, by the left. Media Matters for America, the George Soros-funded operation that feels it can criticize everybody in the media
How dare they!! This seems to be really stunning to these knobs, that the internet has made it possible for groups that aren't Rupert Murdoch to actually expose the GOP media's stoopidity.
That was my reaction too. Does Gibson think that MMFA shouldn't be allowed to comment on the media?
First Billo, now Gibson, and many others mentioning MMFA by name. This is great. If only one in twenty TV viewers actually come to this site we are making progress. Too many of our citizens do not realize how extensively they are being propogandized by Fox.
Yeah, Middle, as usual when MMFA is mentioned in the MSM, a small group of faithful zombies has shown up here to demonstrate that there's an audience for BilldO and his BS.
But hopefully, there are others who come here because of the publicity who can still think for themselves.
First, "Media Matters for America ... feels it can criticize everybody in the media." Duh, HEELLOOOOOO?
Second, Cosby tells parents that they have a right to search their children's rooms and know what they're reading. Somehow this turns into black kids who are "loading the clips for their nine; you know, breaking down a pound." I'm glad I've been informed that it's all of the black kids, and only the black kids, who are handling guns and dealing drugs in their rooms while their parents have abandoned all responsibility. It's nice to know that this is just a "black thing."
And the psychopath lives for the negative attention his actions create. Just look up "sociopathy" in the DSM IV and you got the ENTIRE right-wing media.
