WorldNetDaily's Farah: "Many of us who crossed the Clintons ... feared for our lives as a result"

November 15, 2007 4:49 pm ET

SUMMARY: In a column discussing Kathleen Willey's new book, Joseph Farah -- founder and editor of the right-wing news website WorldNetDaily -- asserted: "Many of us who crossed the Clintons -- whether it was because of what we wrote or whether it was because we didn't yield to unwanted sexual attacks -- feared for our lives as a result of winding up on their 'enemies list.' " He also claimed that "there were real-world consequences to being on the Clintons' enemies list," such as "losing jobs," "threats and harassment," "invasion of privacy," "break-ins and dead pets and flat tires," and "audits from the Internal Revenue Service."

In a November 14 column discussing Kathleen Willey's new book Target: Caught in the Crosshairs of Bill and Hillary Clinton, Joseph Farah -- founder and editor of the right-wing news website WorldNetDaily -- asserted: "Many of us who crossed the Clintons -- whether it was because of what we wrote or whether it was because we didn't yield to unwanted sexual attacks -- feared for our lives as a result of winding up on their 'enemies list.' " He also claimed that "there were real-world consequences to being on the Clintons' enemies list," such as "losing jobs," "threats and harassment," "invasion of privacy," "break-ins and dead pets and flat tires," and "audits from the Internal Revenue Service." Farah added, "I am convinced, as is Willey, it could mean untimely death." Media Matters for America has documented numerous examples of media figures portraying the Clintons and their staff as ruthless and even violent.

In the book, Willey rehashes disproven conspiracy theories regarding former deputy White House counsel Vince Foster's 1993 suicide and suggests possible parallels between Foster's death and the suicide of her husband, Clinton fundraiser Ed Willey Jr., as well as the reported suicide attempt of Norman Hsu, a fundraiser for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) who was charged with fraud and violating campaign finance laws in California. World Ahead Publishing, which published Target, and WND Books, WorldNetDaily's publishing imprint, became partners in October 2006. Also, in an interview with WorldNetDaily discussed in a November 5 article, Willey asserted that she "[m]ost definitely" suspects that her husband was murdered and that she "ha[s] suspicions" the Clintons were involved.

Farah also asserted that Willey's book "is perhaps the best expose of the personal, moral bankruptcy of both Clintons" and claimed that the book showed that President Clinton is "capable of just about anything -- including rape." As Media Matters has noted, on the March 15, 1998, edition of CBS' 60 Minutes, Willey alleged that Bill Clinton fondled her against her will in 1993 during a private White House meeting in which she asked for a paid position in the administration. Clinton denied making any sexual advance toward Willey. As the report by independent counsel Robert Ray noted, "Because the alleged incident arose in an employment context, Judge Susan Webber Wright ruled the allegations could be explored during discovery in Jones [v. Clinton]," the lawsuit in which former Arkansas state employee Paula Jones claimed that Clinton sexually harassed her.

Ray's report, however, concluded that "Willey's Testimony to the Grand Jury About the Alleged Incident Differed Materially from Her Deposition Testimony Given in Jones v. Clinton," noting that Willey "said at her deposition ... that [Clinton] did not fondle her." Ray also found that Willey contradicted herself on whether she had told others about the alleged incident and asserted that Willey gave false information to the FBI.

From Farah's November 14 WorldNetDaily column:

What I expected from "Target" was an expanded articulation of the sexual assault the former White House staffer suffered at the hands of the philanderer-in-chief. I certainly got that. But I got much more than I expected.

Willey's book is perhaps the best expose of the personal, moral bankruptcy of both Clintons -- one of whom, you may have noticed, is a leading candidate for the presidency in 2008.

What Clinton did to Willey in the Oval Office is shocking. It showed he is a serial sexual predator. It showed he sees women as mere sexual objects. It showed he is some kind of psychotic narcissist. It showed he is immoral. It showed he has no self-control. It showed he has no respect for other human beings nor the office of the presidency. And it showed he is, as Willey put it, capable of just about anything -- including rape.

But that is only a tiny part of the story, told in graphic detail though it is.

The bigger part of the expose is what both Bill and Hillary Clinton did to cover his tracks.

It is a story of absolute abuse of power, thuggery unimaginable to most Americans, terror no citizen should ever have to endure from "public servants."

Kathleen Willey makes a point most media people have never understood and most Americans could never understand. Many of us who crossed the Clintons -- whether it was because of what we wrote or whether it was because we didn't yield to unwanted sexual attacks -- feared for our lives as a result of winding up on their "enemies list."

And there were real-world consequences to being on the Clintons' enemies list. It could mean losing jobs. It could mean threats and harassment. It could mean invasion of privacy. It could mean break-ins and dead pets and flat tires. It could mean audits from the Internal Revenue Service. And I am convinced, as is Willey, it could mean untimely death.

So true.  I find it encouraging that the Republicans are so frightened silly about a Hillary nomination that they have to start the Swift-Boating before she is even the nominee.  But I look at is as sheer comedy.  Their Kabuki dance around the issue gets my blood pressure flowing and gives me plenty  of relaxing giggles.  They are so transparently funny.  Every time I hear one of their verbal antics, I am reassured about my choice to leave the Republican Party.  Even contemplating another Republican administration after this disaster leaves me horrified.

On the other hand, Bush 2 is such an anomaly as far as Republicans go.  So incompetent that even if he were a Democrat, we would see no difference in outcomes.  He just screws up everything he touches.

If I was Bill or Hillary... I'd sue the living s**t out of Farah and put WND out of business. I'd also go after Willey and force her to take the stand and substantiate all of her trash under the penalty of perjury.

Until Farah and his hate site have actual documents that PROVE any of those assertions - especially Bill Clinton's 'rape convictions' and 'murder convictions' - he can keep his GD mouth SHUT.

Further it is in his best interest for Clinton to NOT be elected thus we all know why this is going on.

      WOW!

      This is frightening.

I just put a call into John Walsh  to feature this dangerous duo on America's Most Wanted.

Geez, Hillary hasn't even been elected yet, & it's already exploding. I feel like I'm back in the 90's. The bad part.

4-8 years of this? It's giving me a headache.

I implore the reasonable Republican/Conservatives to get the Far Right to shut the f#ck up!

On a more personal note, this is very disturbing to me. I usually do most of my posting from work. If Hillary gets elected, & this is a mere preview of what we can expect...MMFA will be churning out 25-50 threads a day. It will be more than I can handle.

"The number of people who have known the Clintons that have committed suicide or died suddenly is simply too great to be a coincidence."

If that number is so great, then how come there has never been any credible evidence, EVER, that ties the Clintons to a single one of those deaths?  You think if there were so many of these suspicious cases at least ONE of them would lead somewhere.

Maybe the Clintons just know a lot of people.  They are politicians, you know.

I imagine they believe that a long enough list will actually cover the fact that there is nothing to the list, other than a sad litany of people now dead, whose names are being linked (through the power of the list) in bizarre and idiotic conspiracy fantasies.

The list you posted in nonsense. Lists such as these are not evidence. Someone, somewhere, did a poor job of educating you about the nature of evidence and logic.  If you actually believe that this list is anything more than a mere list, that it actually proves anything, then you really were poorly educated at some point. You have fallen for the power of the list. And that is merely because you believe that this list does something. What does your list do? It proves nothing. It is not evidence for anything. It is merely a list. As other have pointed out, one can compile any number of lists, but they do not prove anything. It is a stupid list, sad in its exploitation of those who have died (but the right wing nut jobs never care about who they smear).

Hey Copious:  This is fun.  Maybe I am a nefarious character, too.  Let's try:

Jack:  Mark's uncle.  Also found dead one morning even though no complaints of sickness. He was supposed to have dinner with Mark that evening.

Jake:  Client of Mark's. Mark was preparing for a deposition on a case for Jake when Jake suddenlt died.

Tom:  Mark's father-in-law.  Died a mere two days after Mark saw him on Easter Sunday.

Leo:  Mark's brother-in-law.  Died of mysterious causes at 36 on Easter Sunday. He had just been with Mark at a party the previous weekend.

Dan:  Childhood classmate of Mark's.  Purportedly died in a motorcycle accident.

Mike: Former high-school classmate of Mark's who had a fist fight with him in Junior year.  Supposedly hung himself in lock-up at the Village jail.

Nicely done, Mark.I was sort of compiling a similar list of my own, but yours is enough.

Taz and Compliantconsent are perfect examples of the bad math students who keep the lottery booming. Years ago, I had a co-worker, a gentle but dim carpenter who couldn't wait for the lid to be blown off the Lotto scam as he'd been spending a couple hundred a month and had never won more than 20 bucks. It was rigged!

I'm not a real social person, I have a job where I meet a small number of people,I have a small circle of friends. Even including my teenage years  and 20s, when I was much less a hermit, I figure there are a few hundred people who know me personally.Contrast that with a man who was the leader of the world's superpower for 8 years. as well as a governor for a time, and I'd assume there are hundreds of thousands of people who could be said to "know" Bill Clinton.

My own list would include 5 or 6 suicides, several single car crashes, and a few violent deaths with unexplained circumstances. The Clinton list is probably not even double mine.By my conservative estimate, the Clinton's list shoud be at about 25,000, mathematically, so I will admit that I'm getting suspicious-

How are the Clinton's friends cheating death?

Compliantconsent and Taz, please keep posting here, and keep playing the Lotto with gusto. We need the entertainment, and the schools need the money!

HBL: I came up with that list in about two minutes and after I was done I thought of several more nemes that could have been added.  It is so stupid.  Especially when everyone on the "list" may have been about to give info about the Clintons, while all the people that did give info about the Clintons, Ms. Lewinsky being number one,are still alive  and kicking. There is no doubt that if the Clintons were so awful, many names on "the list" would not be on it while several names not on "the list" would be on it.  It is pure garbage.  I do not even think the right wingers expect any rational person to believe this stuff anymore (sorry Copiousdissent) but they are just trying to get people to not vote for Hillary by reminding the voters that true or not, the right wingers are going to play the Clinton bashing game throughout a Hillary presidency.

Jeez Loueez, it's been 15 years since the Clintons became prominent in national politics. Many of the people that they knew, or had some six-degrees-of-separation connection to, must have been middle-aged or in late middle age. Some percentage of people of that age range will die within a 15-year period. That "death" thing kinda sukks, but it's why there aren't, like, 12 billion people in the world.

Hey maybe they were responsible for that car running that red light and having that truck drag the car 200 feet or maybe they gave that kid the booze who side swiped the police car. You appear just as crazy as Justice with this list.

Excellent point. Logic would tell us that, if the Clintons were so inclined to murder people, then Monica Lewinsky, Linda Tripp, Lucy Goldberg, Kathleen Willey etc. would have all had unfortunate "accidents" long before the scandals broke. I mean, we're to believe that they killed Ron Brown shooting him AND making his plane crash...yet they never touched Ann Coulter or Rush Limbaugh?

Your list puts forward the bizarre conspiracy that "Clinton Inc." has somehow been able to conduct a murderous terror campaign that has used staged suicides, plane crashes, car crashes, a drive by shooting, several homicides while in the commission of other criminal acts, convenient assignments to dangerous details and induced heart attacks in order to eliminate its political enemies.

And yet somehow the worst they could do to Willey is kill her cat and steal her manuscript?

With their amazing abilities to obstruct investigations and remove witnesses before they testify somehow they missed Paula Jones, Monica Lewinski and Juanita Broderick befoere it was too late?

George Stephanapolous, who was very much inside the Clinton machine until he left it, feels very free to criticize Bill and Hillary publicly even though if your conspiracy theory was true he would have to know about it and be afraid for his own life.  Does he have some special magic keeping him safe from the Clinton Black Bag team?

But it is merely a list and any number of other lists could be compiled. But the number of idiots who have posted this list on their various websites is truly astounding. It shows that our educational system has failed. That people cannot think critically and that they feel this list proves something. It does not. It is merely a list.

So by this assertion alone, this person is basically saying that everyone on staff at the wacky and wonderful World Net Daily, well, they should be dead, because this is what they make their bread and butter on. I dare someone to go on there, any day since they started their little production, and NOT find an article that attacks Clinton (Bill or Hillary) in some way or another. I'm almost certain that on a daily basis, this is what they day. This is who they write for. They write for the folks that already hate the Clintons (most people who hate them can't say why they hate, but they do nonetheless, it's just that they can't come up with a good answer. Normally it's something like "Hillary's a beaotch and Bill sleeps with other women").

And also by this assertion, Rush Limbaugh should be wearing a pair of concrete shoes somewhere in the bottom of the ocean, or in a lake somewhere, or maybe if the Clinton's were so "sneaky" and underhanded, they would send someone to follow Limbaugh around all the time to catch him in the act of doing something "bad" so they could crank it up, and make that headline news.

Oh wait, none of these things have happened, and or can be substantiated at all. The Clinton's are responsible for anyone being dead, contrary to the list Coppious dunderhead has posted time and again. Let's post a list of the names Bush is responsible for killing, outright. We can start with the 3000+ names of the soldiers who have been killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, and then we can add in the names of the 9/11 victimes, and then the innocent Iraqis and Afghanis who have been killed because of 2 different wars going on in their countries. And, that's just the tip of the iceberg. How about all of the people Bush put to death in Texas before he became President. I mean, if you want to have a body count contest, it's not even close really.

Aside from that, the Clinton's didn't kill anyone. There is no evidence, real factual evidence, to show that they did. They had an independent prosecutor on their butts for what? 2? 3 years? And all he found was a stained dress, and some dubious phone calls recorded illegally by someone else. No deaths. No murders. Nothing really.

You guys and your conspiracy theories about how many folks the Clinton's have killed off are as bad, or worse than, the nuts who claim that the World Trade Center was taken down by a controlled demolition, and not that 2 planes that crashed into them. You both live in kook world. Get over it already. Jeesh...

I'd be loathe to visit a website such as his I think. It might make my head rattle a little bit, as I've visited sites like that before, and they make me laugh a lot really. Because here we have folks talking so much about how independent their thinking is, and how they like to put things out there on their own, and how they're so intellectual, and critical in what they print, and or write, and yet, I can listen to Rush/Boortz/Savage/Hannity/O'Reilly, and the next day, said sites are filled with quotes from the above (and others) where there is no rational discourse, or critical thinking. They let the right wingers talk for and with them, and proudly call themselves dittoheads, which means, they just yell "ME TOO!!" as loudly as they can. It drives me nuts really.

The best part is when they cite these incredible sources, such as World Net Daily. I even heard on Neal Boortz one day last week he was talking about this big story, and I even forget what it was, and then he reveals the source behind it all. World Net Daily, instantly when I hear those 3 words, I shut off. Because I know what is likely to happen is that they are going to start talking about something crazy that allegedly happened with the Clintons, or essentially how "bad" liberals and democrats are in general. And then wash, rinse, and repeat on the rightie blogs all over the place.
