During the December 4 edition of MSNBC's Countdown, host Keith Olbermann named Fox News host E.D. Hill the "runner up" in his nightly "Worst Person in the World" segment for, as Media Matters for America documented, saying of Leeland Eisenberg -- the man accused of taking hostages at the Rochester, New Hampshire, presidential campaign office of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) -- that "something about what Sen. Clinton said just sort of drove him over the edge. That's kind of what it appears to sound like." Olbermann stated: "Our runner up, E.D. Hill of 'Fixed News,' rounding out a weekend of absolutely psychotic Fox coverage, politicizing the hostage situation at the Hillary Clinton local headquarters in New Hampshire last Friday. The hostage-taker, Leeland Eisenberg, an emotionally disturbed man who had concluded he needed hospitalization and was not getting it, apparently saw a Clinton campaign ad in which another New Hampshire [sic] resident [Joe Ward] said Senator Clinton had helped him to get health insurance. He reportedly told a relative that he was, quote, 'going to do something to get into the hospital.' " Olbermann concluded: "So, E.D. Hill says, quote, '[S]omething about what Senator Clinton said just sort of drove him over the edge. That's kind of what it appears to sound like.' Just sort of kind of what it appears to sound like? She didn't drive him over the edge, Miss Hill; she drove you over the edge."

As Media Matters noted, during the December 3 edition of Fox News Live, Hill asserted that, according to "the Sunday Citizen newspaper," Eisenberg's estranged wife, Lisa, "claim[ed] ... her husband had been binge drinking for three weeks and desperately wanted help with his problem." She added, "He claimed that he couldn't afford health care. And something about what Sen. Clinton said just sort of drove him over the edge. That's kind of what it appears to sound like." In fact, in a December 2 article, The Citizen of Laconia reported that Lisa Eisenberg "said her husband had been binge drinking for more than three weeks and 'ran out of options,' " and that Eisenberg "watched a televised campaign ad for ... Clinton," in which "a man identified as Joe Ward tells viewers Clinton helped him get health insurance so his son could have a life-saving bone marrow transplant, Lisa Eisenberg said." However, in the ad, Clinton only says: "I'm Hillary Clinton, and I approve this message."

From the December 4 edition of MSNBC's Countdown With Keith Olbermann:

OLBERMANN: Our runner up, E.D. Hill of "Fixed News," rounding out a weekend of absolutely psychotic Fox coverage, politicizing the hostage situation at the Hillary Clinton local headquarters in New Hampshire last Friday. The hostage-taker, Leeland Eisenberg, an emotionally disturbed man who had concluded he needed hospitalization and was not getting it, apparently saw a Clinton campaign ad in which another New Hampshire resident [sic] said Senator Clinton had helped him to get health insurance. He reportedly told a relative that he was, quote, "going to do something to get into the hospital."

So, E.D. Hill says, quote, "[S]omething about what Senator Clinton said just sort of drove him over the edge. That's kind of what it appears to sound like." Just sort of kind of what it appears to sound like? She didn't drive him over the edge, Miss Hill; she drove you over the edge.

Just what I want in a news program, someone to tell me who the competition is the worst person in the world. What a sad state of affairs Olbermann represents for Cable News in America today. Homerun, no. More like a big strikeout.

Sue I have to agree with you, I do not want to watch another program and be told every night how bad FOX is. Olbermann is boring and he is another example of a partisan hack.  ED Hill is a moron but she looks sympathetic when someone like Olbermann starts with his bs.

Wrong again.  Olbermann and MMFA are brothers in arms who expose right-wing lies.

He has more news in his first segment than O'Reilly and Hannity combined.  Maybe that's why you think he's boring - because he actually reports the news of the day and is often times humorous

Remember, KO is the guy who flunked basic geography and is too much of a coward to actually have non-lefties on his program.

Also, remember that KO's "Meltdown" program always tries that kindergarten trick of finding a bad photo of the conservative to use as a screen graphic - however, there is NO bad picture of E.D. Hill.  WHAT A BAB-0-LICIOUS WOMAN!

In terms of this new topic, let's face it - I think that if I had to listen to that horrible Kansas city hog-calling contest of a voice from Hillary, I'd want to put a bullet through my brain.  (I really to sympathise with Bill C.!)

Come on!  If you can't enjoy "Worst Paerson in the World" then you:

          1) Have no sense of humor

          2) Have no sense of irony

          3) Are inappropriately tolerant of hypocrasy

          4) (And I'm guessing...) Usually vote Repubican.

You've said before that you're not a conservative, but I just don't see it.  Mister Olbermann is the Cable TV version of MMFA.  Granted, he's probably making a living off them (or the other way around, I don't really know, honestly) But it's good stuff.  What's more - when HE makes a mistake, he admits it and usually gives himself the "Worst Person" Bornze for it.  That shows humility and some self-deprication.  Something none of the Right-Wing hacks (Rush, Bill-O, Beck, Savagae, Coulter) have even a gram of.  I don't agree with him 100% (I've actually taken Bill-O's side once or twice if you can believe it) but most of the time he's dead-on.

I have not heard much about "the surge" in Iraq from Keith lately? Is it working? Is it over? Has it failed? What is happening? It is my hope that Keith will travel to Baghdad and cover the story in person and maybe visit the troops there and give them gifts for Christmas or help them out in some way.

And you will continue to seek negative stories about Hillary until election day.
