A February 22 Bloomberg News article about the indictment of Rep. Rick Renzi (R-AZ) reported Sen. John McCain's reaction to the indictment, but did not report that McCain named Renzi a co-chairman of his presidential campaign in Arizona on March 21, 2007, months after it was reported in October 2006 that Renzi was under federal investigation. McCain's campaign website currently lists Renzi as a campaign co-chairman. According to the Bloomberg report, Renzi was indicted on February 22 "in an alleged scheme to profit from a land deal."

McCain supported Renzi in his 2006 election, donating $5,000 to Renzi's campaign from his leadership political action committee, Straight Talk America, in April 2006 and sending a fundraising email on Renzi's behalf in June 2006. In April 2007, the FBI raided Renzi's family business in connection with the federal investigation, and in August 2007, Renzi announced he would not seek re-election.

From the February 22 Bloomberg article:

Senator John McCain, an Arizona Republican and the party's presumed presidential nominee, told reporters today when asked about the indictment that "you always feel for the family.'' McCain, speaking after a rally in Indianapolis, said he didn't know enough details to make a judgment on the case.

It was just Bloomberg that omitted this key FACT, it was also CNN, NBC, CBS, FOX, MSNBC, AND ABC .. ALL OF THEM. And of course all the other lies and misinformation this corporate/ repiglican media is creating on behalf of their CORPORATE MASTERS WHO HAVE HIRED THEM to do just that. Just look at all the stories on Media Matters today that detail these lies, deceptions, and manipulation of public perception concerning THE CORPORATE STANDARD BEARER: McCAIN. Read that incredible and all too true article about the CLINTON RULES and how they apply to Dems but not the REPIGLICANS. THE CORPORATE MEDIA SHOULD BE CHARGED, TRIED AND CONVICTED FOR PURPOSEFUL, CRIMINAL, FRAUD COMMITTED AGAINST THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. THEY ARE , INDEED, THE NEX AXIS OF EVIL.
