Savage on Obama: "He's an Afro-Leninist, and I know he's dangerous"
SUMMARY: Michael Savage asserted that Sen. Barack Obama is "a Marxist in his heart," adding, "He's an Afro-Leninist, and I know he's dangerous." Savage also claimed that if Sen. Hillary Clinton wins the election, "you're gonna get more of the lesbian-feminist propaganda thrown in your face than with [Sen. John] McCain, but other than that, it's gonna be almost the same exact -- the same exact administration."
On the April 14 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show, Michael Savage asserted that Sen. Barack Obama is "a Marxist in his heart," adding, "He's an Afro-Leninist, and I know he's dangerous." Savage went on to compare Sen. Hillary Clinton with Sen. John McCain, claiming that "[t]he only thing you're gonna get different between Hillary and McCain, as I can tell it: Hillary, you're gonna get more of the lesbian-feminist propaganda thrown in your face than with McCain, but other than that, it's gonna be almost the same exact -- the same exact administration."
In the past, Savage has asserted that Obama was "an unknown stealth candidate who went to a madrassas in Indonesia"; has said of Obama, "I think he was hand-picked by some very powerful forces both within and outside the United States of America to drag this country into a hell that it has not seen since the Civil War of the middle of the 19th century"; and has stated: "[W]e, the American people, being at war with radical Islam have a -- have a need to know just exactly what kind of Muslim he was exposed to, what kind of Muslim he is, what kind of Muslim teachings he's -- he's friendly to. We have a right to know if he's a so-called friendly Muslim or one who aspires to more radical teachings."
Talk Radio Network, which syndicates Savage's show, claims that Savage is heard on more than 350 radio stations. The Savage Nation reaches more than 8 million listeners each week, according to Talkers Magazine, making it one of the most listened-to talk radio shows in the nation, behind only The Rush Limbaugh Show and The Sean Hannity Show.

SAVAGE: That's the problem. That's why I'm not too excited about the election. I'm really not excited. The only one I don't want to win is Obama because I know he's a Marxist in his heart. He's an Afro-Leninist, and I know he's dangerous.
Hillary, I know what to expect from her, which is eight horrible years, but I'm not so sure she's still a Leninist. Her husband has made so much money in so many different capitalist ways that I actually think they've matured and become good Americans.

No, there's a paradoxical statement I've just made. In other words, I think the Clintons probably started out as far-leftist characters in their early years, but they've been around so long in the power structure and now, finally, they've been allowed to make so much money and they've circulated with the rich for so long that I think she's a safe bet. In fact, there's an argument to be made that she might be a safer bet than McCain in that regard.
The only thing you're gonna get different between Hillary and McCain, as I can tell it: Hillary, you're gonna get more of the lesbian-feminist propaganda thrown in your face than with McCain, but other than that, it's gonna be almost the same exact -- the same exact administration. There really is no difference. Except -- now, here's an important difference: in the presentation. You know how I've said for years, you know, the queen of England is sort of a figurehead? McCain would make for a better figurehead than Hillary Clinton. And frankly, Cindy McCain would be a better first lady than would be Bill Clinton.

Michael Weiner - like so many other talking heads with their own radio pukefests - tries to scare his listeners by combining terms that they fear. Since so many of them on the right are racists and white supremicists, the "Afro-" part triggers their fear of blacks. And the "-Leninist" part triggers the old Cold War fears that children of the '50s and '60s (like me) lived with every day back then.
Like so many other things Michael Weiner says, this term is not rooted in reality - and neither is Michael Weiner. (BTW, I'm still not sure if his real last name is pronounced "whiner" or "weener" - either one fits.)

Historygeek, such words do have meaning, albeit an unofficial one. these neologisms are created because there is lack of a better/shorter term.
As in the case of "afro-leninist" they are self explanatory. THis is just how languages expand as new terms are synthesized and added.
It is also how meaningles smears are created. Since Obama is NOT a Lenninist it isnt just ignorant its a LIE.

Such words are fearmongering. "Islamofascist" is a null term, it is self-contradictory. Look up Fascism and Islam -- they are not compatible. "Afro-Leninist" is another term designed to instill hatred and fear. Obama is NOT a Leninist; it is a smear, which is self-evident. This is how racism, hatred, and fear are spread. Once again, you are trying to defend the indefensible.

Someone please tell this buffoon the US President has very real power, and is no figurehead. Some people thought Bush would be a harmless figurehead, until they found out what kind of damage a fool in the President's seat can cause.

Savage speaks the truth, and truth hurts. The liberals voting for Obama will get nothing more than a Muslim running the country. Is that what we really want? A Muslim whos spiritual leader is a racist and a communist, a wife who hates the country and is ashamed of it, a personal friend of William Ayers, and a father that has ties to Hamas. Yes, this is really who we need to entrust all our secrets to. Just remeber, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Obama flat out scares the hell out of these guys. For so long they have captivated their audience on the premise that conservative principles are the glue of America. Obama is able to transcend that malarkey and communicate to people that they cling to conservative principles because that is all they have left since the GOP rapes them yearly through bad economics. The truth has a way of scaring those who tell lies. Savage is worried that people will wake up and start voting their pocketbooks instead of worrying about gays, guns, and god. If that happens there is no longer a need to listen to his crap. His ego could not take tht type of rejection therefore he has to attack and spread lies. There is a place in hell for folks like him and it ain't air conditioned.
