SUMMARY: On his Fox News television program, Bill O'Reilly said, "[Sen. Barack] Obama must condemn organizations like MoveOn and the Daily Kos if he truly wants to run without a race component. These are the people that are dividing Americans along racial lines. It is not a stretch to say MoveOn is the new Klan."

While discussing MoveOn.org's "Petition Against Fox's Racist & Hate-Filled Smears" on the July 23 edition of Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor, host Bill O'Reilly said, "[Sen. Barack] Obama must condemn organizations like MoveOn and the Daily Kos if he truly wants to run without a race component. These are the people that are dividing Americans along racial lines. It is not a stretch to say MoveOn is the new Klan."

As Media Matters for America has documented, O'Reilly has previously called MoveOn.org and Media Matters for America "the most vicious element in our society today" and referred to the staff of both organizations as "assassins." On July 30, 2007, O'Reilly claimed that the Democratic presidential candidates were "afraid of the Daily Kos and MoveOn." O'Reilly has also repeatedly compared the Daily Kos website and its founder, Markos Moulitsas, to the Klan or white supremacist David Duke.

From the July 23 edition of Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor:

O'REILLY: Now, in the beginning of this campaign, I told you that any media using the race card would be scrutinized by us, and that includes folks who may attack Senator Obama on that basis. But we have seen little of that.

Instead, the vile, far-left smear machines are trafficking in racial hate, and the MoveOn campaign is a vivid example of that.

To his credit, Barack Obama has not made race an issue and was embarrassed when Jesse Jackson did that a few days ago. But Obama must condemn organizations like MoveOn and the Daily Kos if he truly wants to run without a race component.

These are the people that are dividing Americans along racial lines. It is not a stretch to say MoveOn is the new Klan.

He says that he wants to lynch Michelle Obama if she doesn't love America - just like the Klan. He sends his people out to the homes of people he don't like to harass them - just like the Klan.

And yet, it's the liberal blogosphere that are the Klan.

      Bill'O - you're a sub-human hypocrite scum. And a Klansman yourself.

I thought y'all would appreciate this little tidbit...

Rush Limbaugh may be the most popular radio talk show host, but our latest Washington Whispers poll finds that Americans want him shouting from their radio, not next door to their summer vacation home. In the poll by our associates at Synovate eNation, we asked which of four of the media elite—Limbaugh, Fox's Bill O ' Reilly, MSNBC's Keith Olbermann , and Hardball's Chris Matthews—you wouldn't want renting the Martha's Vineyard home next to you. By more than a 2-to-1 margin, it was Limbaugh people wanted to avoid. Some 53 percent shot Limbaugh down, which is too bad, since he reportedly is something of a recluse once he leaves his EIB studio and would probably be a good neighbor. O'Reilly was next at 20 percent, with the others splitting the remainder. What was interesting, says Synovate eNation, is that the results were echoed across all demographics. Normally rich and poor, urban and rural, and young and old poll participants split their response. But in this case, over half in every category expressed their wish to keep Limbaugh in the studio.

If O'reilly were smart, he would be focusing on Moveon's inexplicable decision to call General Petraeus--who led the very successfull surge-- "Betray-us" instead of claiming without evidence that the group is somehow racist.

I hate to have to burst your bubble here, but the General Petraeus or General Betray Us? from MoveOn.org was a question to whether the general was going to be a proper actice military servant or a political tool!

MoveOn.org used a '?' <---- that's a question mark!  That means it was a question not an accusation!

Did you actually read all the words in that ad?  I dont recall seeing anywhere that claimed that the general was a bad person or that it in any way insulted his career...... that is a rightwing distortion!

The good general decided to lower himself to the level of political tool instead of doing the right thing and telling Bush and his political hacks that he nor the army will be used in such a way!

We all know his decision...... don't we!

I also give MoveOn.org money..... when I can!

Thats a heady challenge for Move On. All those Klansters who did or are doing time for child molestation. A record they'll probably keep. There seems to be similarities between having to treat someone with a different melenine count in their skins, as if they mattered, worthy of respect. And trouble having sex with a adult.

Refusing to allow someone humanity, and sex with those who have no control or allowed input seem to go together historically.

O'Reilly just screams, "Lies!" without ever once mentioning a single one of the many examples of Fox racism that Robert Greenwald and Moveon have cataloged. And he won't have an unsympathetic guest on to talk about this topic because he knows that he would be confronted with specific examples. This "I'm rubber and you're glue" defense is always so transparent whenever anyone is called out for racist statements.

(ahem) It is NOT a stretch to call MoveOn the new Klan. A "stretch" is an excessive exaggeration, an attempt to equate two things that could be very loosely compared. Calling MoveOn the New Klan, especially for somebody who shares so many ideological similarities with the Klan as Bill O'Reilly, is not a "stretch" at all. It's a completely ass-backwards , fantasy-based idea that is as plausible as comparing up and down. It's not a stretch, it's insanity.

It seems that conservative right wing nuts like Bill, Hannity, Savage and Limbo love to compare ANY difference of opinion with horrific events of the past like Nazis and the Klan. Having grow up during the heyday of the Klan, lived in fear of the Klan and knew families effected by actions of the Klan, NOTHING MoveOn, CODEPINK or ANY other organization with a different opinion has done is in ANY way LIKE the Klan.

THIS is the problem with right wing nuts, they can't debate a difference of opinion without going to the extreme. Obama does NOT have to condemn a damn thing MoveOn or Daily Kos does, Bill just needs to get a dictionary.

Anybody who watches O'loofah, or Fox news has already made up their collective 'mind' if you can call this process 'thinking.'    Bill O is pathetic, and a bigoted hatemonger who thinks "no spin" means "no thinking."  His no spin zone is exactly that.  He does NOT spin his blatant hatred, it is out there for any thinking person to see, hear, and dismiss.  Why we even waste time taling about this moron is the question, but he sure does generate a lot of talk.  The simple fact is that Fox is in the Republican pocket, and SPINS anything to do with Democrats.  Example:  Commentator on Fox used the word "Fallout" to describe what they were looking for in OBama's Europe tour.  Fallout is a negative word, and hardly "FAIR and BALANCED" now is it?  Bombs and bad things 'fallout' of the sky.  Not goodness and light like we would have with McCain.

I was wondering why Bill did a segment on some random Congressman from Florida, exposing his mailing address scheme, now I understand. I knew there had to be a catch. It's amazing how every time he attacks somebody you can literally trace it back to something that person said about him, his girlfriend G.W.Bush, or FoxNews.

And how does high ratings "Prove" that they're fair? High ratings proves nothing except that people tune it to watch shouting matches and be shocked by anchors who spout from the hip. I'm so sick of him using ratings as some indicator that "the folks" agree with him. I watch Bill-O every night, and I scream at the television that he's an idiot!
