WorldNetDaily founder refers to "attempted media lynching of Jerry Corsi"
SUMMARY: WorldNetDaily.com founder Joseph Farah asserted that Jerome Corsi was the target of an "attempted media lynching" for his book The Obama Nation and urged readers who were "angry" about it to "[b]uy extra copies of his book and distribute them to your friends."
In his August 15 column, WorldNetDaily.com founder, editor, and CEO Joseph Farah called the criticism that WND staff reporter Jerome Corsi has received for his new book an "attempted media lynching." Farah directed readers who were "angry about the attempted media lynching of Jerry Corsi" to buy the book, The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality (Threshold Editions, August 2008). He wrote: "Buy Corsi's book. Buy extra copies of his book and distribute them to your friends. Keep this book on the best-sellers list right through the Nov. 4 election. Buy an autographed copy or two from WND, the news agency that employs him full-time."
Farah's directive to "Buy Corsi's book" was hyperlinked to a page on WND's "Shop" website selling Corsi's book.
From Farah's August 15 column, headlined "I stand with Jerry Corsi":
Isn't it interesting how Jerome Corsi has received more scrutiny from the Big Media in the last 24 hours than Barack Obama has received in his entire political career?
Has Jerry Corsi said things and written things in his life that he regrets? Undoubtedly. But he is not running for president of the United States. He is simply a courageous, dedicated journalist -- an intrepid investigator, a two-time No. 1 best-selling author, a Harvard Ph.D and a man of principle.
I am proud to have him working for WND.
If you are as angry about the attempted media lynching of Jerry Corsi, there's something you can do about it.
And, most of all, read it for yourself.

Has Jerry Corsi said things and written things in his life that he regrets?
Wrong thing to say... People who support Corsi don't want him to regret anything he's said or done...they want him, and themselves, to be proud of being ignorant racist goons. Hey, Jerome...White Power!
Buy an autographed copy or two from WND, the news agency that emplys him full-time.
I love two-fers--not only does this show where Corsi's sales figures come from, it shows that WorldNutDaily is a dedicated white-supremacist organization...
I've got my money on Jews.
Exactly...just like they took down the Titanic. ;>)
I vehemently disagree with most of what Joseph Farah says, but he's always been courteous to me, so I feel I owe him one. He is absolutely NOT anti-Jewish. In fact, on many occasions, he has spoken out or had his columnists speak out against anti-Semitism. Okay fine, many ultra-conservative Christians want to see the Jews convert to Christianity, but in all the years I've known him (about 12 years), I have never once heard him say anything anti-Jewish. Our disagreements are often about theology, but more often than not, we disagree on politics-- after all, he's a rightie and I am (gasp) a liberal. But he too is very displeased with Bush, and has called for Bush to be impeached, so at least we have that in common! (Mr Farah, like me, is a big fan of the Constitution, whereas this president is not...)
But, that said, his defence of the Corsi book is disappointing but not surprising for an ultra-rightie web-site. He's just playing to his base.
It's sad.
By now, Corsi expects each and every one of his new york times best sellera to pay the bills (911 conspiracies, swiftest of boaters, NAFTAs NorthAmericanUnions, abominations). What's a harvard phd sposed to do to make a living? Guess ya gotta go dumpsta divin'.
It's sad.
I must salute Joey Farah for being the greatest source of unintentional comedy I know of - the best joke of all being how oblivious Farah is as to what a laughingstock both he and WorldNutDaily are.
By comparison, I consider the National Enquirer to be a paragon of high journalism.
Due process is an alien concept in neocon world. They convict endlessly without any trial. To convict the way they do means an acceptance of a dangerous part of their world view.
Also O'Really will have someone pick up on it as further evidence that the leftwing is dangerously violent. You want that?
Farah has called for his people (on WND) to not vote at all....
a strange strategy to say the least.
You know, they could really increase sales if they printed Corsi's work on strong, absorbent, 2-ply paper and, instead of just putting it into bookstores, they could put it in almost EVERY store, next to the Charmin.
Then, it would sell 4 (or more ) copies at a time!
Joseph Farah formerly was editor of the now defunct Sacramento Tribune, which was owned by billionaire Pittsburgh publisher Richard Mellon Scaife, founder of the "vast rightwing conspiracy."
Worldnetdaily is just another facet of this conservative Republican slime machine.
