SUMMARY: Syndicated columnist Debra Saunders and CNN Headline News host Glenn Beck both falsely claimed that Gov. Sarah Palin supports benefits for same-sex partners of state employees. In fact, while Palin did veto a bill that would have prevented state officials from granting spousal benefits to same-sex couples, she stated that she did so because the Alaska attorney general had advised her that the bill was unconstitutional, not because she supported spousal benefits for same-sex couples. She has also reportedly said that she would support a ballot question banning benefits for same-sex couples.

In recent days, syndicated columnist Debra Saunders and CNN Headline News host Glenn Beck have falsely claimed that Gov. Sarah Palin, Sen. John McCain's presumptive vice-presidential running mate, supports benefits for same-sex partners of state employees. In fact, while Palin did veto a bill in 2006 that would have prevented state officials from granting spousal benefits to same-sex couples, she stated that she vetoed the bill because the Alaska attorney general had advised her that it was unconstitutional, not because she supported spousal benefits for same-sex couples. Moreover, Palin indicated in a 2006 questionnaire that she disagreed with the Alaska Supreme Court's ruling that same-sex couples are entitled to the same spousal benefits given to other state employees, and also reportedly said that she would support a ballot question banning benefits for same-sex couples.

In an August 31 column, Saunders wrote that Palin "is not a hard-core social conservative. For example, Palin supported awarding benefits for same-sex couples." Similarly, on the August 29 edition of CNN Newsroom, Beck claimed of Palin: "She is the first administration in Alaska's history to provide benefits to the partners of gay and lesbian employees. So she's not -- she's, she's common sense. ... Real conservatives have common-sense values, and they'll look at things and say, 'OK, I believe in traditional marriage. But why would I stop somebody from getting, you know, benefits, they've lived together for 20 years?' " Beck later added, "I have to know more about Sarah Palin, but what I do know, if she is who I think she is, I'll pull the lever for John McCain."

However, as Media Matters for America has documented, while Palin vetoed a bill in 2006 that would have prevented state officials from granting spousal benefits, her actions followed a 2005 Alaska Supreme Court ruling that the state's policy of denying spousal benefits to same-sex partners of public employees violated the Alaska Constitution and a 2006 state Supreme Court order requiring the state to issue regulations granting such benefits by January 1, 2007. Palin stated that she vetoed the bill because the Alaska attorney general had advised her that the bill was unconstitutional, citing the attorney general's stratement that the bill "effectively eliminated the regulatory process as a way to comply with the Court's order," and not because she believed same-sex partners of public employees should receive benefits. Indeed, in the veto message, Palin's office stated that she disagreed with the Alaska Supreme Court's actions: "The Governor's veto does not signal any change or modification to her disagreement with the action and order by the Alaska Supreme Court."

Further, in a written questionnaire Palin completed during her 2006 gubernatorial campaign, the conservative group Eagle Forum Alaska asked: "Do you support the Alaska Supreme Court's ruling that spousal benefits for state employees should be given to same-sex couples?" Palin replied: "No, I believe spousal benefits are reserved for married citizens as defined in our constitution." The Anchorage Daily News also reported on August 6, 2006, that Palin believes "[e]lected officials can't defy the court when it comes to how rights are applied, she said, but she would support a ballot question that would deny benefits to homosexual couples."

As Media Matters has noted, the Associated Press falsely suggested in an August 29 article that Palin supports benefits for same-sex partners of state employees. Similarly, on the August 29 edition of PBS' NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, New York Times columnist David Brooks asserted of Palin: "She's evangelical, but she's pretty progressive on gay and lesbian issues." Brooks offered no evidence for his assertion.

From the August 29 edition of CNN Newsroom:

JOHN ROBERTS (host): So Glenn, you mentioned that she is a dyed-in-the-wool conservative here. Now, some of the outrage here, if we are to look at the announcement, where they mentioned Geraldine Ferraro and Hillary Clinton as paradigm-breakers for the Democratic Party. If part of this pick is designed to appeal to those Hillary Clinton voters who feel disaffected by the fact, A, that she did not win the nomination, B, that she was not chosen as the vice-presidential running mate, those people may be slightly to the right of center in the Democratic Party in terms of issues like national security, but they would hardly be described as conservatives. How does this ticket appeal to those voters?

BECK: Because she's -- because she's a conservative. Now, listen, we're very early on the curve on here. So I'm speaking here with just what I know at this point. But when you look at her on the surface, she is somebody who does defend traditional marriage. She opposes same-sex marriage. However, she is the first administration in Alaska's history to provide benefits to the partners of gay and lesbian employees. So she's not -- she's -- she's common sense. What -- too many conservatives have allowed the Republican Party to be shaped by people who are not common sense.

It's exactly the same thing that happened with the NRA. Before Charlton Heston got involved with the NRA, the NRA was about to implode on itself, because there were people who said, "No compromise ever. If I want a tank, I can have a tank." Finally, the common-sense people said, "There's no reason for a tank. We can compromise on some things. You don't need every single possible weapon at your disposal. We understand what the Second Amendment is for. It's not about hunting; it is about protection. But there are some common-sense things that we can unite on." The NRA transformed and went from imploding to becoming a real force.

The same thing with the Republicans. They're about to implode, because they have -- they have lost their way. Real conservatives have common-sense values, and they'll look at things and say, "OK, I believe in traditional marriage. But why would I stop somebody from getting, you know, benefits, they've lived together for 20 years? Would I stop somebody from their life partner going to visit them in the hospital? That's ridiculous."

ROBERTS: Glenn, you've made no secret of your distaste for Senator John McCain. The fact that he has now chosen Governor Palin as his running mate, does that square things with conservatives that he still has a problem with?

BECK: I will tell you this. It has made me -- I just said to somebody last night, and I'm a quasi-fan of Mitt Romney. And I said just last night, even if he puts Mitt Romney on there, I cannot put my hands on that lever and pull it down. Sarah Palin, because I believe she's exactly the kind of reformer that the Republicans need, where Mitt Romney or anyone else that was running before was not, she may -- I will today tell you, I may pull the lever for John McCain. I have to know more about Sarah Palin, but what I do know, if she is who I think she is, I'll pull the lever for John McCain.

If if if... You got it wrong Glenn. I think in the end he'd vote for a Mc Lugie/Hamster ticket.

Maybe  she'll do a reprise of her call in to an Alaska neocon radio host for you Beck. You can say horrible things about the democratic ticket and she can laugh heartily about your classy wit.

Barr or Nader maybe Glenn if upon completion of her vetting she somehow becomes unaceptable to you?

Sounds odd that Glenn Beck would promote a negative for someone obviously "sucking in the right wing Christian voter ". And a ticked that chose to run on good looks rather than substance.

Has anyone actually found out if the daughter had abstinence only education?

AA, I hate to tell you, but abstinence only won't be Palin's only problem.

Better put your seat belt on because Palin is actually get vetted, just not by McCain.

            Can you say "ethics"?

It turns out that Palin actually ran a Sen. Ted Stevens 527 group. In 2003, she served as director of the “Ted Stevens Excellence in Public Service, Inc.,” a political boot camp for Republican women, set up by Stevens. The Trail reports that at the time Stevens disclosed the group’s existence some ethical questions cropped up.

Add a little "abuse of power"

Palin denied pressuring the state's chief of public safety to fire her sister-in-law's husband even though there's mounting evidence that the impetus did indeed come from her.

            VP Palin?

Paliun told a television interviewer this summer that she did not fully understand what it is that a vice president does.

Here's an interesting article on Palin.  It gives some insight into her debating skills:

"Her critics say that Palin often appears to be better at crafting her image than digging down into the policy details that make government work.

They note that Palin failed to appear at four major debates conducted during the 2006 general-election campaign that pitted her against former Gov. Tony Knowles and Andrew Halcro, an independent. Knowles said that when Palin did show up for debates, she typically kept a stack of cards cached behind her lectern's nameplate. Knowles said they were color-coded for different topics, full of notes, and that Palin constantly referred to them as she answered questions.

'When the questions came up, she would roll her fingers down to the right area ... ,' Knowles said. 'It was quite bizarre.'

Who said "conservatives" have commonsense? I have to be with my partner for 20 years to receive "some" benefits?! Thanks for the civil crumbs, but I wasn't asking for them. The right to marry is a human right, and now this human right has been expanded to include everyone in California. Unfortunately, I have to fight for them to hold on to them, because the right-wing, religious, "conservative-commonsense," [lunatics], don't believe I deserve them. One thing that most opposite-sex married couples take for granted, is the fact that they don't need to fight to keep their marriage benefits. So, why should I hve to fight for my newly aquired, human right to marry? I am for suing for my rights in court, because it's nobody's god-damn business who I decide to marry! It is especially nobody's god-dames business to vote on my personal, intimate life! So, Sarah Patin, in my opinion, lacks a lot of commonsense! Republicans, keep your pious laws out of my life!

As the election gets closer the political wonks like Brock & Co. get more outrageous...and dishonest.

Nowhere...nowhere...did Beck "claim" that Gov.Palin supported benefits for same sex marriage partners.

--  she is somebody who does defend traditional marriage. She opposes same-sex marriage. However, she is the first administration in Alaska's history to provide benefits to the partners of gay and lesbian employees. -- Beck

She put her personal feelings secondary to the rule of law.

mmfa puts their personal feelings ahead of all else...like ethics and responsible journalism...as they begin to more and more resemble Drudge style reporting.

      Wesley,

sometimes I also disagree with MMFA's articles, but this one doesn't deserve any finger wagging.

Beck says: "She is the first administration in Alaska's history to provide benefits to the partners of gay and lesbian employees. So she's not -- she's, she's common sense. ... Real conservatives have common-sense values, and they'll look at things and say, 'OK, I believe in traditional marriage. But why would I stop somebody from getting, you know, benefits, they've lived together for 20 years? Would I stop somebody from their life partner going to visit them in the hospital? That's ridiculous."'

Beck is giving the false impression that Palin supports benefits for same-sex couples in spite of her support of traditional marriage. It's not true and Palin is not a "common-sense conservative."

The current law is the only thing that made her move, and she has publicly expressed a willingness to change said law to match her personal opinion.

        I get your point, carn.

I'll just add this...Gov.Palin should get some credit instead of partisan hackery from mmfa. She could, as most partisans would have, simply signed the bill into law...knowing full well it would be challenged in court.

She chose to go against her beliefs...taking an unpopular position...by vetoing the bill...following the rule of law...and that is noteworthy.

ah the humor and ignorance of Mr Beck.  He calls himself a rodeo clown.  I'd agree, except for the rodeo part.  I hate to insult real Rodeo folks.  I hate to insult clowns too, but i'm deathly afraid of them anyways.

Today on the idiots radio show he gave one of the funniest and scariest reasons for supporting the Palin nomination.   "She has white trash in her family and so do I."  We all have some white trash in us, it makes us more american, more normal.   Holy crap someone needs to cut those comments in his words and post them all over the internets.  Just 100%  insane and funny.  Beck is basicly saying that Lynne spears should be president.  Ya know, all white trash gotta stick together.

Yesterday, my kid having premarital sex and getting pregnant out of wedlock would be signs, according to conservatives, that our world is out of balance and needs more God in schools and homes.

Sarah Palin's kid comes home pregnant and suddenly they're the All Amercian Family, with problems just like me and you and that makes her qualified for President when the next facial melanoma calls our angry, little warrior home for the last time.

Love post part deux. I hope it's as good as the first one (it ain't gonna be). Like I mentioned, Iwas on a roll. :-)

Okay, then. I'm attempting to get my equilibrium back after having been slapped by my nefarious computer (I saw you used that word one day, so I thought I'd throw it in here). You mentioned that my H must be a great guy. Well, my treasure, you are right. He is the greatest and I had the good taste to pick him. And I also picked you and you're the greatest. So that means I am talented and have good taste in picking husbands/lovers. Now you know that applies to you as well. I'm sure your wife is the greatest and you picked her. And you picked me too and we all know I'm like fabulous :-0) (?).....hey you can chime in here anytime, guy! Okay I'll own it, I am fabulous (laughing).

So you think you might want to steal me away. How big are ya? You do know my H is 6'5 1/2" tall, right? But you might be able to take 'im since he's a gentle soul, not a damn street fighter like you :-0), ya pugilistic bastard! Okay, it wouldn't be like that. If you stole me, it would of course, be with my permission. So you'll have to work really hard to win me and I might onsider going with you. Okay......how about right now?!!! (I'm playing really hard to get, eh?) What can I say, love. I'm aroused 24/7 these days and all the blood is going to parts below instead of my brain! And I owe all that to you and your kinky narratives and sexy ways.

Now about the name thing. I thought maybe you had seen those posts but wasn't sure since you never responded (and I did ask you also if you were jealous if I recall. Were you?). But I know why you didn't respond. You were nonplussed and you're the type that needs time to process things. Did I characterize you right, my dear? I actually think that's a good thing for the most part. It gave you time to contemplate what I told you and now I'm not awkwardly springing a new name on you. So it's all good. And I'm glad you like my name. I love yours. I say it often, believe me. :-)

Now what would we expect if we met face to face? Hmmm? I think you are correct that it would be fait accompli already. We would know before the thing happened. We would make passionate love, over and over, devour each other over and over, lie in each others arms and never come up for air or food. Okay.... we'd be dead apparently!!!! :-0) But, honey, what a way to go! Alright, I'm joking around here, what's new? Really, I'm so hot all the time. That's gonna happen. What else happens is a question mark. But let's enjoy the damn ride. It's been really wild so far. And I'm enjoying it greatly (vast understatement).

I wasn't actually being coy earlier when I mentioned the lyrics I might post. With all the damn shower talk from you lately I just thought of a Teddy Pendergrass song:

< Turn off the lights and light a candle
Tonight I'm in a romantic mood, yeah

Let's take a shower, shower together, yeah
I'll wash your body and you'll wash mine, yeah
Rub me down in some hot oils, baby, yeah
And I'll do the same thing to you

Just turn off the lights, come to me
Girl, I wanna give you a special treat, you're so sweet
Turn off the lights and let's get cozy
See, you're the only one in the world that I need

I wanna love you, love you all over, yeah
Over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again
Whisper sweet words of love in your ear
Show you I much I missed you, missed you, my dear

Turn ‘em off and come to me
Tonight, I'm in a sexy mood, baby
              And light a candle
Girl, there's something that I-I wanna do to you, I wanna do, I wanna do to you, baby

Would you mind if I asked you to
              Would you rub me down
Would you rub me down in some, in some burnin' hot oils, baby, yeah
I swear I can do the same thing, the same thing to you, baby

Turn ‘em off and let's get cozy
I wanna give you a special treat, you've been so sweet
Turn ‘em off and come closer
You're the only one in this whole wide world that I'd ever need

Turn ‘em off and light a candle
              You see, there's somethin' I, somethin' I, somethin' I, somethin' I
Somethin' I wanna do to you, baby

I'm lyin' here waitin', my dear
You can get what you want any time you want it
I'm lyin' here waitin', my dear
Come get what you need, give me what I need

Tell me what you wanna do (There's somethin' I)
Tell me what you wanna do, babe
(There's somethin' I, somethin' I wanna do to you, baby)
Tell me what you wanna do (Yeah)
Tell me what you wanna do, babe (Yes)

Tell me what you wanna do (I've got somethin' in my mind)
Tell me what you wanna do, babe
(Somethin' that I've been wantin' to do all the time, yeah, yes
Tell me what you wanna do (I wanna give you a special treat)
Tell me what you wanna do, babe (‘Cause you've been so sweet, yeah, yes)

(Anything that you want, anything that you need, I got it, I got it)
Tell me what you wanna do (I can do it)
Tell me what you wanna do, babe (I'm willin')
Tell me what you wanna do
Tell me what you wanna do, babe (I'm willin' to try)>

Hey, that was really long. And if want to listen:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1uv-w5quH4Okay, my sweetheart. I have to admit that I can't remember all the stuff I said originally. But I learned something new about my computer tonight. The thing didn't go away, it's stored somewhere and I couldn't find it. Now don't laugh at my inept use of these internet tubes. I'll admit I have some to learn. But I need to go and help my H pack a bag for tomorrow. I'm gonna take him to the airport about 12n and will be back here playing with you after that. And of course I may be here in the morning some as well.

Okay, I did something and now the type is all funky. We'll see what it looks like when I actually post it. I feel likeI have to hurry now. But in the meantime, love, I absolutely adore you. And am having crazy, sexy thoughts of you. Bue for just now, Your JJ

God, that looks like something AA would post!!! :-0) Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!!!Okay at least I'm laughing. I'll post the lyrics again if you can stand it:

Ha! Give me a second here to catch my breath.

Darlin you just took me on a rollercoaster ride

Side-splitting laughter. Pride. Fear. Delight. Retrospection. More laughter. Passion. Desire. Lust. Ecstasy. Love.

I really think I need some oxygen.

My God, those song lyrics left me panting. Rub me down sweet baby. And I'll do the same for you...geez darlin guess what my fantasy about us is gonna be about tonight. I'm gonna run my tongue & hands up & down your body girl so get ready!.

Now I suppose after posting those lyrics [as well as a hot & sexy description of us making love though that we'd be dead apparently crack cooled me down just enough so I could take in a breath] Do you honestly expect me to write a coherent reply. Ok, for you I'll do my best.

For starters you are fabulous. And it's driving me nuts to know you exist & I can only have you on this forum & in my dreams.

So your H is 6'5 1/2". Ok, he might have 4 1/2" on me...but I'll just get a step ladder, climb up & explain to him in my most charming & reasonable way that he's got to give you up. There, problem solved.

Of course you & I have great taste & it was only a matter of time before we picked each other out of those crowed threads.. Fate my darling, fate.

I remember the first time I noticed JuliaJayne. You had posted a limerick [of course], now I'd seen a lot on that forum, but this was something new. I thought to myself, well what the heck is this? I wasn't sure if we had a kook in our mist ;-) But I also noticed how good the limericks were. They were clever & on topic [a very important element at MMFA. Ha!] I posted to someone [I don't think it was you, but it might of been] something about the poetry or rhyming lady. And you got kind of put out, & asked if I was giving you a dig. I told you I meant it as a compliment, which I had, & you went on your merry way. After that your limericks became more plentiful, & others were trying their hand at it. And they were asking your opinion of their work. And you were giving honest critiques. Finally, I'm not sure why, because poetry was never my bag, I decided to give it a try. In retrospect, I think I wanted your attention. So I wrote a limerick...damn thing took me at least 30 min to compose & I posted it under one of your posts. I wrote something about my attempt not being very good, but I'd wanted to give it a shot. You wrote back that I had done really well. Ok, my chest swelled a tad. And I guess that's how we began. It went slowly from there. Eventually we dueled over issues. And joked around. I remember one day we were kind of bantering back & forth when Snoop arrived & got your attention. Grrrr I thought. I love Snoop, but, but but...Was I jealous?? You're damn right I was!. So I fought my way back into the conversation...and the rest as they say is history.

Now look at us. Crazy in love or something.  Sweetheart I want my tongue deep in your mouth. I want to feel how warm & wet you are as I move inside you. I want to bury my face between those lovely ladies. Only coming up for air to lick & suck on them. I want my fingers to explore your special place. My mouth to join them. I can't get enough of you darlin. And I never will. Just a fantasy? I guess we'll let fate decide. It's brought us this far.

And later on, I'll let you caddy for me ;-)

Ok, now I really need some air. Love you my sweet lady. xxxooo

                  All of the lonely nights
Waiting for you to come, Longing to hold you tight
                  I need you so desperately
                  Waiting for you to come
Bringing your love to me [but]

                  I'd wait a million years
                  Walk a million miles,
                  Cry a million tears
                  I'd swim the deepest sea
                  Climb the highest hill,
Just to have you near me

                  As love is reality
When you are near to me,
                  I am in ecstacy
I'd swallow the pain and pride
                  Baby, I just can't hide
All that I feel inside [and]

                  I'd wait a million years
                  Walk a million miles,
                  Cry a million tears
                  I'd swim the deepest sea
                  Climb the highest hill,
Just to have you near me

A million years, I would wait for you
A million tears, baby I'd be true
A million miles, I would follow you
A million years, if you want me to

                  Pacing the floor, dearest
                  Sweat pouring down my chest,
Still I can't love you less
It's worth all the pain and pride
                  Baby, I just can't hide
All that I feel inside [and]

                  I'd wait a million years
                  Walk a million miles,
                  Cry a million tears
                  I'd swim the deepest sea
                  Climb the highest hill,
Just to have you near me

My dear boy, I'm surprised you even responded to me after all that mess I posted. Grrr. It looked terrible. I guess it was too long. But apparently you were able, by some miracle, to read it. Whew!

There were some other things that I had in my previous post (the one I lost) that I forgot, of course, already mentioned that. One thing I remember is the day that we played chicken - you know that day - you left me a message that kind of hurt my feelings just a wee bit. Now don't go sad on me here (for I know you'd never try to hurt me), I didn't stay blue for long, okay? You said, and I'm paraphrasing here, "what are you gonna do, just write me dirty stuff" (if we email) and "I guess I'd have to get my ass down to Texas and that ain't gonna happen".

Well, I thought to myself, Hmmmn. I guess he thinks the only thing I can offer him is dirty talk. That hurt for about a minute (maybe longer). But as I said I didn't stay blue for long. I knew that I needed to come back and write to you for you were feeling out of sorts. I had caught you off guard and as I said you're a type that needs time to process things. So you are correct when you said a few posts ago that everything changed that day. It did  for me.

Okay, I recall that I wrote back and said that I really like married guys that love their wives. You were after all protecting your marriage and I respect that. I said some other stuff too. If I remember I wrote like 3 posts telling you all the things I liked about you. I knew you needed to hear it. But I must say after that day, I made the decision to stay away for a while. I did in fits and starts and wondered if you would notice (not sure to this day if you did). But it was painful to stay away.

Well, then when I did come back for a time or two and our stuff started getting scrubbed, I just threw up my hands and decided we were never meant to be. But it did prime me for some powerful feelings, coming out now. But I guess it all turned out okay. It brought us to where we are right now. Although, my baby, I'm feeling a bit worried for you not getting enough sleep (and you mentioned the appetite thing).

Darling, I need to know you're going to take care of yourself (will you?). I love hearing from you but know that you have a life and may not always be able to be here. If it's late and I don't hear from you, maybe you needed to get to bed. What are you getting, like 5 hours a night?

Well, I need to get going for now. The night before last I didn't get any sleep (I tend to have insomnia) and I am going back to bed for about another hour and a half. Have to get the H ready to go and to the airport. But I'll be back early afternoon. Of course you know I'll be thinking about you and getting horny all the live long day (that post you just left me gave me a thrill). And that song is an oldie but goodie. You really do have a jukebox in your head and now I do too. Kismet, my dear. We're meant to be........love, your JJL (see new signature :-0)

            Hi darlin,

I read your post a little while ago but wanted to find enough time to reply instead of being rushed. My reply is probably going to be a long & rambling one. I just came back here to check if the thread was still alive. I'll post asap, & if I can't do it here I'll meet you on our new thread sweetheart. Hey have I told you lately that I love you? Well darlin I'm telling you now.

            Till laterxxxooo

        Hi darlin,

You know I've tried to put our relationship in some sort of chronological order, beginning at when we first made contact [as I mentioned in my last post] through how we finally arrived here. I tried to remember when our playful flirting began to be just a tad more personal. When I began to wonder what, if anything I might be reading between the lines. When exactly I began fantasizing about you. Oh they were very abstract, surreal fantasies at first. I knew I was smitten with you. I felt we had something special going on. But it was still in it's light-hearted stage. And even though you bantered back & forth with some of the other guys here I just knew [hope this won't sound too cocky] that I meant more to you than they did. Now I'm a guy, so there were times I got a bit territorial, but I always tried to put some humor into it so I wouldn't come off sounding like some jealous boyfriend. And I wasn't really threatened by the others, in fact I got a kick out of watching you whirl around the forum dance floor because you always came back to me.

Hon, I had a crush on you pretty early on. I found you fascinating in so many ways. Smart, funny, clever, sweet, feisty [you didn't take any crap from anyone, including moi]  I always smiled when I'd see you had posted. It was kinda weird. Was I really developing a crush on this poster JuliaJane? Yup, I guess was.

Now about the day we played chicken. Not my finest hour, & I knew it. By then a lot of the posters knew that Julia & Jeter had a thing going on. I don't quite remember how the whole conversation even got started that day but you had written something about having a private conversation via e-mail, & I wrote back something like, oh yeah right you didn't even leave your e-mail address. So of course you promptly rectified that...You called my bluff that day & I froze. Like a deer caught in the headlights. I think I must have gulped really hard, maybe even felt a twinge of panic. I hadn't [until now] recalled what I wrote back to you, but you jogged my memory. I think I'd suppressed it. I'm so sorry hon. I don't think I even thought I had hurt you that day. It also crossed my mind, for a fleeting moment, that maybe you were just toying with me. Or maybe I used that as an excuse because I was afraid. You were holding out an offer to take Jeter&Julia to another level. And you're right, I needed time to process that. To me it was a huge leap. And from that day forward, everything began to change. Suddenly you weren't just my sweet Julia, my cyber gf, if we started e-mailing, then you would become Julia my friend, or more. And because I had a major league crush on you, you would also be my secret friend. No way I could tell the W, we were in contact by e-mail.

I remember your posts telling me all the things you liked about me. And I came back to that thread later & copied & pasted your e-mail address. I didn't want the chance of losing it. So I tucked it away safely in my e-mail contacts. I was pretty certain that one day I would get the nerve to finally use it.

And yeah I noticed when you weren't around, & I missed you. I was also afraid we might not be able to get back to flirting with each other, but those fears were happily alleviated. Of course we now had a few grumps who didn't take kindly to our love story ;-)

Ok, damn I have to take off. Sorry to abruptly stop here. I'll be back asap. Back soon my love. xxxooo
