Limbaugh repeats baseless smear that Obama is misrepresenting his ethnicity*
SUMMARY: Rush Limbaugh baselessly asserted of Sen. Barack Obama: "Do you know he has not one shred of African-American blood?" Limbaugh continued: "He's Arab. You know, he's from Africa. He's from Arab parts of Africa. ... [H]e's not African-American. The last thing that he is is African-American."
On the September 22 broadcast of his syndicated radio show, Rush Limbaugh baselessly claimed that Sen. Barack Obama is "not black," and went on to ask: "Do you know he has not one shred of African-American blood?" Limbaugh continued: "He's Arab. You know, he's from Africa. He's from Arab parts of Africa. ... [H]e's not African-American. The last thing that he is is African-American."
Media Matters for America has previously documented that a similar claim was forwarded by Fox News contributor Monica Crowley when she guest-hosted the June 23 broadcast of The Laura Ingraham Show. A caller to the show claimed that Obama is "not really African- American. He's Arab." In response, Crowley said that "according to this genealogy -- and again, because I haven't done the research, I can't verify this -- but according to this guy Kenneth Lamb, Barack Obama is not black African, he is Arab African."
In a February 14 blog entry, "journalist, op-ed columnist, radio news-interview program host" Kenneth E. Lamb claimed -- without producing any evidence -- that "Sen. Obama is actually Arab-American" and that "Mr. Obama is not legally African-American." Lamb did not cite to any research or government documents, but invited readers seeking "proof" of his claims to "[r]esearch the Kenyan records for yourself," adding: "You will find that his father was officially classified as 'Arab African' by the Kenyan government."
From the September 22 broadcast of Premiere Radio Networks' The Rush Limbaugh Show:
LIMBAUGH: These polls on how one-third of blue-collar white Democrats won't vote for Obama because he's black, and -- but he's not black. Do you know he has not one shred of African-American blood? He doesn't have any African -- that's why when they asked whether he was authentic, whether he's down for the struggle. He's Arab. You know, he's from Africa. He's from Arab parts of Africa. He's not -- his father was -- he's not African-American. The last thing that he is is African-American. I guess that's splitting hairs, I don't -- it's just all these little things, everything seems upside-down today in this country.

Wha?! This Limbaugh feller must be out of anything at all to say. Did you know he has not one shred of human decency?
this Limbaugh feller must have gotten a hold of some extraordinarily good oxycontin, maybe a new fresh batch
These media matters folks must have gotten some good psilocybin because they can't figure out that he's just yanking their chain, knowing they will be outraged about this statement. He's playing you people like a fiddle, and you're falling for it like the simpletons you are.
Phil,
I think you go that a little backwards. The simpletons are people like you that fall for his "I was just joking" garbage. He is who he is, a racist, drug addicted, fool who is great at convincing a whole lot of people that being racist and stupid are okay.
I don't fall for his 'I was joking' garbage. I don't even listen to the guy. But, I do read mmfa and see how they keep falling for his garbage. So I got nothing backwards, I know who the simpletons are.
Well Phil, By that you have proven that you don't. You have also shown your own racist tendencies.
Skeptical Please dson't lower yourself to the level of this Dittohead Bigot.
I think it's best that we ignore thr trolls

Never argue with a fool. People might not know the difference.

I disagree. Ignoring these idiot trolls only makes them think they've made a point and makes us look like we lack conviction enough to stand up for our principles.
They need to be attacked relentlessly for their slanders, smears, misrepresentations and lies and they need to attacked for the cover they provide angry extremists like, Rush Limbaugh.
"we lack conviction"
How true.
That's a good post to bear in mind the next time you talk about honesty or something being taken out of context. What is this behavior supposed to gain for you?
So I got nothing backwards, I know who the simpletons are.
Nope - you've got EVERYTHING backwards, Phil, because YOU are one of the simpletons.
hey Phil, you are so funny. we all know Limbaugh is required listening in the White House, by Cheney's orders along with every FOX program.. That doesn't prevent Media Matters reporting verbatim what spews out of his mouth. As far as " yankin' my chain " it is a method of diverting criticism. Little kids do that when confronted with the truth and you start hearing this ' i was just joking " story and kills the credibility.. Ann Coulter was good at it.
Wow, no wonder Limbaugh is the conservative's dream. Always focused on the issues affecting this country... NOT! What a master race baiter.
Actually, snoopy, I think this is important. If Limbaugh's correct, and Obama is "from Africa," he might not be eligible to even run for president. Wait, does Obama have a birth certificate that proves he was born in the U.S.? I demand answers!
Ummm, bert, which one of the 57 states was he born in?
Is that all you got Phil? How many stupid things have GWB and McCain said? Let's talk about Spain maybe!
Or how many houses you have to own before you can be considered common.
His muslim faith will guide him through these troubled times. And his partner watched Roosevelt on TV during the great depression.
You're reaching. He should have said "went on the radio", of course, but there's no implication that Biden saw or heard it firsthand. You're actually diminishing your own point by overstating it.
Ummm, bert, which one of the 57 states was he born in?
Apparantly, Philib, YOU were born (and continue to reside) in the State of Confusion.
writer, you're starting to lose it. You haven't posted 'on topic' for days now. What's up with that? Are you turning into another solon, who only calls people names and similar tactics?
Look at Mr Pot, calling Mr Kettle an Arab.
And to which state was McCain born?
Obama has a birth certificate, you can view it here:
http://fightthesmears.com/articles/5/birthcertificate
Come on, Snoopy, leave "race" out of this discussion!
funny, Oscar!
I second that Snoopy.......
I have to ask though..... is this Obama charactor a Christian with a pastor problem, a muslim with ties to terrorists, or is he a half-rican? With Limpballs.... you never can tell!
I asked this on a thread last weekend....... which one of these rightwing nutjobs is finally going to say the 'N' word out loud on his/her show so that the flood gates can finally be open so that the small fraction of our fellow citizens that are waiting for it can finally go on to the next step in idiocy?
Perhaps Rush should stick with defending Sarah Palin from sexism......... oh..... nevermind!!
What a master race baiter.
http://www.bushflash.com/nazi.html
Okay, so, wait, his father was from east-Central Africa, a country called Kenya. His father was a black African. His mother was American. An African, and an American. Doesn't that technically make him "African-American"?
Also, I somewhat object to MMFA calling this a "smear". Perhaps they should just say "Limbaugh wrong again", or "Like others, Limbaugh is wrong on Obama's origin". Personally, I think we should be saying, "If he is Muslim, or if he does have Arab blood in him, what would be the big deal?" However, I'm not saying we shouldn't correct those who get someone's origin wrong, especially if the goal is to smear them with geography or paint them as a liar, or paint them as someone who is trying to hide somethiing.
That's actually a good point to consider. I think we overlook that being muslim shouldn't be considered a smear because we focus on the fact that republicans are baiting race against race. Here's another example from today of republicans trying to push minority on minority race baiting.
My wife (hispanic, BTW) and her friends all tell me that if Obama loses this thing it will be because of race. From what I see I think she's right.
if Obama loses this thing it will be because of race.
Snoop, I might have argued about that a few months ago, but now sadly I agree.
Don't feel bad, bud. My dad told me years ago that the republicans abandoned the small business, and now that I took a risk and started one on the side, I see way more then I ever wanted to know. My primary job gave me a few months because they are so big that outsourcing is the only form of profit, and my small business is being killed by gas prices. I've been putting my resume out for months now, out of 50 distributions I've had one interview. I thought the 80's were bad when working for gov't contracts did away with overtime for salaried employees. Boy, was I wrong...
I read somewhere that Yahoo has a poll that says Obama loses 6% votes because of his race.
I think it speaks a lot of good about this country because if he loses, one of the reasons is because only 6% of the country is racist. I would have liked it to be zero but 6 is better than 80.
Unfortunately, all the racists at red state got rush's memo...
That's the 6% who will admit to it.
"her friends all tell me that if Obama loses this thing it will be because of race."
No, it won't be because of race, but that will be the excuse used over and over and over by all those who lost another election because you can't find a qualified candidate. If it's one thing we learned from the loss's by Gore and Kerry, liberals sure know how to whine about losing.
If (and when) he loses, it will because people don't want a 'president by committee'. Which is what O'bama promises to do. Did you watch the 60 minutes interview when they asked what skills he has to be president? He said he'd be a great 'organizer'. I don't think the country needs a community organizer running the most powerful free nation in the world. But, you're free to blame race, if that's what floats your boat.
Your right Phil because the great "decider" has done such a good job!
McCain: the tenor of this election would be much different if that uppity N-word just agreed to my request for townhalls...
Snoopy, are you complaining because McCain used the "N-word"? If so, where are your complaints about Carter calling O'bama a "boy"?!?
Carter was talking about Obama when Obama was a boy!
Are you really that stupid?
No, too-wingnut, he wasn't. You want an audio clip? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umCo4qUJiOQ Unless Carter means that being 40-something is being a "black boy".
So, as I suspected. Your hypocritical tendecies are overpowering your willingness to differentiate between right and wrong. Thanks for the proof, too-wingnut.
>> No, too-wingnut, he wasn't. You want an audio clip?
I just listened to the clip, and it doesn't back up what you said. Cater says "This black boy, who grew up with just a loving mother and loving grandparents, and that's all he had to start with..."
So in now way was Carter denigrating Barack Obama.
Right, "this black boy". That's a 'current' form of describing someone. Ask writer, (he's a professional you know). Besides, you defending Carter only shows your own hypocrisy concerning racism. Democrats are allowed to call African-Americans "black boys" but republicans are forbidden from using the n-word. Who else is going to join snoopy, wingnut and manpants in the long list of racially hypocritical liberals?
"If (and when) he loses, it will because people don't want a 'president by committee'...I don't think the country needs a community organizer running the most powerful free nation in the world."
"Surround yourself with the best people you can find, delegate authority, and don't interfere as long as the policy you've decided upon is being carried out." - Ronald Reagan
Here's some transitive logic for you to all chew on.. in fact most of the diatribe here usually falls into this same category...
based on your assertion above and
a) Liberals hated Reagan and his policies.
b) Obama is embracing that policy
therefor- liberals should hate Obama and not promote it..
LOL... (damn I need to get out of here.. the liberal kool aid is contagious in causing altered thought processes)
Here's another.
a) People who post about "transitive logic" while knowing nothing about it are idiots.
b) MissDeeMinus shows she knows nothing about "transitive logic," yet she posts about it.
The conclusion to this syllogism is left as an exercise to the reader.
But, being the proud liberal hypocrit that you are, you can't argue that O'bama is embracing Reaganomics.
>>But, being the proud liberal hypocrit that you are, you can't argue that O'bama is embracing Reaganomics.
Uh huh, Phil. Sure. If Obama does one thing that is similar to Reagan, he is embracing Reagonomics?
I don't have a problem with delegating authority. Reagan was a joke, but that doesn't mean that every single aspect of every single position he took was wrong. This is just your binary thinking as if it applied to liberals. It doesn't work that way.
Ronald Regan, the great hero of the right, did exactly that. He ruled the country by organizing others (republican experts) to do his bidding. A favorite tactic of the republican propagandists to take credit for the sucesses of the other party and to blame the Democrats for their own mistakes.
"I don't think the country needs a community organizer running the most powerful free nation in the world. "
We know, Phil. We know you're a fascist and would love nothing more than to live in an authoritarian dictatorship, but the rest of us real Americans still believe everyone has a voice and that we are entitled to use our voice for change. We believe in community values and the collective wisdom that springs up from a free and educated society.
Shove your anti-American unitary executive frame straight up your a...
...ss
Like Stockton to Malone.
"Shove your anti-American unitary executive frame straight up your a..."
Oooh, are we hitting close to home? Maybe your guy will offer every voter a bribe to vote for him. Say...$1000 for each voter, that would be a good way of winning an election, since he can't win it on his own merits. Oh, darn...he just said he won't be able to afford all the free gifts he's promising everyone since Clinton's economic plan is ruining the American economy. So much for "change", we'll just have to settle for status quo. Good thing he has Biden as his VP, there isn't anyone more status quo than Biden, well...if you can get him to stop watching Roosevelt on TV.
It is a smear becauase it is a lie. When the big fat liar tells a lie about someone he despises, is the liar trying to put that person down or what? Come on. If words come out of this liars mouth about Obama it is a lie, no further research on any continent needed!
So, I waited. And it did not make Obama an Arab, not that there is anything wrong with it.
I am sorry but I could not understand the point you were trying to make with the second paragraph.
I also agree it is ridiculous to scream these allegations without proof and tell your readers to "go search in Kenya yourself".
Arrghh!!! I HATE this bloody new format!!!
Now all ya gotta do is master the caps lock and you can be our new resident screamer!
We had the same problem with formatting on the old thread, my friend. What we really need is a fix that refuses to forward format changes to other peoples' posts. That would require a programmer though.
On the positive side, thanks to bush and mccain, we will have several thousand IT programmers available...
</B> it used to work on the old format...
Ask for "change" and you get it. Now, you complain that you got change. Are liberals ever happy?
I agree that being called or just being "Arab" is not a smear. What is at issue here is that "black" and "Arab" in some circles are loaded words. Case in point, until the 2000 Census people who considered themselves "Arab" (a term the Census has difficuluty defining) were counted as "white". Now, in many circles "Arab" is not worthy of the distinction of "white" but rather "other". When will all of this end?
Hopefully, in November,
That's an insult to buzzard dung.
He's Arab. You know, he's from Africa. He's from Arab parts of Africa. He's not -- his father was -- he's not African-American. The last thing that he is is African-American.
Rush Limbaugh is not human. He's a pedophile. Ask him about the Viagra he brought with him from the Dominican Republic, and their child sex industry there. Hey, if Rush Limbaugh can flat-out lie about Obama being "Arab" - as if being Arab disqualifies you from humanity, the way Germans tried to disqualify Jews in the 1930's...
Eeeer, sorry. Let me present this more legibly:
Arabs make up 1% of the ethnic groups in Kenya: Kikuyu 22%, Luhya 14%, Luo 13%, Kalenjin 12%, Kamba 11%, Kisii 6%, Meru 6%, other African 15%, non-African (Asian, European, and Arab) 1%[2]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenya#Origins_of_the_country.27s_name
Obama's father was ethnic Luo. Limbaugh is a moron.
Obama's father was ethnic Luo. Limbaugh is a moron.
And this is news because.... ;-)
Don' t worry I'm sure Rush will use his logical skills to disprove Obama's factual ethnicity. It will probably go something like "Obama is an Arab name because it's only one letter from Osama: the most Arab name ever."
And Rush is only one letter from Tush, proving that he's an ass.
Wait a minute!
Do you mean to tell me that after listening to this pantload squawk about Obama being a "halfrican" and a "magic negro", now he's saying he's neither?
Christ, all I ask from these sleezebuckets is a little consistency. I'm tired of every rule changing to suit the talking point of the day. Are the people who listen to this guy mental defectives?
Rush is 50% himself and 50% drug addict....that would make him, let me add this up....an Ignorant Person with a drug habit. Remember what you said in a commercial Rush, you get caught buying illegal drugs, you should be thrown out of the country.
But Rush, your listeners are more ignorant than you...so you get to stay.
Forgive me if I am dragging anyone into old issues, but please help me out here. Is it worth another discussion about the First Amendment? Are outright lies or "smears" protected? Although being Arab is not a smear, the use of the word to describe someone who is running for high public office in a country that associates the word "Arab" with extreme fundamentalism that, unintended or not, many people associate with our "enemies" is highly damaging. For Limberger to falsely claim that Obama is Arab, is a lie. Am I wrong, here? Are outright lies protected by the First Amendment? Mondays are so confusing for me anyway. ????
At least you are only confused one day a week...some of us suffer 6 times a week.
I suppose Obama could sue Limbaugh for slander (or libel, I forget which), but it's probably not worth the time. I think what's sadder than having lies protected by the First Amendment is that lies go unpunished by the Fourth Estate.
For Obama to do such a thing, he would have to prove malintent I think (it's slander, I think libel is if it's in print). Aside from that, Obama is a public figure, and hence, he has a target on him for such things, as do most, or all public figures. Suing someone in this case would be a useless waste of time, and money.
Since Obama is clearly a public figure, he would have to prove malice or reckless disregard of the truth.
Further, he would have to claim that he was damaged in some way, a task that would be sure to tick some folks off.
While it isn't right, Rush knows he can get away with it.
Plus it might be a tad impolitic, in that it puts the public argumant not on the lie, but on the whole issue of free speech. Wouldn't look good for a former constitutional law prof to be psinted as seeking to abrogate someone's constitutional rights.
"argument" "painted" :-p
(it's slander, I think libel is if it's in print).
I just remember that "libel" is in print because it starts out just like "Liberry", that building with all the books.
Well.....I think the first amendment applies to standing on the corner and preaching. Rush's use of the PUBLIC airwaves, I think, is a different animal entirely. I don't think it's protected in the same way. In fact, I bet the case could be made that it's commercial speech.
If Obama was an Arab then Limbaugh would claim he was black. You can't win and it is a stupid concern.
Yet another rallying call for bigots from a useless, lying drug addict.
According to Wikipedia, the religious composition of Kenya is:
Protestant - 45%
Roman Catholic - 25%
Islam - 10%
Sounds more African than Arab to me...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenya
That's religious composition though, and you know, as well as I do, that religion does not equate to ethnicity. I found that there are less than 1% Arabs, and other ethnic groups in Kenya (see my post below).
I know, but I think the unstated subtext of Limbaugh's remarks is that Obama is Muslim...Arab, therefore Muslim. As pointed ot, though, Kenya has a very small Muslim population...and an even smaller Arab population. Whichever way you cut it, Limbaugh was blowing smoke out his fat behind as he usually does.
Joe Lieberman? Jewish? Nonsense!
He's from the ARAB part of the Middle East!
I hear NBC is giving Limbaugh his own TV show on Sunday mornings. It's going to be called "Meet the Putz".
He meant like no culture, as in Iraq being the cradle of civilization? Like that kind of "no" culture?
My point exactly.
I guess Limbaugh will take back his "black man-child" comment about Obama since Obama is now an Arab.
Why is everyone's font bold?
Never mind.
To tman418,
At least it isn't Zapfino or Bauhaus 93.
More cannot, and should not be expected from the drug-addled mind of Rush Limbaugh. At his best, he can barely manage to be coherent.
So, let me get this straight Rush. The man's father is from, of all places, Africa, Kenya to be exact. Obama's mother, is, from all places, America. Wouldn't that make him 100% African American? And when you look at him, do you SEE someone of Arab origin, or do you see someone of African American origin, or what you would think is African American origin, in other words, someone black?
Let us consult the CIA factbook Rush:
"Kikuyu 22%, Luhya 14%, Luo 13%, Kalenjin 12%, Kamba 11%, Kisii 6%, Meru 6%, other African 15%, non-African (Asian, European, and Arab) 1%"
The above represents the ethnic makeup of Kenya, the country that Obama's father was from. Do you see the 1% of "non-African" ethnicity there? Are you suggesting that because Obama's father was a Muslim, that he was of Arab origin? Have you ever seen a picture of Obama's father? He looks like an African man to me. Does this also mean that since his father changed over to Christianity that all of a sudden he was a central European man after that?
Rush, you're an idiot. I mean, we all know that, but at least next time, bring some facts to the table to argue with. Chances are pretty much slim and none that Obama's father was Arab, not that this is a bad thing, but we know what you're trying to do. You're trying to paint Obama as some radical Arab Muslim, and a danger to this country. It won't be long before you yell the "n" word at him in the near future no doubt about it.
Grow a brain please.
https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/ke.html
FLUSH LIMBAUGH continues to prove every day what a PATHETIC excuse for a human being he really is.
What a babbling idiot Limbaugh is.
Nothing is working, not the stuff he and the other wingnuts are tossing at Limbaugh or the meds he's on now.
Just watch--by Wednesday, he's either going to say that he was saying this as a joke, or that his remarks were taken out of context, or both.
This is by far in the top 10 of this idiot's racist, ignorant rantings. Why is he relevant? Why should he matter? Why doesn't legitimate media expose this overblown, over- exposed ignoramus?
Oh wait, maybe because they don't want to alienate his tow-headed, slack-jawed, drooling audience. He feeds and reinforces their stupidity, and they eat it up like pigs in slop. And corporate media is yet another example of corrupt, greedy and culpable media. They welcome him rather than denounce him to their own peril.
Let's try it again.

http://www.barackobama.net/pictures/barack-obama-father-2.jpg
What this guy said about being Arab, was just an excuse to say African-American... I'm looking at the summary to the item right now (the item itself not appearing to me, in this new comment format), and the term African-American appears three times in that summary (and the term Africa twice by itself), all of it spoken by this limbaugh guy...
Again, the Arab thing was just an excuse, to say African-American over and over.
I bet you think that sounds strange, as though I'm wrong: as though it was the Arab thing the guy really meant to IMPRESS UPON YOU...
I assure you it was not (I know this type of animal), it was the other term, repeated over and over, that was meant to be IMPRESSED UPON this limbaugh guy's AUDIENCE.
Sound strange? It's the truth.
[And I didn't listen to the audio clip that accompanies the item, and I won't: but, did the guy's voice have any of the "put-on" in it, when he said Arab? Did his Arab claim have at all the sound of "tongue in cheeck"? I wouldn't be surprised... as I said, the whole point of limbaugh's words in this instance, had nothing to do with making any strange IMPRESSION ON YOU that anybody is an Arab, and was meant to IMRESS UPON YOU and the guy's AUDIENCE, the other thing he said, repeatedly.]
As an afterthought, it seems also to me that in making the preposterous claim that Sen. Obama is not an African-American, this limbaugh guy is at the same time getting you to answer back that he is... thereby making for a chant of sorts, all around the repeated term African-American... that's the IMPRESSION that's intended... that's the "hook" here.
Again, the Arab thing was just an excuse, to say African-American over and over.
I entirely agree with that. However, it works on another level, too. By saying that Obama is really an Arab, there is also a subtle suggestion that he's Muslim, too. Or, at least, it reinforces or revives, the earlier smears that Obama is a Muslim...who is sympathetic to terrorists.
I think that his words are taken a bit out of context. what he probably meant is that though obama is not arabian, his african part is from arabian parts of Africa, so he is not "african American" like other blacks who have been living here are.
Limbaugh needs to express himself more clearly in this case.
"Limbaugh needs to express himself more clearly in this case."
Better yet, Limbaugh needs to shut his stinking, bigoted pie hole when it comes to race and color. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to bring Obama's ethnic background into the political debate unless the goal is to gin up racial hatred.
Hence, Finfarin's attraction to it.
Haha-
It's too bad you didn't realize that MMFA just posted this to yank PHILIB's chain! Gotcha!!
...and that was a reply to the 3rd comment in the thread. Don't know how that got lost there.
Admitting my laziness...does anyone have links to info for either or both sides of this contention?
What little poking around that I've done doesn't produce much one way or the other. The "arab-american" supporters make claims they say are based on Kenyan census records and genealogy...but I haven't seen the documentation.
The "african-american" supporters, like mmfa, don't provide any documentation to support their claim that the "arab-american" claims are false...they just claim it to be untrue.
Reading anecdotal info or rehashing second and third hand accounts doesn't do much to resolve this one way or the other.
"does anyone have links to info for either or both sides of this contention?"
Nope. Because it doesn't matter. He lives his life as a black American. He is running as a black American. People who are racist against blacks hate him because he is a black American. He self-identifies as a black American.
He IS a black American.
WHO CARES? Obama is an American, born in America, educated in America, working in America, a member of the American government.
But, let me answer my own question: Anyone concerned with Obama's heritage to even bring it up obviously considers it an important factor regarding his likely performance as president. This, by definition, is prejudice. Limpaugh is prejudiced, and he's offering red meat to his prejudiced and racist minions. They're the only ones who care.
Both sides to this contention?
Sorry Wes, but there is only one side. This is another non-issue, framed by a right wing troublemaker.
How has Senator Obama been perceived his entire life? If you knew nothing about him and you saw him would you immediately think "he's an arab" or even "he might be an Arab"?
Of course you wouldn't.
king,
You're jumping to the conclusion that I have some evil motive or judgement to confirm about this topic...but I don't. My motive is simply one of curiousity.
I prefer to make decisions based on how a person acts rather than how they look. Having said that...let me tweak your "how has obama been perceived" comment to more importantly read "how has obama acted"...as the real qualifier.
king, I'll tell you this...if an Arab was running for president and had real conservative beliefs...he would sure as heck get my vote before McCain.
I'll agree that this is a non-issue in regards to this point...because neither side has put up much but blather...your post being excepted.
Your laziness extends beyond your unwillingness to do research. You are too intellectually lazy to see that the real issue brought forth by Limbaugh and the other right-wing professional liars is not the truth behind Obama's ethnicity, but simply his ethnicity. They like to disguise it as truth squadding and performing some kind of valuable service to inform the voters. But the bottom line is Limbaugh and his imitators want nothing more than to stir up racial bigotry amongst white three-G's Americans.
pete, neon, doggone
Pardon me while I read what I choose to read. I expected the stupid responses...with no answer to my question...and right on cue...enter the minions.
You've got empty hands in this game...so don't bother with anymore useless diatribes about what I believe or don't believe.
"Pardon me while I read what I choose to read"
No problem. Just don't expect US to provide it to you. You get to have the fun - all to yourself - of finding what you "choose" to read.
I made no assertions about what you believe, only about what you can't see, or choose not to see, right in front of your face.
I've always wondered what planet Limbaugh came from. Clearly, he is not justified in hyphenating his origin with Amereican.
"I expected the stupid responses"
In other words, you're trolling.
Take this along with conservatives attempting to blame "minorites" defaulting on their loans and the democratic congress for forcing(sic)banks to loan the money(sic)and you see how serious this racist talk is. Fascism will come not from outside this nation but from within bearing a cross draped with the flag. Listen to the hate being spewed at the Republican convention , country first, USA!USA!USA! Drill baby Drill, mindless sloganering, and you know what he's a community organizer and not like us! In times of crisis people search for answers and the history of this country has always used foreigners and people of color as scapegoats for the countries ills, this truth is burned into the very soul of us. We share this common history. Can anyone rationally argue that if Barack Obama were "white"he would not be up in the polls by 20%. The lies and gaffes alone that McCain has made if made by Obama would have derailed his campaign , let alone talk of McCains trickle down economics(sic)that have proven only that the rich get richer and the rest of us get left holding the bag of ...-----"You Feel Me? That some people still think this is "funny" or "innocent" and or legitmate speaks to how deep this goes. The conservatives have used race to divide those of the same class from fighting for their common interest and they are trying it again, with consequences that will be devasting to not only the future of our nation but to the existence of mankind itself. Fight the power!
Obviously, Ole BlunderRush is wildly out of line on this one. I agree with those suggestions that he is trying to make Sen. Obama an "Arab" and therefore a "Muslim."
As a side note, however, the essence of Affirmative Action is self-identification. You are the race you say you are (of course, in the real world you are the race other people think you are - Sen. Obama is Black, for among other reasons, folks have treated him that way).
The R&B great Johnny Otis was, by birth, Greek. At a relatively early age he decided that he should be Black - ergo, he was.
Bottom Line: If Sen. Obama says he's Black, he's Black.
Because I absolutely hate the idea of a woman having a baby. I was absolutely disgusted when I found out my sister was having a baby. </heavy sarcasm>
Not for nothing, but who does he think he's fooling?
