Limbaugh: Ahmadinejad "echoing Barack Obama talking points"

SUMMARY: On Fox News, Rush Limbaugh claimed that in a U.N. speech, Iran's President Ahmadinejad was "echoing [Sen.] Barack Obama talking points -- talking about how America is responsible for all the problems of the world, talking about how American defense spending is -- led to the crisis here." Limbaugh provided no evidence that Obama has said anything remotely similar to Ahmadinejad's remarks, which, according to a translation, included references to "Zionist murderers" and to the purported influence of "Zionists" on the "political decision-making centers of some European countries and the U.S."
On the September 23 edition of Fox News' America's Election HQ, syndicated radio host Rush Limbaugh claimed that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, in his speech that day to the United Nations General Assembly, was "echoing [Sen.] Barack Obama talking points -- talking about how America is responsible for all the problems of the world, talking about how American defense spending is -- led to the crisis here." Limbaugh provided no evidence that Obama has said anything remotely similar to Ahmadinejad's remarks, which, according to a translation, included references to "Zionist murderers" and to the purported influence of "Zionists" on the "political decision-making centers of some European countries and the U.S."

MARTHA MacCALLUM [anchor]: Right -- well, you know, it is still an extremely tight race. So, you could understand an argument from Barack Obama's folks where they would say, "Look, we're quite happy with Joe Biden. Things seem to be going pretty well. We've got a very tight race here."
Where else but on FOX News (or his own show) could Rush Limbaugh say something like this and it goes unchallenged? And I have an image of millions of FOX News zombie viewers nodding their heads in collective agreement as Rush spoke. This race isn't about ideology anymore...it's about the sane versus the insane.
Republicans would rather win an election than fix this country's problems. It's all about power and money - their power, our money.

THose are Obama's talking points? I've never heard him say any of those things. Although certainly defense spending under Bush has crippled the federal budget for decades to come.

So Rush Limpballs goes on FoxNoise and makes the claim that Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is repeating Obama's talking points and vise-a-verse......
1) I know it is not true!
2) Even if it were...... SO WHAT?? I can speak all the rightwing talking points as well asd Rush can..... I won't believe any of them.... but I could do it.... would that mean that I am in full agreement with the rightwing ideology? Of course not!
3) I could make the claim that some minor issues that Charles Manson spoke of, I actually believe as well.....I'm digusted by his use of brainwashing and the end result of it, as he did to those he was able to influence, does that mean I'm as evil as him? Of course not!

This just in - Kim jong-il echos Rusty/Rush/Jeff Christie/Limbaugh. In fact they (all four of them) are rumored to be long lost brothers. Except for Rush's extremely bulbous and gravity challenged rear end, the resemblance is uncanny.

I hate to say it, but if Ahmadinejad is saying that Bush's defense spending has led to the economic crisis here in America, then I would have to agree. If that is what Obama is saying then I would agree with him. Bottom line is that the country is falling apart because of Bush & Co and people like Rush are still playing politics. :(
However, I think Sarah certainly will be four more years of Cheney - that's why I love her!!!!!!!

Wow! Someone who sees Op.Chaos the way I do. I remember when I heard the radio right wingers talking and laughing about the "cross-ever voting" I knew, just knew, it would backfire. I remember thinking "You guys have just game played the first Black president into office." They were sooooooo sure if they just got Hillary out of the way, they could easily beat Obama. And look at how it has turned out. The Repugs may actually lose the White House to someone they thought would be a "slam dunk" to beat. Wait...where have I heard the phrase "slam dunk" used before??

I have never been able to understand how otherwise intelligent people idolized this guy. I listened to him because although his often repeated lies were infuriating, I found him entertaining.
Then it dawned on me what his appeal was. Rush Limbaugh is P.T. Barnum. People actually pay to have his "private e-mail" They also pay for a number of things on his website, in order to be close to and/or associated with him. Oh well, 'there is one born every minute.'
He knows it, and people in the media know it. However, his simple minded ditto heads have been exploited by the worse kind of political operatives (i.e. Karl Rove). The scary part of this whole equation is that people like Rove, give him credence, which in turn, give Limbaugh and his like more power.
