SUMMARY: In its list of "Must-Reads," ABCNews.com's The Note included a Washington Times "commentary" from W.F. Walker Johanson, in which he wrote that Sen. On October 22, ABCNews.com's political newsletter, The Note, included in its daily list of "Must-Reads" an October 22 "commentary" in The Washington Times by W.F. Walker Johanson, in which Johanson wrote that Sen. Barack Obama is a "true wolf in sheep's clothing." Johanson wrote: "On the outside, he's nice, pleasant, handsome, well-spoken, has cute little kids, dresses well, looks like someone we would all like to know. But underneath, he resembles an anti-American Marxist who believes the following." Johanson then made a series of inflammatory statements that he claimed were Obama's beliefs, including that "[m]urdering innocent babies -- through abortion -- is an inalienable 'right.' " Johanson added: "(I think Adolf Hitler supported this same position.)" Johanson also claimed that Obama "believes" that "[t]he United Nations is a better form of government than our own."

Johanson, whom the Times identified as a "managing partner of the Northumberland Group in Washington, D.C., and an expert on marketing strategy," wrote that Obama also "believes" that " '[g]lobal warming' is a bigger threat than crime, drugs, pornography, unwed mothers and immorality at all levels" and that "[w]e torture our prisoners of war but our enemies don't." Johanson added: "(We don't torture our prisoners, unless you consider playing profanity-laced rap music really loud to be torture; and making enemy combatants wear underwear on their heads is merely how some college-age frat boys normally behave.)" Johanson also wrote that Obama "believes" that "[a]ppeasement to our enemies is a winnable foreign policy" and "[s]urrender -- ever -- is in our best interests." In addition, Johanson wrote that Obama "believes" that "Jesus was a 'community organizer' (like Mr. Obama), and that Pontius Pilate was a 'governor' (like Mrs. Palin)." He added: "(When we all know that Jesus is God and Pilate was a dictator-appointed governor from Rome, not an elected official.)"

From Johanson's October 22 "commentary":

On the one hand, Barack Obama is a true wolf in sheep's clothing. On the outside, he's nice, pleasant, handsome, well-spoken, has cute little kids, dresses well, looks like someone we would all like to know. But underneath, he resembles an anti-American Marxist who believes the following:

[...]

-- Murdering innocent babies - through abortion - is an inalienable "right." (I think Adolf Hitler supported this same position.)

[...]

-- "Global warming" is a bigger threat than crime, drugs, pornography, unwed mothers and immorality at all levels.

[...]

-- We torture our prisoners of war but our enemies don't. (We don't torture our prisoners, unless you consider playing profanity-laced rap music really loud to be torture; and making enemy combatants wear underwear on their heads is merely how some college-age frat boys normally behave.)

-- The United Nations is a better form of government than our own. (And we should even care what the opinions are among the 75 percent of U.N. member-countries who do not have democratically-elected governments ... and are smaller than some of our national parks.)

[...]

-- Appeasement to our enemies is a winnable foreign policy.

-- Surrender - ever - is in our best interests.

[...]

-- Jesus was a "community organizer" (like Mr. Obama), and that Pontius Pilate was a "governor" (like Mrs. Palin). (When we all know that Jesus is God and Pilate was a dictator-appointed governor from Rome, not an elected official.)

So free speech applies only to people who toe your party line I guess?  How long before a democraticly controlled congress, senate and presidency amends the first amendment, Tovarich?

Until you start applying the same measure and self-righteousness to the KOS, Huff'n'puff Post, MMFA, and the rest of the ranting liberals in media and the blogsphere, you're just another hypocrite, filled with a sense of yourself being far greater than you are.

WTF?!?!  Johanson spreads LIES!  ABC printed the LIES!  You can say whatever you want, Missdenial, but if it's FALSE, it should be called out.  And, btw, any *reporter* worth their salt would know all the GARBAGE Johanson spewed was LIES!  He is not a reporter, he's a repeater, of lies, smears, xenophobia, and so on.  Get a friggin' grip, Missesthepoint!

So free speech includes racist statements, lies and death threats? Clean up your own house before you start dictating to liberals. Hypocrite, heal thyself!

I'm just absolutely convinced that MissDee was at the forefront of protesting the right-wing's treatment of Ward Churchill, the Dixie Chicks, Cindy Sheehan, Michael Moore, Al Franken, Bill Maher, Reverend Wright, etc.  Really, these are just people who were exercising their free speech, and she stood out from the crowd as opposing the venom that was aimed at them for it.

            Can't you just picture it?

Wrong. Hitler did not support abortion.

October 26, 1936: the Reich's "Central Office to Combat Homosexuality and Abortion" is established.

Adolf, like republicans, sure don't mind euthanasia though, as long as the victim is a declared "enemy of their state"...

"You liberal idiots. Dumb s**ts. Welfare bums. You guys just f&*king come to our country, consume every natural resource there is, and make a lot of babies. That's all you guys do. And then suck up the welfare and expect everyone else to pay for your hospital bills for your kids. I just say let your kids die. That's the best move. Just let your children die. Forget about paying for hospital bills for them. I'm not gonna do it. You guys are lowlifes. And I hope you all die."

            Wow.

I know the quote you mention above, Snoopy, came from an answering machine at an Obama campaign office (or some place like that).  This nastiness coming from the right isn't surprising.  However, I've not seen in print such a disgusting display of anti-Americanism and hate for your (this person's) fellow man.

            How 'Christian' of this person...

-- "Global warming" is a bigger threat than crime, drugs, pornography, unwed mothers and immorality at all levels.

It's very damaging in the long run, yes. However, just because Obama thinks we should try to stop it, what proof do you have that he think Global Warming is worse than all of those other problems? He sure is talking about the economy alot. Oh, and why are you attacking unwed mothers? Pretty sexist and elitist to me.

      [...]

-- We torture our prisoners of war but our enemies don't. (We don't torture our prisoners, unless you consider playing profanity-laced rap music really loud to be torture; and making enemy combatants wear underwear on their heads is merely how some college-age frat boys normally behave.)

Don't forget sexually abusing and harassing them, water-boarding, forced uncomfortable positions, sleep deprivation, bright lights, etc. Colin Powell didn't approve this and many experts say it's not producing results. Oh by the way, when did Obama say that our enemies treat our soldiers well? Again, you have no references

-- The United Nations is a better form of government than our own. (And we should even care what the opinions are among the 75 percent of U.N. member-countries who do not have democratically-elected governments ... and are smaller than some of our national parks.)

The UN is NOT a Global Government and was never meant to be one. Again, when did Obama say this? However, there is nothing wrong with letting Americans serve in their peace-keeping forces and working with them to help get things done. No one, including Obama, said anything about kowtowing to them.

      [...]

-- Appeasement to our enemies is a winnable foreign policy.

I'm sure by "appeasement" you mean "talking" or "trying to ease tensions". Well, John McCain won't talk. He'll SING to them! "Bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb Iran" and send them cigarettes! Support our tobacco industry!

-- Surrender - ever - is in our best interests.

If by "surrender" you mean "pulling us out of an unnecessary quagmire that is costing us so much money that we never should have gone into in the first place so we can concentrate our resources where we should in fighting the Taliban and al-Qaeda", then yeah, it is in our best interest. Oh, and what do you mean by "ever"?

      [...]

-- Jesus was a "community organizer" (like Mr. Obama), and that Pontius Pilate was a "governor" (like Mrs. Palin). (When we all know that Jesus is God and Pilate was a dictator-appointed governor from Rome, not an elected official.)

The only difference is that Obama will outdo the governor when she attempts to crucify him on November 4th.

Again, WDOST (Where did Obama say this?)

This isn't just some columnist spewing lies and inflammatory statements but a national, creditable tv network is lending the statements credibility by putting it on a must read listingo.  Is there no conscience left in the media.  There are plenty of reliable sources to check the facts these days.

Since this was a "Must Read", I read it.  A major network suggested it and it was printed, not in some obscure little rag, but the Washington Times.  And some of you ask why I drink.

The McCain campaign has forced me into alcoholism.

I pray Obama wins, so I can begin my classes at AA and start on the road to recovery.

I said I was a drunk, not an alcoholic.  I don't go to meetings.  I am a recovering sober person.  Some people need a reason to drink.  I certainly have mine, thanks to Media Matters and the Huffington Post.

You may go too far fro my tatses... I'll concede the exsistance of both Jesus and God (for the sake of argument)... But any connection between the two is purely a man-made idea, with no more inherent merit that the divinity of Muhmmad or Sidarth Guatauma.  (Neither of which I believe either.)

This is def not KNOWN.  If you belive it, then you are a Christian.  If you believe it to be known then you are a religious whack-job.

Hard to believe that someone so consumed with anger and misinformation can sleep at night.  Well, maybe that's the explanation.  People who are chronically sleep-deprived do tend to go off the rails.
