Dick Morris now says he "work[ed] with" National Republican Trust PAC during election
SUMMARY: In an email to his mailing list, Dick Morris encouraged supporters to help "defeat Obama's stimulus package" in part by donating at GOPTrust.com, the website of the National Republican Trust PAC, writing: "As I did during the election, I am working with the National Republican Trust to do what I can to stop this package from passing." But following questions raised by Media Matters for America about the nature of his relationship with the group, Morris had said in the fall that "all they've done is buy ads on my website, like they buy ads in The New York Times," and insisted that "I'm no more in cahoots with them than The New York Times is."
In a February 3 email to his mailing list, Dick Morris encouraged supporters to help "defeat Obama's stimulus package" in part by donating at GOPTrust.com, the website of the National Republican Trust PAC. In his email, which is also posted on his website, Morris wrote: "As I did during the election, I am working with the National Republican Trust to do what I can to stop this package from passing." But following questions raised by Media Matters for America regarding Morris' financial relationship with the group, in a November 24, 2008, appearance on Fox News' Hannity & Colmes, Morris had said that "some of the liberals have lashed back at me, claiming that somehow I'm getting paid by this group, but the fact is that all they've done is buy ads on my website, like they buy ads in The New York Times." Morris insisted, "I'm no more in cahoots with them than The New York Times is."
From Morris' February 3 email:
As you have probably gathered from my past few columns, I am very critical of the stimulus package proposed by the president. I believe it won't do much to stimulate the economy since consumers will use the checks to pay bills and pay down debts and businesspeople will invest it waiting for better times.

As I did during the election, I am working with the National Republican Trust to do what I can to stop this package from passing. They will be running ads in key states to build sentiment against it to convert conservative Democrats and stiffen the spine of the Republicans in the Senate. Please help by contributing at GOPTrust.com. If we can modify or defeat this package it will save all of us a great deal of pain and suffering down the road.
As Media Matters documented, between October 27, 2008, and November 17, 2008, Morris mentioned GOPTrust.com during at least 13 Fox News appearances and asked viewers to "give funds to GOPTrust.com." During that period, Morris also promoted GOPTrust.com in his Creators Syndicate column and columns published in or by the New York Post, The Hill, Newsmax.com, and his personal website, DickMorris.com. But in none of those instances did Morris disclose that the group has paid him thousands of dollars to run its ads. (In some cases, reprints of Morris' columns did appear in his email newsletter along with embedded ads marked as paid for by the National Republican Trust PAC.) A Media Matters analysis of available records filed with the Federal Election Commission found that GOPTrust.com had paid Triangulation Strategies, a firm apparently affiliated with Morris, at least $24,000 between October 10, 2008, and November 19, 2008, mostly for "Email Communication." Triangulation Strategies received additional payments from GOPTrust.com of $1,500 each on November 20, 2008, and November 25, 2008.

Uh, excuse me. Did NOT an election take place in which Barack Obama was ELECTED to do the things he is trying to do? The people have spoken. We did NOT elect the Republican Party to solve our problems. (Fat chance!) The likes of Dickey Moron and Limbaugh, the Spokesman for the Republicans, seem to forget that WE selected the person and his agenda to be our representatives and to guide us through this financial mess. NOT THEM! So who is "un-american" now?
I love the way he pretends to be concerned for the future. Hey, Dick, the future voted for Obama and against McCain by a margin of 10 to 1.
On the edge of OT (but you did mention Limbaugh in passing, so...), have you noticed that he often tends now not to refer to the how the loonie thinking of Lefters, Leftwingers, Liberals, etc. are going to see the disaster they cause, but to "the American People" as a whole as doomed to reep the error of their thinking. The Rusho splinter "us" and "the rest of 'em. is more overt than evert, expanding from muddy lables slung at a political party to making it clear that "the American People" are idiots. Nothing new, of course, but just more open about it. Seems a bit risky. Ya gotta love it.
Taken out of context.
;)
So Dick Morris lied about his relationship to GOPTrust.com. Lying comes naturally for Dick Morris...it's like breathing to him. Why do you suppose he's a regular on FOX? This is a bizarre world in which we live...where a despicable liar like Dick Morris has almost daily access to the public's ear, is well paid for it, and some people actually believe the things he says.
Dick also realizes that he has no credibility outside of the Fox bubble. He can just admit the recent lie as he moves on to the next one, knowing there will be no repercussions from the zombies who still consider him a serious commentator.
That, colonel, is profound. Bill and Hillary were faster than others in moving out of the zombie realm...but a few are still there.
Did the Republican Trust PAC give him money so he could get a hooker whose toes he could suck?

So MMFA staffers are subscribing to Dick Morris's newsletters?
Umm, yeah, they probably are. What's your point?
I can say one thing about Morris...
PWNED.
Are you crazy?
How else can MMFA stay up on all of the lies told by the reich-wing if they don't use all of the tools available? Tools such as websites, blogs, newspapers, news sites, TV & Radio??
Or, did you think they found all of the lies told by your heroes (such as morris), by osmosis?
An aside...Today The Unrepentant Adjectivist Hannity was ranting about Obama being a Chicago politician, that SissyBoy favorite, the messiah and a liar. Immediately he announced that Dick Morris will be his guest. That is funny.
Someone please send Hannity a calendar and point out that we are now three months past November 4, 2008. But speaking of Chicago politicians, the good thing you can say about Chicago and the State of Illinois is that they actually put corrupt people in jail. Obama cut his teeth on Chicago politics and no one has laid a glove on him. Maybe, just maybe, he's an honest guy. Don't we have some kind of presumption of innocence when you're actually charged with a crime. Obama has never been charged with anything and yet Hannity has him guilty of who knows what. It's getting kind of old, Sean...maybe a celebrity will die under sordid circumstances and you can move on to more important things such as that.
Over the several years I've been enduring morris' hypocritical rants, I've come to the conclusion that he is totally incapable of telling the truth. It would be sad if his lies were only pathological, but no. It's so obvious that morris is a mean-spirited, hate mongering, partisan.
Why anyone would read his columns, or listen to him (on purpose), is mind-boggling to me. Every time morris opens his lisping yap, nothing truthful EVER comes out.
The fact he is now caught in another lie doesn't surprise me at all. I'm not alone in this, am I?
No you are not alone, you summed it up perfectly with the words hypocritical, pathological, mean-spirited and hate mongering. I'm not so sure about partisan - I think Morris has no soul, and he would pretty much do anything for whichever side paid him and pretended he was human. So I would add toe licking prostitute.
"I'm no more in cahoots with them than The New York Times is."
From the horse's mouth. I guess the Times is in on it too.
