Maybe they are thinking that if a public health care plan is put into action that so many people will rush to sign onto it, even leaving private health insurance companies, that the private companies will lose so much that they will HAVE to shut down? So those people who still want to keep the health coverage they had before will be unable to because the companies won't be there for long? And thus, that would force those who were happy with their health care before to go onto the public plan?

I don't know. I'm just trying to make some type of sense out of what his basis is for saying that we won't be able to keep our private insurance if this bill is enacted.

Then again...he doesn't seem to really have a basis for anything, at least not seated in any truth I can see, if he is purposely taking practically everything President Obama says out of context in order to discredit him, and whatnot.

Who knows? I don't profess to know anything about how insurance companies work, and really I'm not at all worried about them. I currently can't afford insurance, so I don't have a company that I already use that I want to keep.

And, really, I don't know anybody else who likes the insurance they have, anyway.

Anyway, I can't see the downside to the kind of coverage you would get with a public plan as opposed to a private company.

But, what do I know...?
