Fox News' left-wing conspiracy chart fetish

September 22, 2009 4:28 pm ET — 27 Comments

Glenn Beck unveiled yet another liberal conspiracy chart during the September 21 edition of his Fox News program, purporting to connect George Soros, the Tides Foundation, Health Care for America Now, the Apollo Alliance, ACORN, and SEIU. In light of Beck's growing obsession with conspiracy charts, Media Matters for America has rounded up highlights of Fox News' liberal conspiracy charts.

There's a story there. One that credible to most rational people. To the media: Either denounce it with cold hard facts or jump on it yourselves and get to the truth so we all benefit. We used to have real news, now it's the 20 year olds who do all the real work to find the truth....and the media never even rolls to the other butt cheak in their big leather chairs. Which ever media group finally figures out how to do news again, will rule the media.

      This is a hoot!

      Paranoia 101.

He's like some deranged football coach trying to come up with a last minute Hail Mary pass.

Hey dipstick, you wanna see where the really big bucks are? Do a right-wing flow chart. I know you haven't got the balls for that one, though.

I really want someone to make a "Beck Chalk Board" of the connections that Fox News has with other conservative groups, publications, and, of course, the republican party.... I'd Love to see Beck respond to that.

You would need a chalk board the size of the Cowboys new video screen to fit everything onto it.

Boy, Republicans sure do love coming up with conspiracies about wealthy Jews trying to destroy the country.

But at least they're not working to provide Americans with affordable health insurance, because that's just like what Hitler did!

People used to make fun of Ross Perot for his charts, but at least his charts made sense... Beck's are just crazy!

Didn't the mathematician John Nash (from A Beautiful Mind) go crazy and draw insane connective displays like these?

Glenn Beck doesn't have the Beautiful Mind part, just the crazy part.

Sort of like being Rain Man without the savant part, or looking like Larry Bird without having the basketball skills.

Naw, he was a paranoid schizophrenic and had "issues" coping at several times in his life but; there is correlation:

Nash seemed to believe that there was an organization chasing him, in which all men wore "red ties".

I think that was Glenn Beck on drugs.

Glenn has been gathering facts. Some of what he has said is conjecture and some is true but if you want to discredit him you will have to provide the facts. This “article” is nothing more than “look at that right wing nut now” but provides no information to combat his arguments.
If he is wrong please provide the information.

It speaks volumes that the Fox News audience needs pictures to keep interested. But then again the conspiracies they cook up are so convoluted that one needs a cheesy chart just to follow along.

It is stunning that these people who hate science and stats and charts are now trying to use it. Why do you even bother using charts? just ask Jesus: Obama=Soros=Acorn=Nazi=Muslim=Fascist=Van Jones=Rev Wright=Terrorist=Socialist=...

You know if Fix News has a compulsion with charts connecting one thing with another, why don't they go back to everything surrounding the attacks of 9/11. Does anyone here know that there is a link between Bush 1 and Bush 2 and Osama Bin Laden? Why doesn't Fix look into that? There are literally hundreds of charts to be made about the whole 9/11 era.

I used to do this with my friends in middle school - we would pick 2 actors/actresses and see if we can somehow connect them through the movies or relationships that they were in. You can connect anyone in history to anyone else in history if you really do your facts. Its amazing that beck is just figuring this out now. How old is he again?
