Palin blackballed CBS

November 14, 2009 5:26 pm ET — 15 Comments

In her memoir, amidst a long anecdote about the media's trip to Alaska to interview Palin after she announced her resignation as governor, Palin slips in the following tidbit: "We issued an open invitation for the press (except for CBS)." (Page 380)

Why was CBS banned? Palin doesn't say. Could it have something to do with the poor reception of Palin's enormous flop-of-an-interview with Katie Couric? Palin certainly remains unhappy with that interview - on Page 275, she says Couric's "purpose" had been "to frame a 'gotcha' moment."

I seem to recall that a few weeks ago, when the White House (accurately) said that Fox News is "not a news organization," the right-wing and mainstream media both flipped out. Everyone suddenly seemed to forget that conservatives spent years attacking media outlets based on groundless complaints of bias. Those attacks have included boycotts or threatened boycotts of media outlets, efforts to revoke journalists' credentials or ban them from press planes, and even calls to have journalists prosecuted. And the right-wing media was cheering them along the entire way.

Well, now everyone has another chance. Here is a right-wing politician admitting flat-out that she banned a media outlet from covering her. Will the media band together around CBS and defend one of their "sister organizations"?

I won't hold my breath.

Sarah Palin's book is starting to turn into a real Tear-Jerker.
"The Grapes of Wrath" "Of Mice & Men" put these books down & pick up her Mental Berzerker.
If there is ever another Cuban Missile Crisis i want President Sarah Palin in that Chair.
With her hand on the Nuclear Button using catchy phrases like "You Betcha" Yea, that works for me a President that is intellectually Unaware.

      Speak truth to power.

I'd say it's because Sarah believes David Letterman is a reporter.

Does she really think she would sound like Marilyn Vos Savant on the other networks?

Will Matt Gertz grow a brain?

      I won't hold my breath.

Little Mattie never mentions Letterman here. The obtuseness of liberals is something to behold.

I find your non sequitirs fascinating.

        They're almost like haikus written by a hate-filled 8-year-old.

If we're lucky, maybe Palin will find a reason to ban all media outlets from covering her.

Then her stupidity will reach only those morons who check her Facebook page.
