It's problematic when lay people take scientific jargon and attempt to extrapolate it's meaning using colloquial speech. For example, many think the word theory is used the same scientifically , as it is in common, every day language.

"Published" scientific papers are many times treatises. They're usually postulating, not necessarily making a positive conclusion. I mean you have to be published to earn an advanced degree like a PhD. But that doesn't mean the work has been completed. It may just be of enough interest to forward it to a journal of some type.

Of course, regarding matters like climate change, commonly referred to as GW, the matter seems to be agreed upon by such a vast majority of the scientific community as to warrant a consensus.

And numbnuts on steroids like Wallace should refrain from rendering any conclusions of things they obviously don't understand. Well, save for their obvious attempts at propaganda, naturally.
