Robert Christie, the straight shooter and likeable Dow Jones media relations chief, is leaving the company to become the new top corporate communications person at The New York Times, according to Gawker.

Christie, who is considered by most on the media beat to be a fair and open guy, replaces Catherine Mathis, who left the Times last year for Standard & Poor's.
