Rush Sub Urbanski: “Conservatives Plan. Liberals Scheme.”

by Fae Jencks

Guest host Doug Urbanski started off today's show by criticizing the Republican Party for their “spineless” response to Rep. Barton's apology to BP. Urbanski defended Barton's apology to BP, saying it was “completely appropriate.” He also stated that “Rush was very accurate” in calling the BP hearings a Soviet-style public trial yesterday, and criticized President Obama as a “bully” for his role in ensuring that BP set up an escrow fund.

Urbanski then transitioned to criticism of the federal government's response to the oil spill, and suggested that it was evidence that “our government is too large to function.” Urbanski followed up on this claim by agreeing with Limbaugh that the government is “acting like a branch of organized crime,” and stating that we “would actually be better off with Tony Soprano.” Urbanski later returned to his criticism of the Obama administration, and claimed that they are using the oil spill to further their political agenda.

Urbanski also described a new populism that is emerging in America. He claimed that the government is “exploiting” everyday people just as corporations in the early 20th century exploited their workers. According to Urbanski, Democrats are assaulting “your money,” “health care,” “security,” and even “your future.” He consistently repeated the claim that “conservatives plan” while “liberals scheme,” and concluded his broadcast with a screed in which he claimed that while “conservatives believe in the sanctity of life,” “liberals believe in the sanctity of themselves.”
