The right-wing race-baiting revue: Schlessinger's rant is just the latest act
Dr. Laura Schlessinger's racially charged rant, in which she "articulated the 'n' word all the way out -- more than one time," is only the latest in a year of public displays of racially loaded rhetoric by right-wing media figures.
Dr. Laura's N-word rant rounds out a year of racially charged right-wing rhetoric
Schlessinger "articulated the 'n' word all the way out." On the August 10 edition of her radio show, Schlessinger repeatedly -- in her own words -- "articulated the 'n' word all the way out -- more than one time." Among other things, Schlessinger also told an African-American caller that she had a "chip on [her] shoulder." The full transcript of her remarks can be found here:
Beck suggested Obama doesn't believe all men are created equal. On his August 3 Fox News show, after claiming that President Obama "knows" that Arizona police "will act stupidly" and "be racist," Glenn Beck asked, "Does he believe that all men are created equal, endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights?"
Levin accused Obama administration, Sen. Menendez of "race-baiting." On the July 28 edition of his radio show, Mark Levin said, "Then there's Senator Bob Menendez, Democrat of New Jersey, a race-baiter. That's right, I said it. Write it down, and you'll hear it. I think these people who pander to specific ethnic groups are race-baiters. This administration is race-baiting":
Beck: "[R]acist" is "too small of a word" to describe "those in power." On July 26, Beck said that "I have learned a lot. We don't need to call people names. We don't have to. Their words are evidence enough. They cannot make the argument in the open. They know no man of any color would choose to be enslaved, so they have to lie, they have to cheat. I don't think that those in power and those who seek even more power are racists, as I have come to understand that 'racist' is too small of a word. I believe these people will enslave any man -- it doesn't matter what color they are":
Limbaugh called Obama "the most-racial president" During the July 22 edition of his radio show, Rush Limbaugh said, "So, we're supposed to have a post-racial president. Instead, Barack Obama is the most-racial president.":
Limbaugh accused Eric Holder, DOJ of racism. During the July 21 edition of his radio show, Limbaugh discussed the "amazing story of Shirley Sherrod," asking, "If we're going to fire Shirley Sherrod on the basis of racism, then why the hell does Eric Holder still have a job?" Limbaugh later falsely claimed that Holder "has ignored the voting and civil rights of white people in Philadelphia, all because the perpetrators of the voter intimidation, the New Black Panther Party, were black":
Monica Crowley: Sherrod may be among the "racists" in the Obama administration. Discussing Andrew Breitbart's truncated video of Sherrod on The O'Reilly Factor, Fox News contributor Monica Crowley suggested that Sherrod may be among the "radicals, racists, socialists" in the Obama administration:
Limbaugh said the "NAACP is as racist an organization as there has been and is in this country." On July 20, after calling the edited video promoted by Breitbart "great work," Limbaugh said the "NAACP is as racist an organization as there has been and is in this country":
Breitbart: Sherrod tapes show racism. On Hannity, Breitbart responded to criticism of his advancement of the deceptively edited Sherrod video by saying that the full video shows racism "far worse than anything that has ever been alleged against the tea party":
During initial response to bogus Sherrod story, Gingrich said Sherrod was "viciously racist." On Fox News Sunday, host Chris Wallace played video of Fox News contributor Newt Gingrich on Hannity saying, "I often disagree with this administration, but firing her after that kind of viciously racist attitude, was exactly the right thing to do":
Doocy: Sherrod's comments were "Exhibit A" of "what racism looks like." Fox & Friends co-host Steve Doocy said that Sherrod made "a speech to the NAACP that sure sounded racist." Later, after guest host Alisyn Camerota asserted that Sherrod's remarks are "outrageous, and perhaps everybody needs a refresher course on what racism looks like," Doocy responded that Sherrod's comments were "Exhibit A":
Gingrich: Holder "should certainly resign over the racism inherent in the Black Panther case." On the July 19 edition of Fox News' Hannity, Gingrich said that Holder "should certainly resign over the racism inherent in the Black Panther case":
Ingraham: Obama "channeled his best Jeremiah Wright accent" in NAACP speech. Talking about a speech Obama gave to the NAACP, O'Reilly Factor guest host Laura Ingraham said: "Last night, President Obama spoke to the NAACP and channeled his best Jeremiah Wright accent." After airing a clip of Obama's remarks, Ingraham added: "Now, why does the first African-American president feel the need to affect an accent that he clearly does not possess? Or is that the way people speak in Honolulu? It's a cheap attempt to pander to an audience that already supports him":
Savage: "[W]e wind up with Barack Obama as president because of white guilt." On the July 8 edition of his Talk Radio Network show, after quoting Booker T. Washington, Michael Savage said that "we wind up with Barack Obama as president because of white guilt":
Breitbart, Asman agreed Obama is "defending racism" in New Black Panthers case, which is "virtually the same" as being racist. On the July 6 edition of Fox Business Network's America's Nightly Scoreboard, Breitbart agreed with host David Asman, who stated that while it "may or may not be true" that Obama is a racist, "in letting the Black Panthers off," Obama "is defending racists," which is "virtually the same, in my mind, as to whether you're a racist or not":
Quinn: Members of the civil rights community are "race-baiting poverty pimps." During the July 6 broadcast of Clear Channel's The War Room with Quinn & Rose, Jim Quinn said he calls the "so-called civil rights community" "the race-baiting poverty pimps":
Limbaugh "speculate[d]" that Michelle Obama didn't attend Sen. Byrd's funeral because of her "authentic slave blood." On his July 2 show, while discussing Sen. Robert Byrd's funeral, Limbaugh said that "as has been said by several black civil rights leaders, Obama does not have authentic slave blood. But Michelle does, and maybe that's why" she didn't attend the funeral:
Discussing New Black Panthers case, Severin says Obama is "demonstrably a racist." During the June 30 edition of his WTKK radio show, Jay Severin discussed the New Black Panthers and claimed that "as long as Barack Obama is president, there is a complete double standard, and a lot of it is based on race" and that "Barack Obama is a racist." Severin added, "Barack Obama is -- the president of the United States is demonstrably a racist":
Beck distorted Obama's comments to accuse him of "racism." On the June 14 editions of his radio and television shows, Beck misrepresented comments Obama made during a 1995 interview to claim Obama did not want to meet with BP CEO Tony Hayward because he is a "white CEO" and that those comments were "code language" that "sounds like racism," "stereotyping," and "profiling":
Stossel said "private businesses ought to get to discriminate" and "it should be their right to be racist." On Fox News' America Live, Fox Business Network host John Stossel stated that "it's time now to repeal" the public accommodations sections of the Civil Rights Act. Stossel went on to say that "private businesses ought to get to discriminate" and that "it should be their right to be racist," adding that he personally would not go into a business that discriminated:
Carlson claimed Obama used "racial anxiety for political gain." On Special Report, Fox News contributor Tucker Carlson criticized Obama's midterm election message, in which Obama told supporters that it "will be up to each of you to make sure that the young people, African-Americans, Latinos, and women who powered our victory in 2008 stand together once again." After host Bret Baier played a clip of the video, Carlson said: "So, how's this different substantially from Nixon's Southern Strategy? What he's doing is, saying, 'You have reason to fear on racial grounds; therefore, vote for me.' I think he is using racial anxiety for political gain":
Limbaugh called Obama administration a "racist" "regime" During the April 26 edition of his radio show, Limbaugh discussed Arizona's controversial immigration law and claimed that "not everybody thinks that civil rights are the end-all and be-all of every single issue." Limbaugh then cited the video in which Obama discussed voter turnout, including among minorities and women, and said, "This is the regime at its racist best":
Savage said he's "sick of speaking about" Obama "in hushed tones" because "he's of mixed race." On March 22, Savage said, "I am so sick and tired of talking about [Obama] in hushed tones, like because he's of mixed-race, you can't say anything against him. I am sick of it":
Limbaugh: "For the first time in his life, Paterson is gonna be a massa." During a discussion with a caller on March 9 about African-American New York Gov. David Paterson possibly appointing a replacement for former Rep. Eric Massa, Limbaugh said, "So, for the first time in his life, Paterson's gonna be a massa. Interesting, interesting":
Limbaugh called civil rights leaders Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson "race hustlers." During the October 15, 2009, edition of his show, Limbaugh noted the fact that NFL Players Association director DeMaurice Smith had sent a letter to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell objecting to Limbaugh's bid to become a partial owner of the St. Louis Rams. Limbaugh then said, "And then, of course, the two race hustlers, the Reverend Jackson and the Reverend Sharpton, got involved":
Beck called Obama a "racist" with a "deep-seated hatred for white people." During his appearance on the July 28, 2009, edition of Fox News' Fox & Friends discussing Obama's response to the arrest of Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates, Beck asserted that Obama has "a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture." After being reminded that Obama has numerous white staffers, Beck contradicted himself, stating, "I'm not saying that he doesn't like white people. I'm saying he has a problem," before going on to state, "this guy is, I believe, a racist":

I Hate Fox News so much i'd want to Stomp on them even after they were Dead.
My Rage is so Extreme i wake up Soked with Sweat like i had wet the Bed.
I try to calm myself watching "Flintstones" but i find myself getting Mad at Fred.
Speak truth to power.
Mr. News
Do those people exist? Probably, sure. But absolutely do not let them speak for groups of individuals, for they cannot.
This kind of talk is coming primarily from the right. Take a good look and listen to each and every post of exact quotes and recordings above. This is the dialog that the conservative right is listening to and who have been putting race to the forefront since President Obama won the election.
The left is not doing this at the level that the right is. You cannot make up or change the facts. If conservatives absolutely do not represent racial hatred toward our President, you might want to take a good look at who is representing you to the public.
You said: The very fact that it even matters is unconscionable, the mere fact you think this suggests you need to take a hard look at your news and commentary sources.
This comment is laughable. The "commentary sources" fill this whole page and they are all quotes, videos and recordings of conservatives.
By creating this new definition, attacks like the loony "birther" conspiracy, talk radio hosts claiming President Obama is looking to enact "reparations", and that he has a deep seeded hatred of white people and white culture do not count as racism when these are clearly racist attacks.
That's why Rupert Murdoch and other billionaire elites with an extreme right wing ideology buy up and seek to control as much of the media narrative as they can. When the racists get to define what is racism, it becomes clear how people like diamonds can actually in august 2010 make the kind of post they made.
Limbaugh's Race Baiting 101
Ok conservatives, time to put up or shut up. This article here on MMFA lists several concrete examples of right wing divisiveness and race baiting. Bring out your examples of liberal media figures, or administration officials "race baiting" and "making this country more racially divided" through their policies or words.
Let's see them, don't be shy. Roll them out, we'll wait.
Isn't that at the heart of "FAIR & BALANCED" reporting?
A while back I heard a conservative on this board state that Fox is supposed to be the balance from the so called liberal media. So Fair and Balanced is your conservative choice where you will be safe from too much exposure to non-conservative views and ideas.
What that really means is that Fox is too lazy and partisan to be professional and actually give the wide range of views and interpretations on a wide range of issues. They use the liberal media as a canard to justify their lack of integrity. I really doubt they are capable of identifying a liberal bias when daily they show that they can't identify or describe liberal ideas and policy.
If their thing is that they are some kind of elixir to the rest of the media, then why isn't that their slogan and why don't they warn their audience of the many side effects of the treatment.
Its so blatantly dishonest and it assumed that their viewers will buy just about any snake oil, as long as they dress it up. Lipstick on a pig indeed.
There are always one or two who, while they may not literally defend the indefensible, are shameless enough to insist they just don't see the indefensible.
Fox is just doing a more passive version of this, if they're not reporting it, it either didn't happen, or isn't newsworthy.
There is an obsession amongst U.S. "conservatives" with race. To that I would say "Grow up and read a book." If you can't grasp the 18th century words of Robert Burns, "A man's a man, for a' that" then maybe the more modern research that point out that there are no significant genetic differences between the so-called races.
The whole race thing in the U.S. grew out of an act of hypocrisy, a despicable attempt to justify slavery when it clearly violated the foundations of the Republic. In order to justify enslaving a whole group of human beings it was necessary to dehumanise them in much the same way that the military often dehumanise the group that are classified as "the enemy". Once you deny a person's humanity all forms of cruelty are possible!
Until the U.S as a nation comes to grips with its "original sin" as a nation it will not progress, rather it will decline. This, despite some of the great leaps forward that have been made.
Until there is no place for racial hate and envy in pubic discourse, the sin of the past will continue to poison the present and threaten the future.
Judge people, as individuals by the content of their character. Nothing else is relevant.
Exactly my point. It's astounding how many professed Christians seem to know nothing about repentance and forgiveness - the essence of reconciliation, which is at the heart of tolerance.
Now, I could make the comment that maybe she didn't know that Obama - along with a large number of professional black Americans - often use different accents and manners of speaking depending on the audience. Speaking as an Oklahoman who lived in Massachusetts and Canada, I definitely speak to non-Oklahomans differently than I do my family and friends back home. It's a pretty common thing in America, since we're a diverse country with no particular ethnicity. One wouldn't expect Ingraham to know anything about this.
But it's not just that. She's clearly annoyed that the black president is also culturally black, so she throws some crap in there about "pandering," when it's quite transparently outrage due to race. "You can be a black president, but you can't actually be black!"
Joe Welch to Joe McCarthy: "Have you no sense of decency, sir? At long last, have you left no sense of decency?"
Oh wait, I forgot the right is rehabbing McCarthy. They do have no decency or shame (as the Welch quote is often misstated).
Just recently, I heard an ad on righty radio for a new book, titled something like "Blacklisting History", which, from the blurb, sounds like a valentine to the kook. I may have heard the ad during Glenn Beck's show, which would make sense, as he seems to be the most paranoid Red-Scare promoter.
The right is pretty busy with their revisionist history.
Go look in the archives of Front Page Magazine. That's where a lot of these kooks float their crazy.
In Googling the book, I found a review on Freerepublic that's pretty funny, too.
Once more: WE DON'T CARE WHAT COLOR (or gender) OUR PRESIDENT IS! WE DO CARE ABOUT THE FUTURE OF AMERICA!
I am certain some of you will reflect on what I am saying a few years from now and say something like: "Dang, that guy on MMFA was pretty much right", once your kids and grandkids feel the real repercussions of Obama's policy decisions. In fact, by the time 2012 rolls around a lot of you will be agreeing with us conservatives.
One last thing, can MMFA and you PLEASE leave the race issue alone for a while? Thank You.
The future of America is better off with the financial stimulus than it would have been without it, or with more tax cuts and less stimulus.
The future of America is better off with HCR than it would have been without it.
The future of America is better off with the plans for comprehensive immigration reform than it would be with solely putting more effort into securing the borders that are already almost as secure as they can be without us waging war with Mexico!
Yet YOU want to claim htat you solely want what's best for America.
If that were true, you would have been protesting in the street when Bush was funding tax cuts with deficit spending, and when he was passing the Medicare Prescription drug benefit with deficits, and when he invaded Iraq after the UN Weapons Inspectors told him that the intelligence was wrong and Saddam has been telling the truth in December, 2002 when he said that they had no WMD's.
But you weren't. So, you didn't act when the country WAS being abused by its leader, and you're being dishonest now in your portrayal of how Obama is governing!
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheehahahahahahahahahahahahahohohohohohohohohohohehehehehehehehahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
Thanks, gnatty. It's been a long day, and I really needed the laugh.
By the way... a few years from now YOU will either be shaking your thoroughly chagrined head at what a manipulated little right wing tool that you had once been, or (more likely) you will be busy stockpiling canned goods, ammo, and gold coins in your backyard bunker in preparation for the latest Faux News promoted wingnut prediction of the imminent collapse of Western Civilization as a result of a Democrat in the White House.
Trust me on this. 99% of true conservatives care less[sic] about Obama's skin color.
Do you have a source for that figure ? I'm sure you do, I just want to pre-empt anybody else who might accuse you of substituting things you pull out of your hole for facts.
Once more: WE DON'T CARE WHAT COLOR (or gender) OUR PRESIDENT IS!
And putting on the capslock and adding exclamation points is a good way of convincing people you're not very concerned at all. Almost as convincing as Rush, Beck, Hannity and all the rest screaming all day about race, and how little it matters to them.
I am certain some of you will reflect on what I am saying a few years from now and say something like: "Dang, that guy on MMFA was pretty much right"
I hope not, but I guess some of the older people visiting this site may develop Alzheimers in a few years, others may suffer severe head trauma in accidents, so I'll give you that one. I'm not sure why you'd be taking a lot of pride in it.
I just get the feeling, with your constant defense of racists, and your feeble attempts at blaming those who point out racism as being racists, that you would be a lot happier if the subject was just not brought up, and hidden away as it has been for a lot of our history.
One last thing, can MMFA and you PLEASE leave the race issue alone for a while?
Oh, OK, that makes sense. If I were a child molester, I'd probably be asking people to avoid the subject of pedophilia.
Does the question occur to you, that it wouldn't make sense for the people you're pretending are racist to be willing to discuss the subject, while you ( a self-described non-racist) are visiting a website begging people to ignore the topic ?
Is your non-stop BS convincing you that you don't have a problem ? I sure hope you don't think it's fooling anybody else.
And one last question, one I've asked you before, but you have never answered; Is your screen name meant to be sarcastic or ironic ?
Second, what is it with you AK? Your constant picking at how I type and the occasional typo I make. Some of your friends on here type their total message in caps and make all kinds of spelling errors / typos without you saying one word about it. This is known as hypocrisy.
3rd, you will come to realize I am right starting next year when your tax burden will be increasing the largest in American history and Obama-care costs start trickling down to you and yours (just to mention a couple of Obama's horrible policy decisions).
Fourth, please provide proof of my "constant defense of racists". Since you say "constant" you will need to show at least three.
And since you people just can't stay away from race, I will remind you I probably have more "people of color" in my family then most of you. I won't prove it because it would require me to reveal my name and I can't do this because I really believe one of you nut cases would try to harm me and mine. I will say I have several Hispanics, Asians, Jewish, and blacks in my immediate family (some are liberals and some are conservatives). I love all of them and they love me.
5th, what website is "begging people to ignore the topic (of race)"? You can't mean MMFA. They devote almost as much time and effort on race as they do on slamming FOX News, which BTW is a joke to most folks - the devotion they spend on criticizing FOX. In case you guys ever visit the real world (outside of MMFA), the vast majority of regular people think FOX is much more accurate then MMFA - since MMFA edits and takes things out of context so much.
Sixth, my screen name of onementalgiant is tongue-in-cheek sarcastic. Even though it does seem to be appropriate, doesn't it?
7th, me alternating between actual numbers and written numerals ID'ing paragraphs bugs you doesn't it? Admit it AK.
If your arguments depend on others blindly accepting numbers you've just made up, you've essentially surrendered.
Your constant picking at how I type and the occasional typo...
I only noted one phrase ( for clarity, as the sentence fragment wasn't clear, and I wanted to emphasize that I was responding to what I assumed you meant to say),and mentioned the capslock and exclamation point in a "protesting too much" context.
This isn't "picking on your typing", just trying to be clear, and noting your emotional overreaction to a subject that you claim not to have any interest in. Nice job of playing the victim again, though. And nice job of keeping alive the right wing streak of not understanding the meaning of the word "hypocrisy".
3rd, you will come to realize I am right...
In addition to arguing based on things you've admittedly just made up, this is arguing based on predictions with nothing to support them, and assumptions you're making about my tax bracket. Very weak.
Fourth, please provide proof of my "constant defense of racists"... you will need to show at least three.
Please see any race-related threads at this site over the past several days for your three examples, plus dozens more. I'm not going to go run errands for you.
I will remind you I probably have more "people of color" in my family then most of you. I won't prove it...
That's not really "reminding", it's just making an unproven assertion (you admit this). Besides that, nobody cares if you have people of color in your family. It's irrelevant, even if true, and does nothing to counter your constant defense of racism. I'm embarrassed for those who are still using the " some of my best friends are..." apology. It was tired 40 years ago, and hasn't aged well.
I really believe one of you nut cases would try to harm me and mine...
Nice touch with the paranoid name-calling in excusing another failure to make a point. Sure sign of desperation.
5th, what website is "begging people to ignore the topic (of race)"?
Sorry for the confusion. I probably should have put a comma in there;
"You" are the subject here, not the website.
Sixth, my screen name of onementalgiant is tongue-in-cheek sarcastic. Even though it does seem to be appropriate, doesn't it?
If it's tongue-in-cheek, it's very appropriate. The reason I was confused is that you constantly insult others intelligence and logic, so I thought maybe your nick was intended at face value.
Do you understand the contradiction here ? You're saying that you sarcastically gave yourself a screen-name implying some great intelligence ( which makes sense), while simultaneously making remarks that suggest you're not aware of your shortcomings.
7th, me alternating between actual numbers and written numerals ID'ing paragraphs bugs you doesn't it? Admit it AK.
I didn't even notice until you pointed it out. I think you're a lot more obsessed with trivial details than normal people, which might explain your problems with following the big picture, and why you're so constantly confused and a few steps behind here.
Anyway, I usually don't like to take up this much space on a thread responding to so many ridiculous points,so I apologize to those having to scroll past, but I'm always optimistic that something might sink in here and there, even with somebody who seems as opposed to learning anything as you do.
Now I think I'm gonna head down to the beach for the rest of the day. Have a good one,OMG.
So, I'm gonna let you slide on your comments AK, except for the ones about me supposedly posting dozens of racist comments and the "some of my best friends are...".
Since you can't provide even one, let alone dozens, of alleged racist post(s) by me, you are obviously wrong. And the "some of my best friends are..." isn't applicable for my post. These are my relatives. If you are talking "friends", then you need to call bintx out on this. She said your exact phrase a couple months ago about all of her "many, many Hispanic friends" and I called her out on it. Typically though, the libbies supported her statement. Just like the liberals supported Dan Rather and his watermelon "joke" about Obama.
Hope you had a good day at the beach. I used to go for the kid's benefit but never did like all the sand mess in my car and such.
Probably the smartest move you've made in days. There really wasn't much for you to say except " Thank you, Andy, for totally dismantling my ridiculous 7 points of failure."
As I noted in my very first response, you'd already given up.
You should have stopped there, before you made the "exceptions".
The examples of your defense of racists aren't hard to find. It would be way more challenging to find a post from you that wasn't doing that. I don't need to point these out.
Trying to make a distinction between mentioning friends or relatives who are not white is a ridiculous difference without a distinction.
I don't need to call out your vague references to other posters, but if you want to link to somebody using the "exact phrase", instead of another one of your unsupported claims, feel free to step it up a notch.
You should have stopped at " I give up." You just keep digging that hole.
I've seen more than one comment from you mentioning your inability to understand "liberal logic", and this is a good chance to illustrate why you're confused. You don't understand logic.
Short explanation: If a math class had a test, and 20% said 2 + 2 = 4, and 80% said 2 + 2 =5, would you consider the 80% the "top of the class" because they had a majority consensus ?
Another good example of this problem with logic that right wingers have is a recent court decision we had here in California. A majority of voters went against the constitution, and voted to deny civil rights to a minority.
A smart judge overturned Prop 8, correctly determining that a prejudiced majority can not, constitutionally, enact mob rule to deny rights to a minority.
Do you understand that ? I know I already recommended the movie Idiocracy to you, but you don't seem to understand that a large number of people being stupid doesn't change reality, or basic American principles.
But thanks for playing.
Yes, I heard about the pathetic egotistical judge in CA who overturned several million peoples votes that marriage is between one man and one woman. And while we're on this, can you tell me where in the Constitution it says marriage can also be between two men or two women?
I will give him points for hanging in there, though. If he had as much in the brains department as he does in tenacity, he'd be dangerous.
Regarding "Obama's help" with your daughter's job and son's student loan, you do realize your neighbors are paying for this, don't you? Even Obama can't produce money from thin air. The money comes from taxes, which come from workers (well, some workers - about half of workers don't pay any federal taxes). Having said this, congrats on prompting your kids to go to college. Post high school education is becoming more and more important.
Like the program Chameo took advantage of to produce a positive effect for his children, we sometimes pay taxes because it's more important to allow those who work hard and have the ability to go to school and make something of themselves to do so, rather then let giant corporate lobbyists give all the breaks and advantages to their powerful clients.
Sorry to burst your magical utopian libertarian bubble there.
If you really haven't heard either a, b or c that I noted, just do a Google search for "Obama reparations" or turn on Rush Limbaugh or any one of half a dozen other well-known right-wing talk radio hosts to hear all about the President's supposed hate for whites, and how his policies are his attempt to get back at America for its past racial history.
I simply reminded everyone there needs to be a limit on entitlements. For example 2 1/2 years of unemployment payments is too long. Another is in some towns around me over 50% of people are on food stamps. Unlimited use of welfare for generation after generation is not only too long, it has held people back from the motivation to work (thankfully this has been changed - credit to Newt).
Obama is spending money we don't have. Much, much more than any president before him. He has increased the deficit more then ALL of out prior presidents COMBIMED in less than two years! It must stop for the welfare of our kids and grandkids future.

Then you have no business commenting on this topic.
So this whole thread and all the examples above are...?
Earlier in the comments section I asked conservatives to point out these examples of liberals making a big deal about race, and of course there have been predictably no responses.
You can repeat talking points and possibly get away with not being called out on them at times, sure. But you're making this claim on web page DIRECTLY UNDER A GIANT LIST OF EXAMPLES of the sort of thing you are denying exists. My friend, it's like taking a walk into the middle of a forest and claiming there are no such thing as trees.
I'm gonna borrow AK's comment: "I'm not going to run errands for you." However you can Google Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Louis Farrakhan to name a few liberals who make a big deal about race.
I find the actions of the digg patriots objectionable. Using multiple identities to bury things on digg that wingnuts don't want people to see. How do you feel about them?
See, thats how you can go about trying to start a dialog. Admittedly I haven't had a lot of luck with it myself with most wingnuts. What am I doing wrong?
