Limbaugh: "You can either have Obama and the Democrats or America. You can't have both."

By Ned Resnikoff

Rush dedicated most of his opening monologue to promoting his own upcoming television appearances on The Haney Project and Family Guy. Long stretches of the remainder of the show consisted of Rush and his callers grousing over how much flak he would receive for appearing on the latter program, and comparing the negative reaction to the controversy surrounding his 1993 interview with Playboy. Rush later read aloud from the opening of the Playboy interview, and joked that either Fox News' Megyn Kelly or Sen. Kirstin Gillibrand was the centerfold in that issue.

Besides himself, the one theme Rush hammered the most in this edition was the 2010 elections. Early on in the program he said, "You can either Obama and the Democrats or America. You can't have both." He subsequently repeated the expression several times. He expressed his strong wishes for Democratic electoral failure in other ways, such as hoping that Democrats won't be able to "walk away from" a "head-on collision" with the voters, and later calling for a "tsunami." Rush also touted the ostensible outsider status of Sarah Palin and Christine O'Donnell -- "real people," "who have lived lives." Their populist cred was contrasted with Michelle Obama and Secretary Clinton, who he claimed had reached success because of their husbands.

But the greatest target for Rush's ire was a caller by the name of Sylvia who disputed his assertion that Obama stands for "higher taxes." The caller insisted that the vast majority of Americans had paid lower taxes under the Obama administration, which left Rush outraged. He later backtracked, acknowledging the tax credits in the Recovery Act, but arguing that they don't count as income tax cuts.

Here are some highlights from today's show:

Limbaugh: "Dumbo" Obama and "Gumbo" Carville, who "looks like he was born on a UFO," could be "official greeters" for extraterrestrials

Limbaugh claims Obama "respects" New Black Panthers

Limbaugh: The "choice" for 2010, 2012 "boils down to ... either Obama and the Democrats or America -- you can't have both"

Limbaugh hopes Dems "are totaled" in November "head-on collision" with voters, "in a political sense of course"

Limbaugh: "Barack Imam Hoover Obama" is playing off of "class envy" by letting Bush tax cuts on wealthy expire

Limbaugh says he hopes Dems "lose 100 seats" and are "wiped out" in "a tsunami"

Rush is "not going to sit here and put up with" caller informing him that Obama cut taxes

Wow Rush, attacking two successful democratic women. Classy. Apparently by "real people" you mean: a political opportunist and a complete zero. Kind of like "common sense conservative" means moron.

I notice Laura Bush was left off that list, but then again, the poor dear has enough on her plate being married to Doofus.

Actually neither the two women mentioned by Rush nor Laura Bush deserve to be villified. That Rush does so concerning Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton shows how disgustingly anti-women he is. But that is no surprise considering the women who have gone in and out of Rush's life. He just cannot seem to get it that the problem is NOT with women but alas with him. Imagine that big fat goof picking on women. He is just totally uncouth! As a life long Republican, I find this guy totally embarrassing, a hate mongerer, and devoid of simple manners.

Typical Rush BS. If I truly believed that to be a real American required thinking like Rush, I'd be outta here this afternoon. Since I harbor no such beliefs Rush, I'm not going anywhere.

Oh I'm sure Limbaugh would be every bit as good a greeter for aliens considering how much he resembles a hutt.

Rush is 100%%% correct and the history books prove it !

The Progressive movement was founded to destroy and transform America... It's in their own words in the annuls of history all Democrats need to do is educate thy self in regard to history and not just the liberal arts, education, or law background traditional Progressive and leftist has.

So it really is no wonder you people have no clue on history, it is no wonder Hillary Clinton speaks fondly of Margret Sanger and her Planned parenthood, Mrs. Clinton is probably ignorant to the FACT that Miss Sanger was bigot and that Planned Parenthood was founded to rid the world of "socially undesirable people" in the inner cities. Gee who could that be ?

How about the NAACP which was founded by white Socialists like Eugen V Debbs for the purpose of Socialism, not racial equality as they claimed, yet most progressive are again ignorant of the HISTORICAL FACTS !

Rush just doesn't understand that Progressives only believe in a different kind of America.

The two great Progressive Presidents, Woodrow Wilson and FDR, both established internment camps for US citizens.

And, that's where the progressive road ends up. With people who are potential threats to a progressive agenda locked-up in concentration camps.

I think rush and his ilk are like a spoiled child,
craving attention, if we ignore them, they will fade
into the oblivion they create with the vast void
of inner space, between his fat ears.
