Sigh. A sad way to start the comment thread on such a lovely article.

We might call Beck or say/claim he's a lot of things, but his sexuality is seriously not an appropriate or relevant one. Anyone feeling a need to gossip over it is no better than Beck himself.

How exactly is someone "fired," yet encore presentations of the terminated employee will be re-run all next week?

Also, if you're fired, why would an organization let an ex-employee continue their program for over 3+ months?

Remember he did have a contract through the end of the year, so maybe that played a role in his 3-month hangover after the firing.

Also maybe they didn't want to just drop him immediately because that would look terrible, like Glenn is sooooooo repulsive they could not stand him for another second. They wanted to make it look like he is only semi-repulsive so they gave him a few months.

It's called contract obligations, mamaearth. Beck's contract didn't expire until the end of the year . . . he was let go after mutual contract negotiations. Ailes said he was perfectly happy with Beck's departure being called both a "resignation" and a "termination." In other words, Beck was what we like to call "quit-fired." He was given the option of quitting or being fired. If he quit, he got certain concessions. If he was fired, he got na-da. Causing embarrassment and, most importantly, financial loss for a company pretty much negates contract obligations.

That no non brainwashed sheeple would watch his show so his constant lies and pitiful ignorance would not be exposed outside the circle of his mindless minions.

            Pretty much.

I'd say that there isn't a need to wait with pen and paper in hand (since his shows and radio broadcasts are recorded), and there usually isn't a need to wait for a slip up either. The entire show is usually one big slip up.

While Beck's show in itself is empty unproductive time, it is still time and as thus must be covered with something. Since Fox does not have a replacement for him yet they need to cover that time with something.

And I say it would take a while to do...but it'd be twice as funny if media matters could put in the dates of each clip...so like when he mentions Archduke ferdinand moment clip after clip...you'd see basically, SCENE - 4 May 2010, SCENE - 15 September 2010 - SCENE 2 July 2011 etc etc. Just go give the ridicolous vagueness and stupidity of his "predictions".

Media Matters For America is a 501 (C) tax exempt organization as are the Pat Robertson founded the American Center for Law and Justice, the Koch brothers' Americans For Prosperity, Dick Armey's Freedom Works, the conservative think tank the Heritage Foundation, and Brent Bozell's Media Research Center.

Your point would be what, Carseller?

I thought that was a pretty odd question from Carseller... strange even for a Foxbot.

Then I flipped by Fox this morning, the show with the idiots on the couch, and I got it. They're talking about " this organization, Mediamatters...", (as if they're not well aware of it), and they're playing dumb(er), saying it was started as a media watchdog, but is now dedicated to destroying Fox.

At the bottom of the screen were crawls like " Mediamatters under scrutiny" and "INvestigating Mediamatters". Unless they got to it later, I don't think anybody but those clowns on the couch are questioning the site's status.

They ended the bit by showing a screen listing charities ( Cancer Society, Red Cross, etc), then a column next to it labeled " not charity", under which was MMFA all by itself.

It's a safe bet that gullible rubes like carseller have been led to believe that there's an IRS investigation of this site going on. Fox has one on the hook.

With the departure of Mr. Beck, Fox News believes they once again occupy the moral highground. By that rationale, I believe that I have heard over 100 references to Mr Obamas mispronunciation of "corpsmen" in 2 days. When did that occur? News from over a year ago that wasn't news to begin with, only available on the most powerful name in news.As far as media matters tax-exempt status,I believe they are looking to score another victory for "The American Taxpayer",you know, like getting Van Jones run off, condemning Mr Obama for the nerve to have been a practicing Christian for 20 years and the other fine contributions to our nation. Why do I believe that they truly do not have the best interests of America, nor even the human race in their hearts? Do they ever try to foster love or goodwill or do they only act as predators feeding off the very fear they attempt to generate 24 hours a day?

You still see the "corpse-men" and "57 states" things mentioned on a regular basis, just like Chris Matthews "thrill up the leg" comment from years ago.

These are dwarfed every day by right wingers gaffes, but the wingnuts never seem to see how self-defeating it is to have to cling to these things.

That's why I always like hearing them repeated, as boring as they are. It's an admission that they really don't have a lot to work with. Sort of like the subject of civil rights, where the goofballs need to go back to "Lincoln was a Republican!" to defend themselves on racial issues in the 21st Century.

Unfortunately, their main argument against media matters not being tax exempt comes from quoting this section from law.

Summing it up it pretty much means FOX will have to declare themselves as a POLITICAL outfit rather than a "fair and balanced" news outlet for their charges to stick.
