On his nationally syndicated radio program, Michael Savage responded to the recent escalation of violence in the Middle East by declaring that Hezbollah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah is a "good friend of the liberal left wing, the Michael Moore wing, the [Sen.] Barbara Boxer wing, the [Sen.] Ted Kennedy wing, the anti-American wing of the Democrat Party."
Michael Savage declared that "[l]iberalism is, in essence, the HIV virus" because it "weakens the defense cells of a nation," such as the police, the military, and the church.

On his nationally syndicated radio program, Michael Savage reacted to a San Francisco Chronicle article bearing the headline "How Aide's Betrayal Doomed al-Zarqawi" by saying the article is evidence that recently slain Al Qaeda leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi is "sort of a Jesus figure now to the liberals." Savage continued, saying that liberals "could turn him [Zarqawi] into a hero" even though Zarqawi "was an altogether piece of human offal, you know. He was like a [Rep. John P.] Murtha -- he was like a human Murtha."
On his radio program, Michael Savage labeled as "vermin" and "scum" Iraqi civilians who have accused U.S. Marines of slaughtering innocent civilians in Haditha, Iraq, and claimed that the Marines being held in connection with the alleged Haditha massacre are "POWs [prisoners of war] ... being held in America by their own government." Furthermore, Savage attacked Time magazine reporter Tim McGirk, CNN host Wolf Blitzer, and Rep. Jack Murtha (D-PA), who have commented on the alleged massacre, saying that they belong in "shackles."
On his radio program, Michael Savage read from a New York Times article about the arrest of 17 Canadian residents on charges that they were planning a terrorist attack, noting that one of the suspects is a "well-known and fiery figure ... in the Toronto area's South Asian community" and the imam of a mosque. Savage then declared: "Whenever you see the word 'South Asian,' substitute the word for 'terrorist,' or reference to 'terrorist.' " Savage then reclassified the word "imam," stating, "that's another code word for trouble-making bum who should have been thrown out of the country."
On his radio show, Michael Savage declared that former President Jimmy Carter is a "Jew-hater" and a "war criminal" who "is like Hitler" because of his criticism of Israeli policies in the West Bank. Savage also called Carter a "communist, anti-American, anti-Semitic bastard."

In a discussion with a caller he later described as an "ordinary Muslim," Michael Savage declared that, based on the caller's views about the war in Iraq and fading phone signal, he must have been using a cell phone "made over there in a bomb factory in the Gaza strip."
On April 17, Michael Savage called for "kill[ing] 100 million" Muslims and referred to the alleged Duke rape victim as a "drunken slut stripping whore."
Michael Savage referred to the woman who alleged she was raped at a party attended by members of the Duke University lacrosse team as a "Durham dirt-bag" and "dirty, verminous black stripper" because, according to Savage, she "lied when she said she was raped at a party." Savage added that "[t]his is the radical, feminist, lesbian agenda being acted out on our campuses in a witch-hunt manner against these white boys, very much like the socialist communist agenda being acted out on the American stage by the extras called the illegal aliens," whom he also referred to as "brown supremacists."
On April 11, radio host Michael Savage responded to a Media Matters for America item posted earlier that day by claiming that he had not referred to illegal immigrants as "vermin" as Media Matters contended, but rather "the leadership behind" the illegal immigrants. Savage declared: "[Y]eah, I would say that vermin is an accurate description, Mr. Media Matters." But on his April 10 show, Savage used the pronoun "they" -- who are "not even entitled to vote or be here" -- whose antecedent was unmistakably "vermin. In the same broadcast, he also said that politicians who continue to support the "vermin" may be "picking the vegetables."
