On Fox News' America's Election HQ, radio host Tammy Bruce suggested that Sen. Hillary Clinton suffers from "mythomania ... part of a larger psychiatric scheme of people who make up fantastic stories to bolster their own image." As purported evidence, Bruce asserted that Clinton had said her daughter, Chelsea Clinton, was "at the World Trade Center on September 11th." In fact, Hillary Clinton made no such claim.
On Hannity & Colmes, radio host Tammy Bruce -- referring to a report that Sen. Hillary Clinton's brother, Anthony Rodham, is "a deadbeat dad who owes tens of thousands of dollars in child support" to his ex-wife -- claimed, "This is obviously Rodham family values." Bruce added, "[T]his isn't good for Hillary's campaign. I do think it speaks about the Rodham family itself. And I think it reflects on her just like Hillary's husband reflects on her. It's not good, neither one of them." Guest co-host Mark Steyn wondered: "[T]his is $75,000 [in back child support]. Couldn't the Clinton campaign have settled all this quietly when the campaign got going before it all became public?"
On her blog, radio host Tammy Bruce asserted that Fox News host Bill O'Reilly has been under "increasing attacks ... by the [George] Soros Media Gestapo, Media Matters. Once again, the left, via MM, has resorted to their default position in attempting to demonizing [sic] someone, specifically by calling O'Reilly a racist." Bruce further asserted, "The left, Soros, and his political and media thugs, cannot withstand independent voices and they will work overtime to silence them. Let's make sure these new gestapos fail." In fact, Soros has never given money to Media Matters, either directly or through another organization.
Bill O'Reilly hosted Fox News contributor Tammy Bruce to talk about what O'Reilly called "[t]he far-left Internet sites" such as Media Matters for America who "are in the business to smear any and all commentators who do not toe the liberal line." In response, Bruce said, "I think most of us who are in the public eye have got to call attention to the real story, which is the fact that a Gestapo has emerged in America. If you'll notice, the attacks on you mirror the attacks on General [David] Petraeus. And you have a media Gestapo in Media Matters, and then you have the political Gestapo in MoveOn.org."
Discussing the scandal involving Rep. Mark Foley on Fox News Live, political analyst Tammy Bruce stated: "All I want, frankly, is a gay person in office who is not a sexual compulsive. I mean, is that too much to ask for?"
