<title>NRO contributor Smith &#x22;hard-pressed&#x22; to find U.S. service members who would say &#x22;it&#x27;s not going well&#x22; in Iraq</title>
<link>http://mediamatters.org/items/200710290008</link>
<description>In a post
on the NRO military blog
The Tank, W. Thomas Smith Jr. asserted that he had been to Iraq, spent
&#x22;[d]ays -- sometimes weeks -- at a time&#x22; with units in action, and
would be &#x22;hard-pressed to find one American Marine or soldier (or a Brit)
who would say to me &#x27;it&#x27;s not going well.&#x27; &#x22; However, there are several examples
of active-duty or retired service members
expressing discontent with progress in Iraq through media outlets.

<title>Baier left out GOP Sen. Specter in blasting Dems for visiting Syria</title>
<link>http://mediamatters.org/items/200612140006</link>
<description>In a report on Sen. Bill Nelson&#x27;s recent
visit to Syria, Fox News&#x27; Bret Baier falsely suggested that
&#x22;despite warnings and disapproval&#x22; from various administration
officials, only Democratic lawmakers would defy the administration and meet
with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. He did not mention that Sen. Arlen
Specter, a Republican, is also reportedly expected to go to Syria.

<description>On &#x3C;em&#x3E;Imus in the Morning&#x3C;/em&#x3E;, Don Imus referred to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton as &#x22;Satan&#x22; 11 times, once calling her &#x22;that buck-tooth witch, Satan.&#x22; He also called Al Gore &#x22;the phoniest bastard on the planet,&#x22; adding that Gore is &#x22;a horrid human being.&#x22;</description>
