Hannity failed to challenge suggestion that Obama has not "condemn[ed] the actions" of Ayers

On Hannity's America, discussing what host Sean Hannity said was Sen. Barack Obama's "friendly relationship" with Weather Underground member William Ayers, retired New York City Police detective Paul Ragonese, who survived a 1970 bombing attack by the Weather Underground, stated, "I can't understand why somebody who wants to be president of the United States, I'll be perfectly honest with you, would want to associate or not condemn the actions of people in the past." Hannity did not note that, in fact, Obama has condemned Ayers' "detestable acts."

After asking, "Do the Obamas have a race problem of their own?" Hannity continued to smear Barack and Michelle Obama

On Hannity's America, Sean Hannity falsely asserted that the minister of Sen. Barack Obama's church "honored [Louis] Farrakhan for lifetime achievement, saying, quote, 'He truly epitomized greatness.' " In fact, the managing editor of a magazine founded by the church wrote those words, not the minister. Hannity also stated that Michelle Obama "wrote in her [undergraduate] thesis that we see at Princeton, you know, the belief -- 'because of the belief that blacks must join in solidarity to combat a white oppressor.' " However, as the full context of the passage makes clear, she was discussing views that black students who attended Princeton in the 1970s may have held, not asserting her own views.

On Fox News, Cunningham repeatedly referred to Obama as "Barack Hussein Obama"

On Hannity's America, conservative radio talk-show host Bill Cunningham repeatedly called Sen. Barack Obama "Barack Hussein Obama." Discussing the Democratic presidential primaries, Cunningham asserted: "I've had a couple individuals tell me that after the so-called 'white voters' in Iowa and New Hampshire weighed in heavily, especially in Iowa, for Barack Hussein Obama and then in New Hampshire, Hillary kind of made a little bit of a comeback. There has been a conscious effort by Bubba [Bill] Clinton to smear and to slime Barack Hussein Obama on the race issue."

Hannity falsely asserted that Murtha "has gone to the other side" with his recent troop surge comments

Referring to Rep. John Murtha's recent
statements on President Bush's troop increase strategy in Iraq, Sean
Hannity asserted that "Democrats are going to have an even harder time
trying to win the White House on a blame-Bush and the Republicans platform now
that their loudest critic has gone to the other side." However,
Murtha's comments did not indicate that he "has gone to the other
side." Rather, Murtha said: "I think the surge is working, I think
-- but that's only one element. ... But the thing that has to happen,
the Iraqis have to do this themselves." In a November 30 statement, Murtha also reiterated his
support for withdrawing troops from Iraq.

In "Clinton Chapters" segment, Hannity omitted key points from journalist on whose reporting he based the segment

During a Hannity's America "Clinton
Chapters" segment highlighting Hillary Clinton's alleged
"connections with a communist law firm," host Sean Hannity omitted
key points from reporting by The New York Sun's Josh Gerstein despite Hannity claiming his
report was "based on reporting from ... Gerstein."
Specifically, Hannity asserted that Jessica Mitford, the wife of one of the partners at the firm where Clinton held a summer internship, "decided to use her connection to the Clintons to get the state of Arkansas
to drop the extradition or to completely pardon" an escaped fugitive
after Bill Clinton had become Arkansas
governor. But Hannity didn't note Gerstein's reporting that the Clintons rebuffed the
request. Hannity also questioned whether Hillary Clinton had "sympathy
with the Communist Party" in deciding to clerk at the firm but failed to
note Gerstein's reporting quoting a partner in the law firm calling
Clinton "much more of a classic liberal than the
rest of us."

Citing Investor's Business Daily, Hannity repeated Soros funding falsehoods

On Hannity's
America, Sean Hannity asserted: "The left-wing group Media
Matters denies that Soros gives them any funding, but IBD [Investor's
Business Daily] suspects they may be getting his money
indirectly through third parties." As Media
Matters has repeatedly and exhaustively demonstrated, philanthropist George Soros has
never given money to Media Matters,
either directly or through another organization.

Hannity again mischaracterized Obama's "air-raiding civilians" comment

On Hannity's
America, Sean Hannity stated that it is "amazing" how the Iraq war
"has become so politicized" and attacked Sen. Barack Obama, claiming that "one
of the worst things ... we could ever have happen is have people like Barack
Obama say that our troops are air-raiding villages and killing civilians." But
in Obama's August 13 comments to which Hannity was referring, Obama was talking
about Afghanistan when he said, "We've got to get the job done there and that
requires us to have enough troops so that we're not just air-raiding villages
and killing civilians, which is causing enormous pressure over there."

Hannity claimed Obama was "bashing America" when he criticized Bush's Afghanistan policy

On Hannity's America, Sean Hannity asserted that Sen.
Barack Obama was "bashing America" and "accus[ing]
U.S. soldiers of killing innocent Afghani civilians" during a campaign appearance. In
fact, accounts of civilian casualties resulting from U.S. air strikes in
Afghanistan have been widely reported, and Obama expressed support for
increasing the number of troops in Afghanistan so the U.S. military is not so
reliant on air strikes in the region. Hannity
has repeatedly mischaracterized Obama's comments on Afghanistan.
