O'Reilly's guest Hoenig again advocated military strikes on Iran while discussing economy

On Bill O'Reilly's radio show, financial commentator Jonathan Hoenig said: "[I]f there's bad guys out there, Bill, and you alluded to Iran and whatnot -- let's deal with them militarily. You know, we didn't win -- win World War II by cutting back on German sausages." Hoenig has previously advocated military strikes on Iran and North Korea in appearances on Fox News' Your World with Neil Cavuto.

O'Reilly claimed "when Katrina hit, none of the oil rigs spilled in Louisiana," but didn't note that 5,552 barrels spilled into Gulf

On his radio program, Bill O'Reilly stated, "Remember when Katrina hit, none of the oil rigs spilled in Louisiana." However, O'Reilly did not note that according to a report prepared for the federal government by an international consulting firm, Hurricane Katrina resulted in 70 spills from outer continental shelf structures with a total volume of approximately 5,552 barrels of oil and petroleum products, including 27 spills from platforms and rigs that resulted in the spilling of approximately 2,843 barrels of petroleum.

O'Reilly again cited Obama's National Journal ranking without noting rankings' subjectivity

On both his radio and television shows, Bill O'Reilly again cited Sen. Barack Obama's ranking by the National Journal as the "most liberal senator" for 2007, without noting the rankings' subjectivity. O'Reilly did not note that the rankings were based not on every vote cast by senators in 2007, but rather on "99 key Senate votes, selected by NJ reporters and editors, to place every senator on a liberal-to-conservative scale."

Radio Factor guest host Tony Snow offered false and misleading attacks on Obama

Guest-hosting The Radio Factor, Tony Snow falsely claimed that "since he's been in the United States Senate, [Sen. Barack Obama] has voted present more often than any other member of the Senate." Snow also asserted that Obama "has described Jeremiah Wright as one of his key political advisers, and he said that he didn't make any key political decision without consulting him." In fact, Obama has stated that Wright "has never been my political advisor; he's been my pastor."

O'Reilly on Media Matters: "Any of the presidential candidates who can deport those swine -- I'm voting for them"

On his radio program, Bill O'Reilly called the "people" at Media Matters for America "the worst Americans in the country" and stated, "If I could, I would deport them." O'Reilly also asserted: "But this Media Matters, this disgusting, despicable, far-left website, they do it all the time. And MoveOn and all these people, that's what they do. They disagree with you, and they brand you a racist."

O'Reilly attacked as "far-left loon" caller who asked if he would apologize for "lynching party" comment

Discussing his previous comments about Michelle Obama, Bill O'Reilly stated that "[t]he word 'lynching' was used because I said it quite clearly. I'm not going to go on some lynching party against Michelle Obama; that's ridiculous." However, O'Reilly had said: "I don't want to go on a lynching party against Michelle Obama unless there's evidence, hard facts, that say this is how the woman really feels. If that's how she really feels -- that America is a bad country or a flawed nation, whatever -- then that's legit. We'll track it down." O'Reilly also attacked a caller who asked him if he owed "Michelle Obama an apology for that disrespectful lynching analogy," calling him a "far-left loon."

O'Reilly falsely claimed Cynthia Tucker wrote "Mike Huckabee is unfit to be even vice president because of his faith in God"

Bill O'Reilly falsely asserted on his Fox News show that Atlanta Journal-Constitution editorial page editor Cynthia Tucker -- whom he called "an antireligionist and a far-left zealot" -- wrote that former Gov. Mike Huckabee "is unfit to hold any national office because of his belief in God." In fact, Tucker did not cite "his faith in God" as the reason Huckabee "shouldn't be on any ticket"; she specifically noted his support for constitutional amendments banning abortion and same-sex marriage and quoted Huckabee on what he said was the need "to amend the Constitution so it's in God's standards."

O'Reilly to caller: "I don't think your assessment" that Oprah's "voting for [Obama] because he's black" "is wrong"

On his radio show, Bill O'Reilly took a call from a listener who said, "It sounds
like [Oprah Winfrey is] voting for [Sen. Barack Obama] because he's black."
O'Reilly responded: "I don't think your assessment is wrong." In a recent
speech, after naming several specific actions Obama has taken, Winfrey said: "We
need a president with clarity and conviction, who knows how to consult his own
conscience and proceed with moral authority. We need Barack Obama."

O'Reilly: "I think that Obama needs to answer some questions about his point of view, not only on the USA, but on a lot of things"

On his radio show, Bill O'Reilly replied to a caller who said she was
"disturb[ed]" over an email she received about Sen. Barack Obama, showing he was
"the only one with his hand not over his heart" during the "Pledge of
Allegiance," and "over the lapel pin thing," by saying,
"Well, I think that Obama needs to answer some questions about his point of
view, not only on the USA, but on a lot of things, and he simply doesn't do it."

O'Reilly attacked Media Matters with falsehood about whether he received complaint

In defending his controversial comments about race, Bill O'Reilly claimed that "we didn't hear one
complaint about the program that ran on more than 400 radio stations." Similarly, an Associated Press article stated that "O'Reilly said the [Juan]
Williams conversation was carried on more than 400 radio stations and there
wasn't one complaint from a listener." In fact, during the same broadcast in which
O'Reilly made his controversial remarks, a caller told O'Reilly: "I think
your spinning and bloviating does not do the black community justice. You're
just giving fodder to your viewers who have a negative view of black people
anyway, so your pointing out a couple of [rappers] Twistas and Ludacrises in the
large general population is shameful."
