On Hannity's radio program, DeLay falsely claimed Obama supports "a bill to fingerprint every American in this country"

On The Sean Hannity Show, Tom DeLay falsely claimed that Sen. Barack Obama is "in favor of a bill to fingerprint every American in this country and have a national fingerprint database." In fact, the bill to which DeLay was apparently referring would require employees of banks that apply for "licensing and registration as a State-licensed loan originator," as well as individuals who apply for licenses, to submit fingerprints to "to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and any governmental agency or entity authorized to receive such information for a State and national criminal history background check."

Matthews didn't challenge DeLay's claim that Obama will "surrender the war on terror"

On MSNBC, former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay told Chris Matthews that if Barack Obama wins the Democratic presidential nomination, "we'll get to talk about what change means when Obama is president of the United States. Change isn't exactly what I think this nation wants to go -- surrender the war on terror, more taxes, more spending, bigger government." Matthews did not challenge DeLay's comments. The next day, a Washington Times article quoted DeLay smearing Obama as a "Marxist."

On Hannity & Colmes, DeLay claimed "there was no gotcha questions" in Democratic CNN/YouTube debate

On Hannity & Colmes, Tom
DeLay claimed that the questions asked during the November 28 CNN/YouTube
Republican debate "were nothing but gotcha
questions with a liberal bias," and that "there was no gotcha
questions like these" during the July 23 CNN/YouTube Democratic debate. Co-host
Sean Hannity asserted, "Now I don't remember seeing Republican questioners at
the Democratic debate. Do you?" But several questions from the July 23
Democratic debate could be classified as Republican "gotcha" questions, and the
Los Angeles Times reported that a
"review" of the Democratic debate found that "[a]t least two of the
citizen-interrogators had clear GOP leanings."

In column, DeLay claimed Limbaugh was discussing "Global War on Terror critics" who faked military credentials

Tom DeLay claimed that "[a] few days back," Rush Limbaugh "and a caller were
discussing Global War on Terror critics who have either exaggerated or entirely
invented their military and combat service in order to bolster their
credibility" when Limbaugh referred
to "phony soldiers." In fact, during his
September 26 broadcast, Limbaugh did not
restrict his comments. DeLay also falsely
claimed that Media Matters was
"George Soros-funded."

On Hardball, DeLay falsely claimed GOP "demanded that [Foley] resign from Congress"

Discussing whether Sen. Larry Craig will resign
following his guilty plea for misdemeanor disorderly conduct, Tom DeLay falsely
claimed that Mark Foley "resigned from Congress because the Republicans
demanded that he resign from Congress," when sexually explicit Internet
messages he had sent to former congressional pages became public. In fact,
Dennis Hastert stated in October 2006 that "Foley resigned almost
immediately upon the outbreak of this information, and so we really didn't have
a chance to ask him to resign."
