Fox Starts Pushing GOP Senator's Proposal For A Special Counsel To Examine Clinton Emails

Martha MacCallum: If Hillary Clinton Wants Public To See Her Emails, “Then There Should Be No Problem With Having A Special Counsel Take A Look At Them”

From the September 16 edition of Fox News' America's Newsroom:

STEVE HAYES: I think that's a pretty strong case that Senator Cornyn makes, and you can point to the Justice Department's defense of Hillary Clinton on these matters in court just this past week and over the past several months. So on the one hand you've got the FBI investigating Secretary Clinton and on the other you've got the Justice Department defending Secretary Clinton. So certainly there's at least this tension, and then to go beyond that what Senator Cornyn says is you've got, you're asking people to investigate their former colleagues and the current Democratic front runner for the presidential nomination. That also creates some additional tension. So I think there is a call for this special counsel.

MARTHA MACCALLUM: Yeah. When Hillary Clinton, whenever asked about this, Steve, she says, “I want it out all out there. I want everybody to see what's in those emails because there's nothing there.” So if that's true, then there should be no problem with having a special counsel take a look at them.
