The media nonsense surrounding Obama's emotions in response to the oil spill continues unabated as the Beltway press corps proves yet again that when given the chance, even in times of national crisis, it will always focus on trivia. (And/or GOP talking points.)

From the AP [emphasis added]:

Obama's salty comments broadcast on NBC's “Today” show on Tuesday raised questions about his escalating anger and angst — are they real or calculated for political effect?

Notice how AP couches the question. The AP's Tom Raum doesn't come out and claim that Obama is faking his anger over the oil spill, Raum simply suggests that Obama's “ass” comment “raised questions” about whether his anger was genuine. But who actually raised the questions? People like the AP's Tom Raum, of course. Because if you read the entire article, Raum can't find a single person to quote who suggests Obama's anger isn't real, or that it's being projected “for political effect.”

In other words, the only people (aside from full-time Obama haters) wasting their time over this dubious theater criticism debate in terms of how much Obama is emoting and whether it's genuine or not, are Beltway scribes who apparently have nothing better to do with their time.

UPDATED: Isn't it telling the Beltway press couldn't care less about how the CEO of BP --y'know, the guy ultimately responsible for the catastrophe -- is handling the disaster in terms of his public expressions of emotions. But the same press corps spends days dissecting Obama's every utterance.
