Glenn Beck kicked off his Fox News show today with a shot at “another news network” that had posted an on-screen graphic he didn't like. The graphic, accompanied by an image of MSNBC host Contessa Brewer, stated, “Law makes it a crime to be an illegal immigrant.” Beck sniffed, “I don't -- I mean, it's just like illegal murder is now illegal. I mean, it's illegal. We have to make something illegal that's already illegal? This is how they summarize the new law in Arizona.”
Hmmm. Haven't we heard this somewhere before?
Beck's complaint echoed remarks Sarah Palin made a few weeks ago on Sean Hannity's show, when she derided one of the “lamestream media” outlets for posting “a caption across their screen that said Arizona law will make it illegal to be an illegal immigrant.” But as Media Matters noted then, “another news network” wasn't the only cable news channel to post such a graphic Indeed, Fox News itself posted just such a graphic on the April 27 broadcast of Fox & Friends.
