On Saturday, Tea Party Express chairman Mark Williams rehashed an old, evidence-free rumor about President Obama in a blog post headlined, “Meet Vera Baker, President Obama's Mistress.” Williams wrote as a photo caption: “Vera Barker, Tiger Woodsing Barack Obama, possible expert on Lincoln Bedroom ceiling.” Williams added that the rumors that the two were “banging” “go back a way” but the country “was slipped a roofie when Obama was sliding into its pants so if your memory is groggy its okay.”

Well, well, well. The rumors of fund-raiser Vera Barker banging Barack go back a way. They briefly surfaced during the campaign but were denied and quickly evaporated in the general Obamamania that prevailed. Williams has previously called his political opponents “faggot”; pushed the discredited smear that Obama lacks a birth certificate; and called Obama a “Nazi,” a "domestic insurgent," and “our half white, racist president.”

Despite all this, Tea Party Express director Amy Kremer appeared on The View today to claim that they don't stand for fringe rhetoric and “this is not about President Obama.”
