During an interview on tonight's O'Reilly Factor, a Fox News caption plugged contributor Sarah Palin's Facebook page:
A prominent graphic and link on Palin's Facebook page urges donations to Palin's political action committee:
According to OpenSecrets.org, Palin has used her PAC to distribute nearly $200,000 to Republican candidates.
This is at least the third time Fox News has gotten into trouble for using its airwaves to promote the raising of money for Republican candidates.
In December, Howard Kurtz reported that “Fox executives told Huckabee to stop plugging the Web site on the air after learning that it linked to his political action committee, which the network deemed a conflict of interest." Huckabee nonetheless continued to promote his website on-air.
And in September, the Democratic Governors Asssociation filed a complaint against Fox News accusing the network of making an illegal contribution to Ohio gubernatorial candidate (and former Fox host) John Kasich after his campaign website appeared in a caption as he solicited contributions on The O'Reilly Factor.
