If there's one thing we've learned from watching Glenn Beck, it's this: Progressives tried to build the Tower of Babel, and are responsible for more or less every single bad thing that has happened since.
Tonight, Beck dusted off another historical example: the Communist takeover of Czechoslovakia in 1948. He claimed that George Soros, Van Jones, and the progressive movement writ large are employing a “top down, bottom up, and inside out method” to bring about radical change in the United States. “This is what happened in Czechoslovakia post-World War Two,” he said.
BECK: I want you to consider this. It's not just random. I showed you the full meaning of “top down, bottom up, and inside out” last week on the Soros show. Bottom-- Top down, bottom up, and inside out method.
This is what happened in Czechoslovakia post-World War Two. You get all of the people in the top. The government people in top. You get the radicals-- Just like the radicals down here. You get them up here into the government, and then you stir the people at the bottom. And these people rise up -- this is you, by the way -- these people rise up, you say, “Oh my gosh, protect us!” and these people come down, and they crush you. Little do you know, they're working together. It happened in post-World War Two. It also has happened now-- I believe Van Jones is calling for it.
Beck went on to assert that Soros was currently working from the “top down” via the Center for American Progress, which he claims has put “radicals and revolutionaries” in power.
So what did happen in Czechoslovakia after World War II? Well, in 1948, the Communist Party seized control of the country in a coup d'etat. Czechoslovakia remained a Communist dictatorship until 1989, when the non-violent Velvet Revolution successfully toppled the regime.
BECK: Along with currencies, Soros also collapses regimes. With his Open Society Fund, which was founded in 1979, Soros has helped fund the Velvet Revolution in the Czech Republic, the Orange Revolution in the Ukraine, the Rose Revolution in Georgia. He also helped to engineer coups in Slovakia, Croatia, and Yugoslavia. So what is his target now? Us. America.
So Beck accuses Soros of orchestrating a revolution à la Communist Czechoslovakia, when just last week he faulted George Soros for ... bringing down Communist Czechoslovakia.
