Glenn Beck, as he has done before, has released yet another project for his followers to be involved with. This time it's a “declaration of rights and responsibilities” that he released during his televangelist-style speech during the "Restoring Courage" event in Israel.
The document initially echoes the Declaration Of Independence, declaring “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” to be inalienable rights, then adds that “with those rights come responsibilities.” Beck goes on to list these responsibilities, some of which include:
- " I have the responsibility to honor the right of others to worship as they see fit" (flashback: Beck to first-ever Muslim congressman: "[W]hat I feel like saying is, 'Sir, prove to me that you are not working with our enemies' ")
- “I have the responsibility to show humility and express gratitude for all the blessings I enjoy and the rights I've been given” (flashback: Glenn Beck: Self-proclaimed world-historical figure)
- “Because I have a right to the truth, I will not bear false witness nor will not stand idly by as others do.” (flashback: 15 Whoppers Beck Did Not Get Fired For In 2010; Beck Lies About His Attack On Israeli Protesters)
And so on.
Beck has a history of launching ambitious-sounding initiatives that he either discards or forgets about ("e4 ," "40 Day Challenge," "The Black Robe Regiment," "In Or Out 2010"), so it remains to be seen just how much longer this new declaration has.
