Awkward...Breitbart blogger vouches for Media Matters' research

In its losing battle with ABC News (the fight has now entered the perpetual whine phase), Breitbart's Big Journalism site recently turned to Media Matters to prove its point about Andrew Breitbart's conflict with ABC executives and whether or not they ever invited him to appear on-air to provide Election Night analysis.

Here's the Breitbart blog headline:

Media Matters Proves ABC News Buckled to Pressure on Breitbart Booking

That's right, a Breitbart blogger cites the Media Matters timeline of ABC's shifting explanations about his decision to invite Breitbart as proof that Breitbart was telling the truth all along.

Why is that so awkward? Oh, only because Team Breitbart can barely go 60 minutes without posting some unhinged, running-down-the-hallway rant about how awful and dishonest and pointless Media Matters is. About how we're part of the "totalitarian left." That we're "ever-inane" and an organization "filled with tools." Media Matters is "highly intolerant" and we "hate diversity." We're "left-wing Blacklisters," not to mention "disgraceful and un-American." Media Matters is an "irrelevant" organization filled with "hacks" and we promote "human deviancy." And yes, we're part of the "New Axis of Evil."

But oh, when it comes to Breitbart's ABC conflict, Media Matters is dead-on and our research represents the Gospel truth.

Priceless.

The truly humorous part, of course, is that the excellent research Media Matters assembled in terms of ABC's shifting position as the controversy unfolded was research that any of Breitbart's bloggers could have done. (i.e. It's all public information.) But as usual, they're too lazy or too clueless when it comes to tackling reporting and actually practicing journalism. So instead, they have to crib off Media Matters.

Ironic, donthca think?
