Dishonest Andrew Breitbart blogger Jim Hoft, who suffers from a nearly debilitating case of Obama Derangement Syndrome, wants you to know (again) that President Obama is an egomaniac. And specifically, Obama is an egomaniac but his predecessor, George Bush was not.
How does Hoft prove such a thing? Easy, he compares one paragraph from Bush's 2003 announcement that Saddam Hussein had been captured with Obama's entire address to the nation the night we learned Osama bin Laden had been killed. (That's fair, right?)
But OMG, just look at how many times Obama mentioned himself [emphasis original]:
“Tonight, I can report . . . And so shortly after taking office, I directed Leon Panetta . . . I was briefed on a possible lead to bin Laden . . . I met repeatedly with my national security team . . . I determined that we had enough intelligence to take action. . . . Today, at my direction . . . I've made clear . . . Over the years, I've repeatedly made clear . . . Tonight, I called President Zardari . . . and my team has also spoken. . .These efforts weigh on me every time I, as Commander-in-Chief . . . Finally, let me say to the families . . . I know that it has, at times, frayed. . . .”
That's almost a dozen me-me-me references!
But note all the ellipses Hoft has to use to skim through Obama's 1,400 word address in order to find the “I's.” Do you wonder what Hoft left out in order to try to make his Obama's-an-egomanic point? Here's what Hoft left out: In the same address Obama used “we,” “us,” and “our” nearly seven dozen times.
Instead of talking about himself the whole time, Obama spent the address talking about “us” and “we.” And that is why Jim Hoft may still be the dumbest man on the Internet.
