How dumb does Byron York think his readers are?

Answer: Really dumb.
As conservatives continue to rediscover their deep-seated love of the press, a love that was camouflaged nicely while a Republican was in the White House and an open contempt for the Fourth Estate was in fashion, York lamented in the Washington Examiner that Obama has been stiffing the press. Worse, the lapdog press corps was rolling over for Obama because the Beltway press is in the pocket of the White House. (Y'know, the same loving press corps that recently invented the “Obama's Katrina” smear.)
But York has proof! [Emphasis added]:
In one sense, the press, or at least some members of the press, have only themselves to blame. Obama treats them with contempt because he knows that when big tests come, they've always been on his side. There's no reason for him to think they won't be there in the future. “Most of you covered me,” he told the media elite at the 2009 White House Correspondents' Association dinner. "All of you voted for me."
That's right, York quotes an Obama punch line given during an annual stand-up bit and pretends a joke proves his serious point about Obama and the press corps.
Like I said, how dumb does York think his readers are?
