CHRIS PLANTE (HOST): Total chaos, I tell you, in the island nation of Sri Lanka where there was a nationwide power outage yesterday, leaving more than 20 million of our fellow human beings entirely without electricity in the 90 degree heat there.
You know, it's not so much wintertime there. Who knew they had electricity in Sri Lanka? That's where I wanted to start.
But I — so the monkey caused a nationwide — one monkey, apparently — caused a nationwide power outage. And I've got to — I think there's more to come. But the country's energy minister blamed it all on a monkey that came into contact with our grid transformer, he said, causing an imbalance in the power system. And I'm expecting this in California any day now.
