Fox's Monica Crowley: “The Overall Perception Is That Donald Trump Is A Young 70, And Mrs. Clinton Is A Relatively Old 68, 69”

Crowley: The “Idea That Perhaps Mrs. Clinton Is Not Being Entirely Straightforward With Voters On The True Nature Of Her Condition Is A Legitimate Issue” To Raise

BILL HEMMER (CO-HOST): How big of an issue is it? Now, Monica, or is it only an issue for this week?

MONICA CROWLEY: Well, the only thing more grueling and stressful than running for president, Bill, is actually being president. And I think after the medical episode that we saw from Mrs. Clinton on Sunday at the 9/11 event, which was a fairly major episode caught on camera, it's only appropriate that voters raise the questions and have those questions honestly answered. There's a difference between biological age and physiological age. Mrs. Clinton is going to be 69-years-old in a couple of weeks. Donald Trump just turned 70. But the overall perception is that Donald Trump is a young 70, and Mrs. Clinton is a relatively old 68, 69, in terms of physiology. I think those questions are legitimiate, and the idea that perhaps Mrs. Clinton is not being entirely straightforward with voters on the true nature of her condition is a legitimate issue both for Donald Trump to raise, for the media to raise, and for voters to raise.

HEMMER: All right. Now, David, go ahead and react to that, and I'll make another point here.

DAVID GOODFRIEND: Sure. Well, I just read this morning before coming on a new report out that says Donald Trump originally was going to go on The Dr. Oz Show to talk about his own personal health and then has walked that back since. He's not going to talk about his personal health in any detail, and, instead, is going to talk about, you know, what we should do to stay active and eat well. And I have the -- you know, we all remember the old saying from when we were kids: those who live in glass houses should not throw rocks. Donald Trump is walking on some pretty dangerous thin ice here if he wants to start talking about health, but refuses to disclose, just like he refuses to disclose his tax records.

HEMMER: I got you. We'll see what comes out later today. Here's my feeling. If she comes back strong I think this will be put behind her. But if she comes back, and if there's another episode, David, that could be a real issue. Now, Chelsea Clinton was in North Carolina. During an interview on television she said the following, she said, “I don't think I have ever seen my mom, seen her, so tired,” suggesting on Sunday morning when she arrived at her apartment, “I didn't even know she had pneumonia until she came to my apartment. I talk to my mom every day and I'm fiercely close to her it pretty much reveals that she didn't think it was a big deal and that she could just keep going.” Monica, what can we believe? And I say that because we were told that she only told family members and very close friends about the diagnosis the previous Friday. And now -- her daughter is probably in that circle, don't you think?
