JOE SCARBOROUGH (CO-HOST): How serious do you take the Russian investigation right now?
MIKE BRZEZINSKI (CO-HOST): You need a presidency that works.
SCARBOROUGH: How important is it for you?
HUGH HEWITT: I think it's very important that the Senate Intelligence Committee do it. I do not want a special prosecutor, which will set it back --
NICOLLE WALLACE: Well you're going to get one. I mean that's what happens next.
HEWITT: No we're not. No, [Deputy Attorney General] Rod Rosenstein is not going to put in a special prosecutor.

EDDIE GLAUDE: How about the question he answered during his confirmation? "Would you -- will you be willing to appoint a special prosecutor?
HEWITT: He said he would be willing to if he thought it was necessary, but he believes it himself. [Sen] Patrick Leahy [(D-VT)] asked [James] Comey last week this very question. “Should he appoint it?” And Comey said, “I trust his judgment, I trust Rod Rosenstein's judgment” under oath as --
BRZEZINSKI: Ask [White House Deputy Press Secretary] Sarah Huckabee Sanders that because that it is what she will say on a repeat because there's nothing else to say and you're doing it on a loop too, with all due respect. It is unbelievable. I'm sorry.
HEWITT: It's called reading the memo. Read the memo.
BRZEZINSKI: No, it's called this presidency is failing day by day by day through lies. Sorry.
[...]
SCARBOROUGH: So you going to be around today on TV?
HEWITT: Yeah.
SCARBOROUGH: Oh great. So people can be watching you all day on MSNBC, they love you here.
BRZEZINSKI: Good luck.
SCARBOROUGH: You and me, we should really start our own little podcast.
BRZEZINSKI: I love you. I think you're flat wrong and possibly even doing Trump's bidding, but that's all. That's just my opinion.
HEWITT: Talk to anyone at the White House.
