STEPHANIE RUHLE(HOST): Fox News -- they say news isn't showing things that are correct, this weekend, put up a screen saying -- here we go, jobs created during the first two months boom boom boom with Obama in red. It doesn't even have in there, guess what, President Obama took office through the financial crisis, a crippling moment in our economy, in our society. So does President Trump run the risk, putting an ad out like this, that you have to be accountable [to] the American people you're now responsible for. And there are some tall tales in there

MIKE LUPICA: But that's his reality. That's what he wants to think is going on and he wants ads that are like the people are talking about him on Fox. And many of whom talk about him like you would talk about your first crush when you were in high school. But this is the reality that this man seeks. That everything he does is a triumph.

MEGAN MURPHY: Well news flash on that graphic, which is one of the most comical things about it, is it actually shows the strength of the Obama presidency in terms of how far he took the economy. You are exactly right; 1.5 million down, it was the height of the financial crisis, he brought unemployment from 10 percent to just over 4 percent. Trump is inheriting that economy the labor market is a lagging indicator, not a forward one, those jobs are being added in the wake of all the reconstructive work that was done, getting the private sector moving again, really taking that unemployment rate down. That is what Trump is benefiting from. Now, that is not to be said that some of his pro-growth policies perhaps won't add more jobs, particularly in the manufacturing sector. Without a doubt, and the good way we are going to see from massive tax cuts and deregulation. But look, he came in on a tailwind and that's what he's benefiting from now.
