KATIE PAVLICH (FOX NEWS CONTRIBUTOR): Well, and the polling also shows that the majority blame President Trump for the shutdown, and that's probably due to the fact that he said before the shutdown he would take responsibility for it, and he hasn't been able to get himself out of that statement. Now, when it comes to border security, it's a mixed bag on how people feel about what that actually means, and there's been some discrepancies about humanitarian aid, medical care, and building a wall to stop these caravans from continuing to go through.
But, on the economy, which is going to be important when it comes to 2020, as all of these candidates on the left start putting their hats in the rings, people say that they're better off than they were two years ago right now, but they have a bleak economic outlook for the next two years. And that signals to me that Democrats have taken over the House, they want more regulation, they want tax increases, [Alexandria] Ocasio-Cortez is talking about 90 percent, 70 percent tax. People in America who are small business owners and paying attention to the economy have looked at the deregulation over the past two years and the ability for the economy to grow, and now they're seeing all this talk in Washington about stopping that growth.
STUART VARNEY (HOST): The president has to fight the media. I mean, you're formally -- in every respect, but on the economy? When have you ever seen it reported on the front page in any newspaper, or leading the evening news on television, when have you ever seen, “The economy is doing very well, unemployment at an all-time low, minorities, all-time low unemployment rate, deregulation, wages are” -- when do you see that? You don't see it.
