Fox News downplayed and ignored the fact that, during a May 21 speech on Islam in Saudi Arabia, President Donald Trump did not use the phrase “radical Islamic terror” -- a phrase Fox personalities praised Trump for using on the campaign trail and attacked former President Barack Obama for not using during his presidency. Repeatedly on May 21 and 22, Fox figures on shows like America's News HQ, Fox & Friends, America’s Newsroom, and Happening Now glossed over Trump’s use of the alternate phrases such as “Islamic extremism.” For years, Fox News has attacked Democrats for refusing to use the phrase “radical Islamic terror,” even though experts have explained that it is counterproductive and even dangerous.
