JOE CARDINALE (RETIRED NYPD LIEUTENANT): I really don't -- to this day, I don't see it as an outright chokehold. All right? It's taking somebody down. Look at the size of Eric Garner, all right? And the simple thing right here is -- and even Commissioner O'Neil said it yesterday -- comply. Just don't fight, don't resist. Now you have this big man resisting and we have seen how things on the street can go sour in seconds, all right? And they took him down. And everybody's going to look at it every different way and say, “Oh, it's too much force because he died." Right? But had it been a regular arrest and nothing happened to him, it would be business as usual. But no, it sparked outrage, and once again, they just didn't want to deal with the aftermath of that.
