AINSLEY EARHARDT (CO-HOST): When [President Trump] was in [Helsinki, Finland,] he said -- because we had just learned that our intelligence community had found out that Russia did meddle in the elections and had indicted those twelve individuals that work -- that are Russian. So the president's asked about it and the president says, he says he doesn't see any reason why Russia would be behind election meddling. And everyone went, “What? They are behind the meddling. We have proof of that, our own intelligence is saying that.” And then the president, that's when he made that clarification saying, “I didn't mean that.”
STEVE DOOCY (CO-HOST): Right, and that's why yesterday on this program we said, “it's so puzzling that he would not say that Russia was behind the meddling,” because he has said there was meddling in the election and it was Russia, he has said that a number of times. So yesterday he made it very clear he had misspoken regarding something very important because he used a double negative.
