Mark Foley (R-FL) will affect the Republicans' chances in the upcoming midterm elections, conservative radio talk-show host Paul McGuire claimed that the Democrats' solution to the war in Iraq “is for American women to ... wear burqas and bow down and surrender.”

McGUIRE: Respectfully, the Foley scandal admittedly is very morally repugnant to me personally. That -- you can't broad -- paintbrush the Republican Party. That's not going to affect the Republican Party. The other scandal is not going to affect the Republican Party. Here's the big issue: The big issue is the Democrats have absolutely no platform. Their platform is anti-Bush, and their -- their solution to the Iraq war is for American women to make -- to wear burqas and bow down and surrender. The Democratic Party has no platform on the war on terrorism, and the American people know that.
