STUART VARNEY (HOST): Last night the first lady, Michelle Obama, referred to the White House built by slaves. The White House spokesman was asked about this today, and here's his response.

VARNEY: “No.” What's your response? Was it divisive?



BEN CARSON: I don't think it was meant to be divisive. I think she was saying it to demonstrate how far we had come, what the progress was. And, you know, so often we look for the negative components in what someone says, we need to get away from that, I do believe.
